Chapter 946: Chapter 941: Risking It All for Him (Part 1)

"Don’t come any closer!" Sophie Smith shouted, her shrill voice barely audible in the torrential rainy night.

"Don’t move recklessly. Do you want to die?" Enzo Land shouted at her. If this woman died, how could he defeat Asher Land?

"Sophie, don’t do anything stupid!"

On the other end of the phone, Asher Land seemed to sense something; his eyes were bloodshot, as if driven by a bloodthirsty urge.

Fearing Sophie might act rashly, Enzo Land simply tossed the phone to her.

"Miss Smith, you cannot afford to die. Whatever the issue, discuss it properly with Third Young Master Land." Enzo Land said unexpectedly.

Sophie picked up the phone, trembling, and pointed the camera at herself. She looked at the disheveled woman on the screen and laughed. Ha, she looked ghastly hideous.

Asher Land, could this be the last time you see me?

And in such an ugly way?

She smiled faintly, but it was a smile worse than crying.

"Sophie, I forbid you to do anything stupid. I’ll come to save you, did you hear me?" Asher Land shouted at her.

"I don’t need you to save me. Aren’t we breaking up?" she said calmly.

"Who gave you permission to break up with me? We’ve already registered the marriage certificate, and you still want to break up?"

"But Asher Land, we truly have no chance of being together anymore."

Despairing, she closed her eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks. Fortunately, the rain would prevent him from seeing her tears.

Seeing Sophie’s guard down, Enzo Land decided to secretly approach her. Just as they got close, Sophie suddenly opened her eyes. The despair in them vanished completely, replaced by a mysterious smile on her lips.

She threw the phone at the man approaching her, hitting his head and causing blood to flow.

The phone fell to the ground, soaked in water, and the screen went black instantly.

Behind her was an abyss of unknown depth, maybe a fall from which she would never emerge.

Yet, she had no time to hesitate.

"Asher Land,..."

She whispered his name, closed her eyes, and rolled down the mountain.

Rocks of various sizes crushed beneath her, the brambles across the mountain tore her skin apart, and the continuous collisions made her feel as if her body was being torn to pieces.

A startled scream escaped as a tree branch pierced her eyes, and in that moment, her world descended into total darkness.

"Damn, she actually jumped!"

"This woman truly has no fear of death! She’s completely insane!"

"Lunatic!"

Enzo Land’s subordinates erupted in loud discussions, pointing their flashlights toward the bottom of the mountain.

"Old Master Land, what should we do now?" Unable to decide, they turned to Enzo Land for instructions.

What else could be done?

It was nighttime, the abyss was deep, and even if they went down now, they certainly wouldn’t find her. If they delayed any longer, Asher Land would arrive. After all, Eastern City was Asher Land’s domain; Enzo Land couldn’t take advantage in a head-on conflict.

"Retreat immediately!" Enzo Land commanded.

Everyone scrambled into the cars, started them up, and quickly vanished into the night.

Meanwhile, she was left at the foot of the mountain, like a dispensable ant.

The wild wind raged, thunder roared, and lightning flashed.

"Sophie!" Asher Land shouted several times, but there was no response anymore. The steering wheel in his hand veered uncontrollably to the left, and the car got stuck in the muddy mountain roads.
