Brenda, who heard that, almost choked on the drink she was having, almost spitting out all the contents from her mouth.

'Can't believe this guy...' she thought as she watched the two conversing with each other.

Emma also appeared taken aback for a moment before regaining her composure, putting on a neutral expression on her face.

"Indeed. The memories of that time are still fresh in my mind..." Emma sighed, a slight tinge of disappointment crossing her features. "Though I'm disappointed you disappeared after that. And now it might be the last chance for us to meet since you're going to graduate soon."

Oliver didn't know how to respond to that. After all, they might not see each other for years after their graduation because of all the things he has to do.

However, he had no intention of ending things like this, so he replied, "Don't worry, Ms. Dawson. Even if we don't see each other daily again like before, it's not like we won't see each other again. We can still meet whenever we want to."

"That's true...," Emma agreed, looking at Oliver with an intrigued gaze. "Anyway, enjoy the party."

Oliver nodded and was about to return to his seat when suddenly he thought of something that made him ask, "Say, do you know where Rebecca is? I haven't seen her yet."

When she heard that name, Emma paused and turned back towards Oliver again. There was a hint of concern written all over her face.

"She is not coming." Emma responded, sounding troubled.

"Why?" Oliver asked in surprise.

He knew how much Rebecca cared about things like this, so he didn't expect to see her not being here, especially since she is the class president.

Emma shook her head. "It's a bit personal for her, so I won't talk too much. Just know that she is fine, though she won't be able to continue her studies."

Upon hearing those words, not just Oliver but the others around him also frowned.

It seemed like Rebecca, who was usually seen as a cold yet determined girl, was going through something that affected her that much.

Oliver tried to ask Emma for more, but she shook her head and gave a small smile.

"It's better if you don't bother her right now. Please do respect her privacy, as it's been hard for her." Emma said and, without waiting for a response, turned to leave.

However, Oliver refused to let her go that easily. He grabbed her hand and stopped her.

When she glanced back at him, he stared straight into Emma's eyes and said, "Can you tell me where she lives? I want to check on her."

Emma was about to refuse Oliver's request but changed her mind after looking into his sincere eyes. "Fine, but I'll come with you."

"That's fine with me," Oliver replied and then looked back at Brenda, Ron, and Sarah. "I'm going to see Rebecca. You guys should wait for someone to pick you up in front of the school. We should meet at our own party. It'll be better than celebrating here."

Ron's face lit up after hearing that. "That does sound good actually."

Brenda agreed as well. "True. Besides, it's almost time for us to move on from this boring school stuff and go out there and party all night long! Am I right?"

"Yep! Let's do that!" Sarah cheered excitedly.

Seeing them excited about the plan, Oliver smiled at them and said, "See you guys soon, then. Oh... and don't forget to invite Maya and Aunt Linda over."

With a wave of his hand, he departed with Emma leading him out of the building to where his car was parked.

Emma couldn't help but stare in astonishment when she saw the luxurious sports car parked outside.

"Wait, is this yours?" she asked, amazed.

"Yes." Oliver smirked and unlocked the vehicle, walking over to open the door for Emma. "Shall we?"

Emma chuckled and slid inside. "You sure have changed a lot over these past months... I remember how awkward you were, and now look at you—a perfect gentleman."

"I can be a bad guy too..." Oliver said before getting in and turning to face Emma, locking his gaze with hers.

They both remained silent for a moment, staring at each other intently.

Their faces drew closer and closer together until finally, their lips touched.

As soon as they kissed, both felt the passionate heat rise within them. Oliver slipped his tongue inside Emma's mouth and began playing with hers.

At first, it was just light caresses and strokes, but gradually their kissing became more intense as they pressed their bodies together.

When they broke apart, both were breathing hard, their chests heaving against one another.

"That was... hot," Emma whispered between gasps before she realized something. "We are not going anywhere if we stay like this..."

Oliver smirked in response. "Yes, let's stop here for now. I need to save some energy for later, after all."

Emma bit her lower lip, knowing well enough what he meant by those words.

With that, they drove off towards the apartment complex where Rebecca was living with her parents. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

It took them no longer than twenty minutes to arrive at the place since there wasn't a lot of traffic on the roads at this hour.

Oliver stopped his car in front of the building and helped Emma exit. Then they made their way up the stairs to the third floor, where Rebecca resided.

Emma knocked on the door, waited for a few seconds, and received no response, but before she could knock again, the door opened with a creak, revealing Rebecca, wearing a plain black tank top and shorts.

Her usually tidy hair looked unkempt, and her eyes were red and puffy, as if she had been crying.

As soon as she saw Emma standing outside, she averted her gaze away from her, trying to avoid any kind of eye contact.

"What are you doing here, Ms. Dawson?" She asked without looking up from the floor.

Instead of answering, Emma turned towards Oliver and let him talk.

Oliver cleared his throat and spoke. "Hey, Rebecca..."

When she heard him speak, Rebecca slowly raised her head and noticed him standing there. Her face was filled with surprise and then turned into one of shame.

"Oliver... Why are you here...?" She stuttered, feeling embarrassed to have him see her in this state.

Oliver could sense how ashamed she felt, so he decided to put on a smile as he said, "Ms. Dawson told me about you, and I want to see how you're doing."

"I-I'm fine..." She averted her gaze away from him, as she couldn't bear to keep looking at him for long.

Seeing her like this, Oliver couldn't help but take a step closer towards her and wrap his arms around her. "Aren't you going to invite us in?"

He hugged her tight against his body, hoping that the warmth of his body would make her feel a little bit better.

However, this was apparently too much for Rebecca since tears started flowing down her cheeks uncontrollably.

She buried her face against his chest and wrapped her arms around him as she continued crying like a small child.

Oliver patted her back and stroked her hair, trying to comfort her. He also began whispering soothing words into her ear, "Shh... It's okay... I'm here... Just relax... I'll make it better for you."
