No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1576: Not Much Knowledge
Someone was walking on the stairs, the footsteps heavy, as if dragging something.
The sound of metal scraping the ground was getting closer, and the previously heated argument had stopped.
The woman looked skeptical, "Honey, did you hear something?"
The man was still fuming, too angry to pay attention to any noises, and snapped back loudly, "My ears are damn near deaf from your yelling, how can I hear anything else!"
The woman frowned, "I’m serious, listen carefully."
Although the man hadn’t calmed down yet, seeing his wife’s expression, he decided to quiet down for a moment.
But after listening intently, indeed, there was no sound.
"Are you hallucinating?"
"No!" The woman emphasized, "There really is a sound outside, don’t believe me, go open the door and see." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
The woman firmly believed she hadn’t misheard and pushed her skeptical husband to go check the door.
However, the man wasn’t courageous, perhaps recalling the narrow and dim corridor outside, and the flickering sound-activated lights, he felt a bit uneasy but feigned composure, "Enough, enough, why are you so fussy, hurry up and go to sleep, haven’t you said you wanted to watch the sunrise tomorrow!"
The man changed the subject, moving away from the room’s rusted and peeling iron door.
It seemed as if one could still see the flickering lights from the corridor through the crack in the door.
Truly eerie.
Seeing her husband lie down on the bed, the woman had no choice but to give up.
She stood still for a while as if listening for noises outside the door.
But this time, indeed, there was nothing, so she went into the bathroom to wash up before bed.
Ten minutes later.
The woman came out from the washroom, and before turning off the lights, she took one more look at the tightly closed room door.
Thinking it over, she still felt unsafe and walked over to lock the door from the inside.
However, before her hand could even touch the lock, the door in front of her slowly opened.
The grating creak echoed through the whole corridor, followed by the woman’s piercing scream...

"And then! What happened next!"
The boy who stopped at the crucial moment faced condemnation from the entire dormitory.
That included Jay Brown.
He had always been interested in Hannah, but in the past, it was only her combat style that intrigued him, now he was interested in everything about her.
The condemned boy spread his hands innocently, "It’s not that I don’t want to continue, it’s just I only know up to this point."
Hannah and Wayne Lane could have filled a whole adventure novel with the tales of their outings, but because of Hannah, a lot of documents about her were destroyed, including the records of this particular experience.
The reason the boy knew this much was because of the senior to junior transmission in the academy.
This story was also narrated by a senior back in the day.
Samuel Hoffman was incredibly curious, having only heard half the story was like torture to him, scratching at his heart and lungs, his whole body in discomfort, "You don’t have to give the details, just say what you know."
"Yeah, yeah," the junior agreed.
He was thinking of writing down the story today, so he could continue to pass it on once he had junior roommates in the future.
The storyteller was finally pestered to the point where he had no choice but to say, "Let me recall, give me a moment to remember..."
After all, the events had happened so long ago, few people knew about them, and even fewer knew the details.
Unless they asked Wayne Lane.
But who would dare?
Ever since the incident with Hannah, no one dared to mention that name in Wayne Lane’s presence.
