Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 651 - 647: Do You Feel Pitiful? (5)
When Sophie Smith was half asleep, a call came from Asher Land.
She reached out from under the covers, fumbled around the bedside, and finally grabbed her phone.
"Hello,..." Her voice was lazy, tinged with obvious drowsiness, "Asher Land, what’s up?"
Even though there was no caller ID showing, and he hadn’t spoken yet, Sophie knew it had to be him.
If you asked her why, she could only say it was just her sense and intuition about him.
"Were you sleeping?" he softly countered.
"Isn’t that obvious..." Sophie muttered quietly, "It’s already very late."
"Well, what if I say I want to see you right now?"
Sophie opened her eyes, reached out, and turned on the light switch.
Asher felt a bit disheartened when there was no response from the other end for a long time, and his faint sigh still reached Sophie’s ears.
"Go back to sleep, I won’t bother you," Asher said as he prepared to hang up the call.
"But, I’ve already put on my clothes..." Sophie adjusted her makeup in front of the mirror, "Where are you now? I’ll come find you."
"Now? Are you sure?"
"Asher, since when did you become so long-winded? Yes, now. I’m coming to find you," Sophie said word by word.
A faint, barely noticeable delight appeared on Asher’s face. He hung up the call and sent the address to her phone.
Sophie crouched low, followed the warm yellow light of the wall lamp, and carefully and quietly walked downstairs.
She went to the garage, got in the car, and headed straight for the location Asher mentioned.
Normally, she drove very steadily, never fast, but this time, she drove so quickly that when Asher saw she had arrived in just over thirty minutes, he was taken aback.
"Sophie, drive slower," he advised, concerned.
"Got it, I know..." Sophie sincerely admitted her mistake to him, "Get in the car."
Asher simply opened the backseat door and sat inside, leaving Sophie a bit confused, "Why not sit in the front?"
"The back is better, didn’t you know?"
"Hmm?"
Sophie still didn’t understand.
"I said, the back is better for ’doing it’, didn’t you know?" Asher shamelessly repeated his words.
Ugh!
"Turn off the engine and come sit in the back," Asher commanded.
"I don’t want to."
"Don’t want to? Are you going to force me to come over?"
Hearing Asher’s tone, Sophie got a bit annoyed too.
"Asher, I’m not your tool for venting your desires. Did you call me out here just because you wanted to do something with me in the middle of the night?"
Of course not.
Asher shook his head in frustration, he was just used to speaking that way.
"I’m not going to do anything to you; I just don’t want to go anywhere else right now, and I want to sit quietly with you for a while. Indulge me, okay?" His tone softened a bit. Then he opened the car door, walked around to her side, and unbuckled her seatbelt.
"One hand is quite inconvenient for me, don’t make me carry you out, okay?" A slight smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, and inexplicably, all of Sophie’s earlier displeasure vanished.
She obediently got out of the car and sat in the backseat.
"Asher, what’s really going on?"
Based on her interactions and understanding of him, from his expression, she clearly sensed that he had encountered something upsetting.
