Not A Regressor-Chapter 357: Three Part Vacation (3)
“Uh... A-Are you okay, Mr. Oh-Jin?”
Isabella’s rampage, brought on by her bloodsucking, finally stopped around three in the afternoon. It had started at seven in the morning, so an entire eight hours had passed.
Kwon Oh-Jin looked like a dried-up squid left in the sea breeze. He stared blankly at the ceiling with hollow eyes, replaying the events of the past eight hours.
She’s not human.
No, she was a ravenous beast. Perhaps it was more accurate to call her a vampire gone mad for blood. Just recalling the sight of eyes turning crimson and devouring his blood like a demon from hell sent chills down his spine.
I literally almost died.
It hadn’t been some tender act of lovers reaffirming their affection, but felt more like a predator tearing into its prey without mercy. Even with a high-ranking Awakener’s superhuman physique, his whole body felt like a hammer had pounded it. This said more than enough about how rough it had been.
Like a patient waiting for the last leaf to fall, he glanced at the wreckage that used to be his bed. “Guess I’ll need a new bed.”
“I-I’m sorry! I’ll order one right now!” Isabella shot up and dashed out of the room.
Kwon Oh-Jin deeply sighed as he watched her go.
Yeah, doing this every day is impossible.
Not only was it time-consuming, but it also drained too much of his stamina and mentality. If they did this again, it would have to be after he fully recovered.
When he stepped out, Isabella stood there with her head hung low while clutching her phone.
“I placed the order, Mr. Oh-Jin...” she whispered barely audibly. “I’m sorry. I didn’t think my impulses would be that strong...”
“It’s fine. I was the one who said yes.”
“Are you feeling okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine now that I’ve rested a bit.”
Although his legs were still trembling, he couldn’t appear weak when Isabella looked so worried.
“Haa, I ruined your vacation, Mr. Oh-Jin.” She sighed deeply, drowning in guilt.
“It’s only three. We can still go out.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’m fine.” He chuckled lightly and rested his hand on her shoulder. “Is there anywhere you want to go?”
“Oh, hang on. I have somewhere in mind!” She checked her phone, and her eyes lit up. “Namsan Seoul Tower! I want to go there!”
“Seoul Tower?”
It was a popular date spot. Honestly, he hadn’t expected somewhere so normal from her.
“Yes! We can shop and eat something delicious!”
“You’re okay with that?” Kwon Oh-Jin briefly wondered if such an ordinary date spot was too plain for a noblewoman like her. Then again, the amusement park they had gone to before wasn’t exactly noble either.
Isabella gently hugged his arm with a shy smile. “Yes, I really want to go.”
Truth be told, it didn’t matter if it was Seoul Tower or anywhere else. She just wanted to walk alongside him and spend an ordinary day together like any other couple.
Chances like this aren’t common.
Her life was far from ordinary as the Colgrande Family head, the owner of dozens of world-class corporations, and a high-ranking Awakener on the verge of reaching eleven stars. Every moment of this vacation with Kwon Oh-Jin felt more precious than any treasure.
And I already wasted half of it.
She was filled with regret, but couldn’t do anything about that. From now on, she would enjoy this date to the fullest.
“All right, Namsan it is,” Kwon Oh-Jin said.
“Should I call Roberto?”
“No, I’ll drive.”
Kwon Oh-Jin hadn’t taken it out in a while, but the luxury car he had received for free from the Association still sat nicely in the underground garage.
“Hehe. This reminds me of Boppy.”
Boppy had carried them tirelessly through the Demonic District as smoothly as any luxury car.
“I hope Boppy is doing well.”
Kwon Oh-Jin had left Boppy behind in the Khan Kingdom before returning to Earth since they couldn’t practically raise a demonic beast several meters tall here.
Pushing aside the nostalgia, he grabbed the car keys that he hadn’t touched in ages. “Shall we go?”
“Yes!” Isabella leaned her head on his shoulder with a bright smile.
***
They reached Seoul Tower in no time.
“Wait, hold on.”
Before getting out, Kwon Oh-Jin used an illusion to disguise both their faces.
“This way, we don’t need sunglasses or masks.”
“Hmm. Are you sure our faces are covered?”
Taking out a hand mirror, she checked her face, but couldn’t see any difference.
“It only looks different to other people,” Kwon Oh-Jin explained.
“Oh my, that’s convenient.”
The thought that she could stick to him without worrying about other gazes made her smile. Instead of heading straight to the tower, Isabella first walked toward a nearby department store.
“Let’s buy you a few sets of clothes, Mr. Oh-Jin.”
“It’s cheaper to just order online.”
To Kwon Oh-Jin, clothes were literally consumables. Because he trained so intensely, wearing them a few times turned them into rags. He simply bought them in bulk, wore them for a while, and tossed them out.
“You’re a world-class hero now, so you need to dress the part,” Isabella said with a deliberately stern expression.
Kwon Oh-Jin couldn't help but laugh. She looked like a wife fussing over her sloppy husband. “Alright. I’ll leave the styling to you, Bella.”
“Haha. Leave it to me.”
Having grown up in high society from a young age, she knew better than anyone which brands and styles suited the dignity and formality of his position.
“This way, Mr. Oh-Jin.”
She took his arm and led him toward the department store’s luxury brand section.
What in the world are these prices...?
