"Eva, there’s traffic on the road. I’m sorry, please wait another 30 or 40 minutes. I’ll be there soon," Sophie Smith quickly explained.
"Are you coming to pick me up by yourself?"
"No."
"Oh my God, am I that honored? Even President Land is coming to pick me up," Eva Miller’s excited voice filled the car without needing speakerphone. She glanced awkwardly at Nolan Davis, who seemed unbothered and merely nodded, signaling her to continue her call without minding him.
She said she’s not coming alone, so why did she automatically think Asher Land would be with her as well?

"Oh..." Eva sounded quite disappointed, thinking her status must have somehow elevated.
