Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 807 - 803: Did You Make Your Son Cry?
"Edward, Miss Yates." Sophie quickly suppressed her surprise, calmly calling out their names. After speaking, she went over to the director to greet him. Besides them, there were two young male actors whose names she couldn’t recall.
"This time, the cast includes some new faces, of course, excluding Sophie and Edward," the director said. "It’s a school drama, so it’s better to use fresh, youthful faces..."
Among them, only Sophie and Edward, playing the lead roles, had notable works; the rest were relatively unknown.
Isabella had even asked Edward to seek out connections layer upon layer to get her into this crew.
Edward’s gaze lingered on Sophie. He was always a discreet person who wouldn’t rudely stare at someone. But not having seen her for so long, some emotions were simply beyond his control.
The director talked for about an hour before wrapping up.
"Does everyone want to go for a meal together?" the director suggested.
"Director, I’m sorry, I don’t have time at noon." Sophie thought, after Asher dropped Alexander off at school, she wondered how things went; she wanted to find Asher to ask him.
"As expected, she acts as if she’s too important." Isabella mocked sarcastically.
Sophie didn’t intend to engage with her and simply bid farewell to everyone except Isabella before leaving.
Edward stood in place, not quite sure how he felt. Perhaps he should have gotten used to this kind of her by now.
Ever since Asher appeared in her life, she had slowly started changing, becoming someone entirely unfamiliar to him.
Perhaps the unfamiliarity he felt was just her growing distant from him.
But who can be blamed for that? If it weren’t for him suddenly being with Isabella, she wouldn’t have felt disappointed and disillusioned with him, right?
...
Sophie hurriedly dialed Asher once she got back into her car.
"Today... how did things go with Alexander?" She was quite uncertain about the situation between the father and son, usually fraught with tension.
"He cried."
"..."
Sophie was somewhat speechless, "You made your son cry?"
"Ha." A light laugh came from the other end, "He chose to cry, there’s nothing I can do."
Asher was naturally bad at comforting children.
"Asher!" Sophie’s tone suddenly became stern, "Don’t you care at all about how to improve your relationship with Alexander? Do you really want Alexander to call you ’Uncle’ for the rest of his life?"
There was a moment of silence on the other end, and Sophie frowned.
"Asher, are you still there?"
"Yes." His voice carried a hint of fatigue, "Sophie, of course, I don’t want Alexander to call me Uncle. But after being absent for so long from your lives, he just can’t accept me. Give me some time, okay?"
Asher’s words were full of sincerity; he spoke in a way that made Sophie feel a bit uneasy.
She initially thought this awkward man wouldn’t so quickly see things clearly and admit his mistakes.
Sophie didn’t say anything more and quietly hung up the phone.
Now, she only hoped for the day Alexander calls Asher ’Dad’ to come quickly; she looked forward to it more than anyone else.
