Chapter 637: Chapter 635 Keep Striving【2 More Updates】

For a moment, Liam Spencer was at a loss for words. Alright then! He acknowledged having her as a relative, but as for friends, he really didn’t see her as one.

If she weren’t Maya Spencer’s cousin, he wouldn’t have bothered saying what he just said, nor would he have spoken well of her in front of Christopher Scott last night. Whether she had any fate with Christopher depended on her own abilities.

He looked at Sophia Bennett’s aggrieved face, waved his hand, and said, "You go out first. When Maya wakes up, you can share it with her."

"Alright, alright!" Sophia nodded, smiling as she got up from the floor.

However, she was a bit unwilling to leave just like that since she hadn’t shared her happiness with anyone yet.

So, she bit her lower lip, snuck around the big bed, walked over to Liam’s side, and handed her phone to him, bragging, "Liam, look, Christopher isn’t mad at me. He replied to my message."

Liam glanced at Sophia’s message and, with a grin that didn’t reach his eyes, said, "Uh-huh, keep up the good work."

Although Liam only glanced at Sophia’s message, he finished reading it. He knew that Christopher replied perfunctorily out of fear she’d show up unannounced, but he didn’t expose her and chose to encourage her instead.

He thought, maybe if Sophia keeps at it, she might really pull Christopher out of his sorrow over Seven Murray, making him focus on her rather than mourn Seven’s departure.

Emboldened by Liam’s encouragement, Sophia left Maya’s bedroom in high spirits, clutching her phone, and returned to her room.

About half an hour later, when the three youngsters were sitting at the dining table having breakfast, Sophia excitedly passed her phone to Maya, letting her see Christopher’s reply.

After Maya read the message, she glanced at Sophia and said abruptly, "Christopher replied because he’s afraid you’d go to his place."

Hearing Maya’s bluntness, Sophia instantly pouted, saying, "I know, but it’s better than him not replying at all, right?"

"Yes, yes, yes! But who was the one saying she wouldn’t like Christopher anymore and then texted him first thing in the morning? What’s the deal with that?" Maya teased Sophia deliberately as she bragged.

Seeing Maya reveal her slip-up, Sophia giggled and explained, "After a night’s sleep, I realized I was wrong! I still like him!"

Maya looked at Sophia’s silly yet shy expression, took a deep breath, turned to Liam next to her, and asked seriously, "Liam, what’s wrong with my cousin that Christopher can’t see? I’d love to see where he’d find someone who likes him as much as she does."

Although Sophia can be quite annoying at times, she is mostly adorable.

Seeing Maya asking him this, Liam was torn between laughing and crying. To cheer the two girls up, he reached out his right hand and pinched Maya’s cheek, saying, "Indeed! The girls in your family are all adorable and good. It’s Christopher who lacks vision. If he misses your cousin, he’ll surely regret it later."

"Exactly!" Maya pouted, echoing angrily.

Across the table, Sophia’s smile was even brighter than flowers when she saw the recognition from Maya and Liam.

In an instant, it was like she was revived, full of confidence in herself.

Even so, she still didn’t dare to act recklessly or provoke Christopher, keeping to her routine of three messages a day and one phone call a week that lasted no more than three minutes.

Even if Christopher didn’t speak much, she wouldn’t give up on calling. She always prepared well in advance, drafted her points, and chatted with Christopher about important matters, always bidding goodbye right at the three-minute mark, not a second more, not a second less.

Occasionally joining social gatherings with Maya and Liam, whenever she saw Christopher, she dared not speak out of line. If he didn’t want to engage, she’d say just a few words and then stop, merely sitting nearby and watching him intently.

After the drugging incident, Sophia matured significantly and no longer made unreasonable scenes. Even though she still liked clinging to Christopher, she became quieter and more endearing than before.

Such careful days continued until a year and a half later on Maya’s 24th birthday. Sophia was still persistently pursuing Christopher, her feelings just as strong as initially with not an ounce less.

Today was Maya’s 24th birthday and also the second birthday celebration that everyone joined for her.

At Southern River Club in the evening, the sunset streamed through the windows, painting everything in red, expressing everyone’s happiness.

The day was filled with many things worth celebrating: Noah Owen and Henry Reid’s son, at 1 year and 3 months old, finally spoke, calling out "Dad" and "Mom," moving Noah to tears of joy.

Ella Turner and Elijah Reed also completed their wedding banquet last month, and today marked exactly 30 days married.

A group gathered around the birthday cake, joyfully singing the birthday song and exchanging blessings.

After the birthday song, Seven Murray held Ian Hobbs’s hand tightly, with a shy smile as she announced to everyone, "I also have some news today; I’m pregnant, five weeks already."

Seven and Ian’s wedding was a lively event held last August.

"Seven, congratulations on becoming a mom." Noah hurriedly clinked glasses with Seven, congratulating her.

"Seven, Ian, congratulations!" Maya also followed suit in expressing her well wishes.

Following that, Seven and Ian received congratulations from everyone, including Christopher.

Beside Maya, Sophia took a deep breath, carefully watching Christopher, observing his emotions to see if he was feeling any loss.

However, she didn’t see any trace of loss on Christopher’s face, only his generous blessings to Seven and Ian.

After a year and a half, Christopher had completely moved on from the shadow of Seven, fully letting her go, and his blessings for Seven and Ian were genuinely from his heart, merely hoping Seven could be this happy all her life.

Even though he had let go of Seven, during the past year and more, he still had no eyes for Sophia. She never entered his life, let alone his heart.

Just like now, Sophia had been watching him for a good half hour, but Christopher’s gaze never lingered on her, not even in his peripheral vision.

Sophia looked at Christopher’s nonchalance, his radiant smile, biting her lip gently and exhaling a resigned sigh, not even daring to approach Christopher for fear he might get angry.

For a moment, Sophia felt a bit dejected, thinking, it’s already been a year and a half, Seven is married and pregnant now, so why hasn’t Christopher noticed her presence yet?

With her mouth pouted, Sophia stared straight at Christopher, longing for him to glance at her, even if it were unintentional. But she still didn’t get it.
