Chapter 312: Did he hurt you?

Jian Ci barely had a moment to breathe before golden tendrils erupted from Thaurion’s aura. They shot forward, coiling around him, strangling his body and piercing into his mind. The psychic invasion was suffocating, a storm of pain that threatened to tear him apart from the inside.

Jian Ci’s vision blurred, his chest constricted, but he endured. The agony was immense, yet it was nothing compared to the torment he had felt during his mental collapse. Compared to that, this was survivable.

Thaurion’s brows furrowed. He had expected his son to fold, to beg, to break. But Jian Ci was stubborn, just as stubborn as Seraphyne had been.

A smirk tugged at Thaurion’s lips as he tugged at his collar, his expression shifting into cold amusement. He had something else to break Jian Ci with. Something far more valuable.

"Bring him in," Thaurion commanded.

"Yes, your majesty," the attendant replied, bowing before disappearing.

Jian Ci’s body trembled under the psychic restraints, his mind buzzing from the pain, his focus slipping. And then he saw Yu Xi.

Dragged into the cell with a black leather leash, his shirt torn, his body bruised.

Jian Ci froze. His mind went blank, then roared back to life in a storm of panic and rage. The sight of Yu Xi shattered his composure, his blood pounding in his ears. The leash clinked against the floor, and Jian Ci’s heart clenched.

Thaurion’s smirk widened as he tugged at the leash, jerking Yu Xi forward. The force nearly sent him sprawling, his knees buckling, but he caught himself with a sharp intake of breath. Jian Ci’s eyes widened, fear flashing across his face, raw and unguarded. Thaurion saw it and savored it. The thrill that surged through him was the same he had felt years ago when Seraphyne had worn that expression. The real fun had begun, he thought.

Jian Ci had two choices: betray his brothers or watch his beloved be humiliated.

Thaurion wrapped his arms around Yu Xi from behind, pulling him close, his lips grazing the curve of Yu Xi’s neck. His eyes gleamed with devilish hunger.

"Don’t touch him!!" Jian Ci roared, his voice breaking with fury. He strained against the chains, his body convulsing with blinding pain, but he didn’t feel it anymore. The storm inside him was growing, swelling, clawing to break free despite the suppressant ring choking his psychic power.

Thaurion tugged at Yu Xi’s torn collar, his voice low and venomous. "Tell me where your brothers are, and all their plans, and I will let him go."

Jian Ci’s gaze locked with Yu Xi’s. His own eyes were filled with distress, breaking apart under the weight of helplessness. But Yu Xi’s eyes... they were calm.

"Little Xi..." Jian Ci whispered, his voice cracking, his heart shattering.

Thaurion’s fingers slipped deeper into Yu Xi’s collar, then wrapped around his throat, squeezing with deliberate cruelty.

Yu Xi smiled. His lips were bloodstained, his teeth gleaming red, the expression sinister and defiant. He knew something Thaurion did not.

Thaurion had restrained his esper abilities, confident he had neutralized him but Yu Xi was a hybrid. His guide powers remained untouched, hidden, waiting. Yu Xi mouthed silently: Get ready.

Jian Ci blinked, his body trembling, but his eyes sharpened in acknowledgement.

The air suddenly vibrated. Raw energy surged outward as Yu Xi unleashed his Guide powers. The cell shuddered, the walls groaning under the psychic pressure. Thaurion’s smirk faltered as the storm invaded his mind, twisting through his neurons with surgical precision.

It was not brute force, it was infiltration. A storm of whispers, memories, and piercing clarity that cut into Thaurion’s consciousness. The devil had underestimated his prey.

And now, Yu Xi’s calm defiance became a weapon, his hybrid nature revealed in the most devastating way.

Thaurion staggered, his defenses cracking like shattered glass. The realization struck him with brutal clarity. Only an SS-ranked Guide could inflict such torment. Yu Xi’s body trembled violently under the strain, blood trickling from his ears and eyes, his frame shaking as he pressed forward. Thaurion fought back with savage resistance, his golden aura clawing at the edges of Yu Xi’s storm, but Yu Xi refused to relent.

He forced Thaurion into a state where words faltered, his lips barely able to form sound. In that fleeting moment, Yu Xi shifted his focus, his power surging outward in a precise strike. The chains binding Jian Ci shattered, the suppressant ring flickering before snapping apart.

Yu Xi rushed to Jian Ci’s side, pulling him up just as Thaurion’s aura flared again. The counterattack streaked toward Yu Xi, a lethal spear of gold. Yu Xi braced himself, but Jian Ci shoved him aside at the last instant, taking the full brunt.

The impact hurled Jian Ci into the wall. His head struck hard, violet light flickering across his body before silence swallowed the cell.

Yu Xi’s scream was silent, buried in his chest. He turned, his fury igniting, and unleashed his Guide powers again, this time sharper, deadlier. The force tore through Thaurion’s defenses, ripping into his mind with lethal precision. Thaurion’s vision darkened, his body convulsed, and then he collapsed.

Yu Xi staggered to Jian Ci, pulling him free. Together, battered and bleeding, they stumbled through the corridors. Imperial guards rushed to intercept, but they were no match for the combined psychic storms of Yu Xi and Jian Ci. Even if they were even injured their fury was unstoppable.

Through a series of hidden backdoor passages, they slipped out of the prison. The air hit them like a shock, heavy with smoke and distant alarms.

More guards appeared, rushing toward them. Yu Xi shoved Jian Ci behind a wall, lowering him carefully to the ground. He peeked through the gap, his breathing uneven, his chest heaving. "They are gone," he whispered.

Jian Ci’s hand suddenly cupped his face. Yu Xi froze, unprepared, as Jian Ci pulled him forward and kissed him hard. The shock melted into heat, and Yu Xi kissed him back, their lips bruising, their breaths mingling.

When they parted, both were panting, their foreheads pressed together.

"Did he hurt you?" Jian Ci asked, his voice low, trembling with rage. A murderous glint flashed in his eyes, sharp enough to cut steel. He wanted to kill his father, to make him die a torturous death.

Yu Xi shook his head softly. "No." He nuzzled into Jian Ci’s hand, his face cradled in the warmth of his palm. His voice was steady, urgent. "We have to get out of here." Jian Ci’s jaw tightened, but he nodded.
