No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1573: Asking Around
She took Wayne Lane with her to study the wall outside the window.
Teenage girls always have all sorts of strange ideas, "Wayne Lane, do you think there might be a secret room on the other side?"
Wayne Lane said no, "The light shines through the cracks in the wall; it’s probably just a wall to block the window."
"Then why block the window? Is it to keep me from going out?"
Hannah’s thoughts took a turn.
Wayne Lane didn’t know either, because his room was quite normal; the window could be opened as usual, and there was no wall outside. He could see the ferry crossing and also the sunset.
"It’s not necessarily to keep you from going out; it might also be to prevent something from coming in."
Wayne Lane simply went along with Hannah’s line of thought.
Just hearing this speculation was terrifying.
Especially since the room’s door was still open, and the hallway was flickering with light.
But Hannah was somewhat excited, "Do you think there might be monsters here?"
Wayne Lane drew the curtains, turned to look at Hannah. Her lips seemed to carry a smile, not obvious, but her tone was quite cheerful, "Are you talking about yourself?"
Hannah: "..."
Wayne Lane returned to his own room, and after a while, he took his key and came over, "Let’s switch rooms."
Although it was unclear what the wall outside the window was for, it was safest to switch rooms.
Hannah didn’t dwell on it and took Wayne Lane’s key, "Why don’t we go ask the old man downstairs to clarify?"
Wayne Lane thought of that old man whose whole being radiated an unsettling and discordant vibe and frowned, "No need, we’re leaving tomorrow."
Hannah pondered and agreed.
If there were indeed issues with this hotel, it would no longer concern them.
After switching rooms, Hannah went downstairs with Wayne Lane.
As they passed through the first floor, they encountered tourists who had come to check in.
They seemed to be visitors from other planets as well.
There were quite a few of them, at least a dozen.
The same strange old man from yesterday was managing the check-in.
As Hannah walked by, she gave an extra glance; the old man was bowing his head, his movements slow and stiff.
Indescribably discordant.
Today in Bruce, it started raining again.
The air was full of the moistness of rain, with a slightly sticky feeling, making it very uncomfortable. Even the wind that blew was not cool, but a kind of muggy heat.
Hannah followed beside Wayne Lane, put on the hood of her sweatshirt, and when she bowed her head, only her smooth chin could be seen.
"Where are we going?"
She simply followed Wayne Lane’s steps while bowing her head, too lazy to even look up.
She didn’t like the wind in Bruce.
It stirred up irritability in her heart.
"Let’s check around nearby and casually inquire about the auction," Wayne Lane said.
Although Dream Ling Flowers were not particularly rare, they were not commonly seen in a place like Bruce.
It may be easy to purchase, but they didn’t want to draw attention.
After all, to outsiders, they appeared as nothing more than an ordinary sibling duo.
Despite the rain today, there were still many tourists braving the weather to walk the streets; by chance, they were on the busiest one.
Hannah’s view was filled with a jumble of footsteps; she was having a hard time keeping up with Wayne Lane.
"Wayne Lane, can you slow down a bit?"
Wayne Lane ahead stopped walking, and with a somewhat helpless look in his eyes, hesitated for a moment, but eventually walked back, "Can’t you walk with your head up?"
It’s not like you’re afraid to be seen.
Hannah tugged at the two strings on her sweatshirt’s hood and made up an excuse.
