Obsessed to Hate Him-Chapter 60: Announcement

I know I messed up. Is it bad? Yes. Do I regret doing it? Absolutely no.
Jennifer had warned me to do anything stupid but if there was a book dedicated to people like me about wanting nothing more than tearing apart something as delicious as Liam, it all falls to the deaf ear.
I will be staying in this palace for a few more days, I will finish him during this time. The perfect definition of killing the tiger in his den. As much as dangerous it is, it is also as thrilling and I have always liked the rush. Nothing beats good sex and an adrenaline rush.
I am actually hoping that Liam can give me both. I wonder how he tastes, and that makes me want to burn down every woman who has ever had a taste of him.
Everything people have called me; a gentleman is not one of them. I donโt hesitate to kill women like most other men do. Women are venomous and even more twisted than men. So if I can slay down a man then why not a woman also? Fair enough, right?
I am currently roaming around the palace leisurely, lurking to find something interesting, and that something interesting is surely Liam. Because I find nothing interesting other than him. I am addicted but I do not object.
This is not my first time in the palace of Sylvyran, so I know every nook and hook of this place. I have always been hyper-aware of this kind of thing, so I have done my homework the first time I stepped foot in here after I ascended the shapeless throne.
Jennifer has told me to negotiate with Liam and settle down, but It would become too boring for me if I did that. Playing with prey has always been my favorite thing to do.
But the other thing that is catching my attention now is that there is no one from the Kingdom of Nyxvarral here yet, and the birthday feast is tomorrow.
The people from Nyxvarral have always been treated as outcasts in this continent, but that hasnโt stopped them from attending something as important as Royโs birthday. These birthday feasts are the only thing that still hasnโt let the war waging between the Kingdoms. It is hard to believe that Nyxvarral is willing to break the protocol.
Something about this doesnโt feel right. Nyxvarral is surely weaker than Solaryn and Oblivara, so why are they testing their luck by offending me and Roy? I am sure that they know the consequences better than anyone else. Then why?
"Commander Eryx," A cool, commanding female voice reaches my ear and I spin around. Vivana.
"Your Highness." I spin acknowledge, cocking my eyebrow slightly incredulously. The soft glow of the dim mage lights flicker on her stoic face.
Liam has issued a curfew after dinner the day after our little dinner date at the rooftop. I have always known that he is paranoid and it proves my theory.
Vivana shouldnโt be here after the curfew is activated since it is a royal order. And as for me, have I ever listened to Liam? No. Then why should I today?
"I believe that the curfew is currently in effect." Vivana approaches me, her shoes clucking clucking against the polished golden floorboard. "Why are you here?"
"I couldnโt sleep." I lie through my teeth instantly. I am pretty sure I have gotten rubbed off by Liam.
"I see." Vivana is unfazed; her voice is slashing through the silence of the long hallway.
Vivana and Liam have the same aura and the same look in their eyes. They both have this โdonโt mess with meโ aura executing from their soul. It is a little intriguing, to be honest.
"What about you, Your Highness?" I return before she can interrogate me any further.
"I am going to see Liam." She replies coolly. "Go to bed, Commander. Liam hates it when people disobey him. He might as well punish you for breaking the rule and we both know that it wonโt end well."
My eyes narrow and I look down my nose at her before nodding, "Understood, Your Highness. Goodnight."
Vivana just threatened me but I have to gulp it down unless I want another unpleasant interaction with Vivana. None of our conversations ends well.
"Goodnight, Commander." She nods her head before walking down the hallway and vanishes around the corner. I stand in the middle of the corridor for a few minutes before returning to my room for the night.
***
There is never a time when I donโt look perfect. So I donโt have to worry about it today as well. The preparation for the feast is at its peak as it is about the time.
I look at myself in the mirror for the last time before I walk out of my room and join my aunt in the grand ballroom. People are bustling in the palace. And as much as I am used to this, I do not like it. I exchange pleasantries with the people present and the king as well as the royal siblings but my eyes are drifting around the crowd, looking for a certain brown-haired man with green eyes. But he is nowhere to be seen.
"Where do you think Liam go?" I whisper into Jenniferโs ear.
"I am not his aunt." Jennifer shrugs, "I am not supposed to know where he went. And I have told you a hundred times that he is a prince call him by his title, brat." She chides and I give her a look.
"Come on, old hag." I offer her a look, "Donโt be a nag."
Jennifer opens her mouth to counter me but a sudden commotion shifts our attention. Liam enters the ballroom, his chin lifted high, his posture regal, and the royal clothes on his body are making him even more dazzling.
My eyes instantly spark up as I assess him from afar. His expression is stony but there is something in his eyes that makes me feel that his inner thoughts arenโt as plain as he is trying to show outside. He is wearing outstanding royal attire. He looks really pretty and adorable. In fact, he looks...like a prince. And he oddly resembles Eiden if we donโt count his much smaller frame and adorable face.
And it only strokes the fire of vengeance inside me.
The moment Liam is done sharing pleasantries, I start to approach him, my heart thumping with the usual thrill as I make my way to him. I am just about to call him when the king rises from his throne.
I pause and listen to Roy as he gives his speech. Every year, Itโs the same,e, but people tend to pay a lot of attention, so I pretend to do so. But...something about this speech is different. Becauseโ
"So now I would love to announce my youngest son, Liam Von Sylvyranโs engagement with Kelly Clarkson from the House of the Dukes at todayโs great occasion," Roy announces, his lips curved up into a smile.
My heart stops beating as my world starts to revolve around me.
"Wait, what...?" I blurt out.
