No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1705: Arnold Simmons Side Story (71)
Everyone was waiting for the chance to teach the other team a lesson in "how to be a decent person" during the basketball game.
In the following days of the competition, although Class 7 didn’t face Class 1 again, the rivalry between the top-scoring classes and the regular classes was also stirred up.
The regular classes had many more students, and sometimes when their own class wasn’t playing, they would cheer for other regular classes.
Tessa also dragged Hannah to a few games, but since it was too crowded to get inside, they didn’t return.
As the basketball games for the first and second years came to an end, the study pressure for the seniors increased significantly. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Arnold Simmons also put away his usual laziness, listened in class, completed homework on time, and took the weekly tests.
Of course, he still habitually didn’t submit homework or test papers.
But with the heavy coursework now, no one paid attention to him anymore.
The last day of the year coincided with Friday, and the grade director finally relented, allowing everyone to use the evening self-study session for a New Year’s Eve celebration.
Each class could prepare their own performances, and they were allowed to bring their own snacks.
Class 2 quickly discussed and decided that the night’s activity would be watching a movie.
Those who wanted to watch the movie could stay in their classroom, while those who wished to study could go to the next-door study room.
Before the self-study session began, people brought big and small bags of snacks to the classroom, and a few gathered around the podium to select the movie for the night.
Some suggested watching a new sci-fi movie that had just been released, while others wanted to watch the New Year’s Eve gala.
As the debate went on, Joe Taylor, who had secured a VIP seat near the podium two days ago, spoke up, "All these ideas are boring. If you ask me, we should watch a horror movie—it’s more thrilling!"
At his suggestion, some countered and some agreed.
"Watching a horror movie for New Year’s? Are you okay, Joe?"
"What’s the big deal? It’s just a horror movie," Joe retorted, challenging them, "You’re not scared to watch it, are you?"
He said with a mischievous grin, his comment about being ’scared’ instantly subdued the voices of those who had objected.
The few who opposed could only turn their gaze to the class president, who was selecting the movie.
The class president adjusted his glasses and cleared his throat, "I agree with Joe Taylor’s opinion."
"Are you for real, class president?"
In Class 2, the class president had always been the academic role model for everyone, always carrying books wherever he went, even during meals, as if he was turning each minute into a day’s worth.
"Although studying is essential, it’s also okay to relax appropriately," the class president said.
And so, the proposal to watch a horror movie was settled.
Joe Taylor took it upon himself to choose a horror movie with a killer atmosphere that could make people cry.
Indeed, he made a successful choice.
Because the horror movie he chose was set in a school, coincidentally, it also featured a class of students gathered together to watch a horror movie.
Before the movie started, the curtains in the classroom were all pulled shut, and the balcony door was also closed; Joe Taylor was even asking from the podium if anyone wanted to go to the next-door study room.
Of course, there was nobody.
"Joe, hurry up and play it, or we won’t finish in time."
"No worries, no worries," Joe glanced at the movie duration, "I’ve calculated it—we’ll definitely be able to finish tonight."
After saying this, he hit the play button and scurried down from the podium.
The movie officially began.
Tessa just happened to sneak in through the back door, holding a bag full of snacks, and startled a girl at the back of the room.
