No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 402 - 400 I Can Learn [5 Updates]
Elijah Reed watched the girl cry her heart out, feeling something indescribable inside.
He was an only child and didn’t understand the sibling bond, but seeing Ella Turner so heartbroken, he suddenly understood a bit.
He looked at her swollen eyes and said gently, "From now on, I’ll be your brother."
Ella Turner, listening to Elijah’s comfort, shook her head and said, "It’s different, completely different. You’re not Ethan, you won’t understand him."
Seeing the girl reject him, Elijah got anxious, immediately sat down beside her and said seriously, "Although I’ve never been a brother, I can learn. If anyone bullies you, I’ll stand up for you; if someone bites you, I’ll bite them back for you; if you don’t want to work, I’ll support you; when I get paid, I’ll give you spending money, and take you to eat good food. How’s that?"
Elijah’s promises made Ella cry even harder, but she didn’t reject his goodwill.
Then, she heard Elijah say, "The BOSS is also like a brother. I can learn from him too."
After saying that, he waved his little hand and said, "The BOSS and the fifth miss are different, but I will definitely study hard and be your good brother."
Elijah’s earnestness warmed Ella’s heart, she wiped the tears off her face and suddenly hugged Elijah.
She said, "Assistant Reed, thank you."
Momentarily, Elijah was stunned. After snapping out of it, he lifted his small hand, patted Ella’s back to comfort her, "No need for thanks, it’s what a brother should do."
Elijah’s comfort made Ella cry even harder. She closed her eyes, truly imagining him as Ethan, continuously calling him ’brother.’
Listening to her call him ’brother’ over and over, Elijah gently hugged her, stroked her head, and said, "Ella, brother will always be by your side."
"Brother, brother." Ella hugged Elijah, bursting into tears.
Elijah looked at the girl crying in his arms, never realizing before how important he was to someone.
So, he held Ella all night without letting her go.
...
At 8 o’clock the next morning...
When Liam Spencer woke up, Maya Spencer was still cuddling him in her sleep. To not disturb her, he held his bladder till 10 AM. Once Maya opened her eyes, he hurried to the bathroom.
When Liam came out of the bathroom, Maya had already gotten up from the bed and was changing clothes.
Liam saw this and quickly pulled her, asking, "Maya, you haven’t slept for four days. Rest a little longer."
"Third brother, I need to see Ella."
"Sleep for another two hours; we’ll have lunch together." Liam didn’t agree with her, his heart ached seeing Maya neglect her health.
"Third brother, I’m begging you, let me go! Even if I lay down now, I wouldn’t be able to sleep." Maya explained helplessly.
Listening to the girl’s explanation, Liam suddenly pulled her into his arms, whispered in her ear, and asked, "Maya, what should I do with you?"
Before, Liam always thought she was cold and indifferent. But after being with Maya for a long time, he realized she was more affectionate and deeply emotional than anyone. It’s just that she wouldn’t easily give her affection to others.
Looking at the fragile Maya, Liam didn’t want anyone to upset her, and he especially didn’t want to do it himself.
"Third brother, please let me go! I feel uneasy at home."
"Hugging and crying with Ella will make you feel worse."
Even though Liam opposed, he still accompanied Maya to Ella’s place.
When they arrived at Ethan’s apartment, Elijah was holding a bowl of noodles, urging Ella to eat.
Seeing this, Maya quickly took the bowl from Elijah, picked up some noodles with the chopsticks, blew on them twice, and said, "Ella, be good, Ethan is right beside you watching. If you don’t eat, he’ll be unhappy."
Seeing Maya and Liam arrived, Ella forced a smile and explained, "I’m not hungry."
"Ella." Maya, feeling wronged, held the bowl and placed the noodles next to her mouth.
Ella didn’t open her mouth, so Maya kept holding the noodles there until Ella took a bite, and then Maya smiled at her with relief.
Ethan stood aside, watching Ella finally eat, and couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief.
Just then, his phone suddenly rang. Seeing it was the hospital calling, he quickly went into the study to take the call.
He was afraid if anything happened, Ella and Maya would get agitated again.
After finishing the call, he leaned towards Liam’s ear and whispered, "BOSS, Ethan’s colleague, Kay, has woken up. I’m going to take a look."
"No rush here, go back and rest first. The patient just woke up and needs to recover too." Liam had noticed Elijah’s fatigue over the past few days, so he added, "Little Lewis is downstairs, I’ll have him drive you over. Wherever you need to go these days, let him drive you."
Liam was worried Elijah was too tired and feared another accident might happen.
"BOSS, I’m fine, I’m not tired. Little Lewis is your driver, how could I let him drive for me?" Elijah was embarrassed.
"I’m not in the mood to argue with you, go downstairs first, I’ll call Little Lewis."
"Alright," Elijah accepted anyway.
After Elijah left, Maya turned around and asked, "Where did you let Elijah go?"
"There are some matters at the company I asked Elijah to handle."
"Maya, you and the dean don’t have to come here every day, I’m really fine." Ella felt guilty hearing the word ’company.’
Because of her family matters, the chairman of the Owen Clan Group hadn’t gone to the office in days.
"Eat your noodles." Confronted with Ella’s bravado, Maya wouldn’t accept it.
...
Downstairs, driver Little Lewis received a call from Liam and quickly drove Elijah back.
Due to exhaustion over the past few days, Elijah fell asleep in the car. Once home, he took a shower, lay on the bed for a few hours, then got up to go to the hospital.
In the VIP ward of the hospital, Kay’s family gathered around him, asking questions.
Lying on the bed, upon seeing Elijah entering, Kay tried to sit up but found himself too weak to do so, and could only stare at Elijah.
Seeing this, Kay’s family also turned to look at Elijah.
When everyone quieted down, Kay called out in surprise, "Elijah."
Elijah, seeing the astonished Kay, took steady steps towards the ward and calmly asked, "Are you okay?"
"I’m alright, why are you here?" Elijah had only met Kay twice; they weren’t familiar.
But even so, Elijah’s name was notorious in their circle.
Hearing Kay’s question, Elijah calmly said, "I want to understand some details about the car accident."
After saying this, he felt he was too abrupt and immediately explained, "Because Ethan’s sister and our third young mistress are close friends, our president is very concerned about this and wants to uncover the truth of the car accident."
Listening to Elijah’s explanation, Kay’s expression turned particularly serious, as if the accident angered him.
