No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1772: Arnold Simmons Extra (Finale)
"If you’re tired, just sleep for a while. I’ll wake you when we arrive."
He didn’t say where they were going.
Hannah didn’t ask either, just nodded, murmured softly, and closed her eyes.
She had no idea how long she slept, but when she woke in a daze, the car had already stopped.
It seemed they had arrived.
The passenger door was opened, and Arnold Simmons leaned in to gently lift her from the car.
Out of instinct, she snuggled into his embrace, her voice soft and husky from sleep, "Where are we?"
Arnold kissed her warm cheek and whispered, "We’re home."
Hannah was stunned, not quite processing it yet.
Arnold smiled as he ruffled her hair, placing the key in her hand, "Go ahead and open the door."
The surrounding was silent, with trees planted along the road budding fresh shoots, a faint tender green. The night breeze carried a subtle floral scent, gently dispersing the clouds in the sky.
A full moon adorned the night sky.
Hannah stole a glance at Arnold standing beside her before taking the key to open the door.
As she pushed the door open, she was greeted by a large expanse of blooming red roses. The roses, under the frost-white moonlight, seemed to be draped in a thin veil of white, swaying softly with the breeze.
The air was filled with the scent of flowers.
The large banyan tree in the corner was still there, its leaves lush and branches extending outward, with a swing hanging beneath it. A red gift box sat on the swing, and as it swayed gently in the wind, leaves would occasionally fall.
It was like a fairy tale—an enchantment cast by an elf—transforming an old, dilapidated cottage into a charming, dreamlike castle, everything just as Hannah remembered.
Roses, courtyard, swing.
Arnold embraced her, whispering, "Do you like it?"
She saw the pair of fiery red lanterns hanging on the door, their light warm yet making her eyes sting with emotion, "I love it very much."
Arnold retrieved the box from the swing.
Inside were fireworks.
All the ones Hannah had set off in this courtyard before.
Including her favorite sparklers.
Hannah was delighted, "Where did you get them from?"
With several months still to go before the Spring Festival, there were no places selling fireworks on the streets. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Arnold curved his lips into a smile, "That’s a secret."
The fireworks in his hand ignited, blooming like a flower in his palm, bright and brilliant like meteors streaking across the night sky, reflecting in her pure eyes.
Amidst the starlight, she smiled sweetly at him.
Standing in the rose garden, she waved the fireworks in her hand, everything around seemingly dim, leaving only her smile clear, like an elf accidentally wandering into the human world under moonlight.
It was as beautiful as a dream.
Perhaps it was only a dream.
"Arnold!" She sat on the swing, waving at him with a bright, radiant smile, "I want to see fireworks."
There were still many in the box.
"Okay." Watching her smile, in that moment, Arnold had only one thought in his mind.
Even if it was a dream, so what? He would rather be immersed in this dream for a lifetime, together with her.
From the day he was born, his life was shrouded in darkness, rejected, despised, considered a disgrace.
He was like an outcast, wandering on the edge of the world, immersed in hatred.
Yet her appearance was the fireworks blossoming in his heart, the only bright color in his desolate world.
From the first moment he saw her, his heart had already been moved.
After that, willingly surrendering, cherishing her more than life itself.