He actually suspected that they had accidentally added an extra zero to the price tags. Even though he could afford a truckload of these clothes, the old habits ingrained in him made every one of his cells instinctively reject purchasing them.
“This shirt would look good on you. Oh! This coat too. Oh my, come here and try this on, Mr. Oh-Jin!” Isabella excitedly dragged him around, picking out luxury items worth millions of won as if she were sweeping clothes off a clearance rack.
“Wait, slow—”
“Oh no, what should I do?! They all suit you. I can’t just choose one!”
While Isabella was clearly blinded by infatuation, Kwon Oh-Jin's physique also honestly outclassed most professional models. His physique, honed through extreme training and consistent care, paired with an above-average height and a slightly decadent-looking face, made him look good in anything from casual wear to tailored suits.
“I’ll take them all!” Snorting with excitement, Isabella pulled out a black card.
She practically swept up the entire luxury section on her lavish spending spree. The store associates approached her like servants greeting royalty.
“Please send all the clothes to my house later.”
“Yes, ma’am!”
The associates looked like they would give a salute as Isabella walked out, humming happily at the thought of dressing Kwon Oh-Jin to her liking.
“We finished shopping quicker than I expected.”
“Yeah... There’s no need to pick and choose when you buy everything like that.” Kwon Oh-Jin was about to comment on her senseless spending habits, but quickly recalled that her assets easily exceeded trillions of won.
He decided to stay quiet.
This reminds me of when someone called Bill Gates frugal for spending 5.5 billion won on vacation.
From Isabella’s perspective, sweeping up a department store’s luxury section was frugal.
“Since we finished shopping early, should we stop by a cafe?” Kwon Oh-Jin asked.
“Yes! I’d love that!”
The two walked into a nearby cafe in the department store.
“What kind of coffee do you want?”
“I’ll have what you’re having, Mr. Oh-Jin.”
“Alright.”
Standing at the counter, he scanned the menu. As expected of a famous coffee shop, they had a long list of options.
Of course, an iced Americano is the way to go.
A Korean would naturally choose this. Though Isabella was technically Italian.
Eh, it should be fine.
After all, coffee was coffee.
“Two iced Americanos,” the barista said.
With no one else in line, the drinks came out quickly. He carried them over to Isabella.
She frowned at the iced Americanos on the tray. “What is this, Mr. Oh-Jin?”
“Huh? It’s an iced Americano.”
“Oh my.” She smiled sweetly at him.
For some reason, he felt a chilling, murderous intent.
“This isn’t coffee. It’s water.”
Iced Americano is water? Since when?
“Haha. Koreans are strange, selling something like this and calling it coffee.” She looked at the cup as though it contained sewer water. “Get this right, Mr. Oh-Jin. There are only two types of coffee. Latte and espresso.”
“Uh, yeah. Sorry.” He suddenly recalled something he had read online.
Most Italians only drank espresso or lattes for coffee.
Well, I guess living in Korea for a few years doesn’t mean your ingrained habits change.
Isabella could now speak Korean without a translator, but she was still Italian at her core and raised in an entirely different culture. It made sense for there to be cultural differences.
“I’ll order you something else.”
“No, it’s fine. I’ll give it a try.”
As if determined to take on the challenge, Isabella placed the straw in her mouth and took a long sip of the iced Americano.
“Hmmm...”
He felt weirdly anxious seeing her face slightly scrunch, as if the taste wasn’t to her liking. It felt like serving shrimp to a girlfriend with a shrimp allergy. He felt bad for not taking into consideration her Italian background when choosing their drinks.
“Anyway, what do you want for dinner?” Kwon Oh-Jin asked.
“Ah, is there anything you’d like to eat, Mr. Oh-Jin?”
“I...”
No matter what, he had to make up for his mistake.
“Pizza. Yeah... I’m craving pizza.”
“Oh my, that sounds wonderful.” Isabella instantly brightened at the mention of pizza.
She usually insisted on Korean food to match Kwon Oh-Jin and Song Ha-Eun’s tastes. A chance to enjoy traditional Italian cuisine was a welcome change.
He celebrated at her cheerful expression.
Nice! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
“Let’s go quickly,” he said.
“Hm? Already?”
“We didn’t even have a proper lunch earlier.”
He hadn’t even had breakfast since she held him captive.
“Ah... r-right.”
Kwon Oh-Jin took Isabella to a famous pizza chain nearby.
“Sit here. I’ll order for us!”
“Alright, Mr. Oh-Jin.”
Marching to the counter with renewed determination to redeem his earlier mistake, he scanned the menu. They featured plenty of options, but one stood out with a bright sign that said, “Today’s Pick!”
“I’ll have that one, please.”
“Hawaiian pizza, correct?”
“Yes.”
The pizza looked delicious, topped with heaps of pineapple. He also added a meatball spaghetti to the order before returning to the table with a smile.
Isabella’s face hardened the moment she saw the pizza. “What is this...?”
“Huh? It’s pizza.”
“Yes, it is, but why is there pineapple on it?”
“Well, because it’s a Hawaiian—”
“Mr. Oh-Jin.” She turned toward him with an icy glare.
Her cold gaze sent a shiver down his spine.
“Kneel.”
“Huh...?”
Here?
“I said, kneel.”
He hadn’t redeemed himself at all. Instead, he had awakened the slumbering blood queen from her coffin.
