No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 159: That’s the Villain
His voice was soft, full of self-pity.
He was trying to appeal for her sympathy, a tactic he often employed around Hannah Winter with great success.
But this time, it failed.
Even though Tiffany Lynch did feel some remorse, she couldn’t possibly leave George River now. All she could offer was, "I’m sorry."
The call ended.
Louis Snyder’s face instantly turned cold, his clenched fist hitting the side seat forcefully.
George River, always George River.
Despite his sustained efforts, he was still unable to outcompete this man.
Tiffany could be openly affectionate and dependent on George River, but with him, she always treated him like a little brother.
But he’s grown up. He’s a man too.
What does George River have besides money?
Why should a man who is unfaithful in love and wavering in his feelings monopolize Tiffany?
The ball continued, the inside lights dim, the air filled with hints of ambiguity, and the whispers of people chatting.
Roy Yarn managed to find Hannah a brand-new pair of slippers. He had done his best.
Hannah didn’t mind, taking off her high heels and putting them on.
As she sat on a chair, with Roy Yarn standing by her side, she saw a familiar figure hiding in the corner - Louis Snyder.
Given his character, seeing his crush standing beside another man must be heart-wrenching.
But he could endure it. He knew how to plot.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have established a somewhat ambiguous "sister-brother" relationship with Tiffany Lynch in such a short time.
All tricks that he once used on her.
Old tricks. Nothing new.
Just when Louis Snyder was about to leave, he turned around and revealed a somewhat gloomy face.
Hannah hurriedly tugged at the white suit beside her, pointing for him to see, and asked him, "Do you recognize that person over there?"
Roy Yarn turned his head. He was still holding the small cake he had fetched for Hannah. He looked in the direction that Hannah was pointing, it took him a long while to shake his head and say: "I don’t recognize him, never seen him before." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Hannah lifted her head to look at him, her lips curled up in an enchanting yet seductive smile, "That’s right. You don’t know him, he’s a bad guy."
"A bad guy?" Roy Yarn looked down at Hannah in confusion.
Hannah nodded, "Yes, he is a bad guy, remember him."
Roy Yarn was silent for a while before he spoke again, "Did he bully you?"
Hannah faltered, looked at him for a moment, blinked, and said earnestly, "Yes, he bullied me."
Roy Yarn smiled, his smile harmless and naive, "Alright, then he’s a bad guy."
So naïve.
Easy to manipulate.
Hannah thought to herself while eating the cake he had brought.
Yet, funnily enough, Roy Yarn was still standing there, grinning like an idiot while looking at Hannah. It reminded him of his pet white cat, Elizabeth, who began grooming her paws after every meal.
The resemblance was funny.
In the corner, the soft and delicate girl in a black slim waist short dress, with stunning loose black hair exuding an aura of casual laziness and aloofness, was wearing an out-of-place pair of white slippers. If you looked carefully, you could even see the little yellow duck pattern on them.
She was biting on her silver spoon, looking up to tug at the young man’s clothes, her brows furrowed slightly, her eyes radiant and petulant.
The young man beside her was obedient. He bent down to listen to her, his ears turning red. He obediently left to fetch more drinks.
A white suit, a black dress, an image of elegance and luxury, capriciousness and obedience.
A stark scene of siblings from a wealthy family in the frame, raising no other fanciful thoughts in anyone’s mind.
