No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1563: Have a Good Talk
The dormitory was plunged in darkness.
The academy rules stipulate six people per dorm room.
The space in the dormitory isn’t large, but it also isn’t too cramped; everyone could lie on their beds, lower their voices, and still hear each other clearly.
"Samuel Hoffman’s way of thinking obviously has some issues, don’t tell me you guys can’t see that."
Everyone thought about it and realized it was indeed the case.
But Samuel Hoffman was not pleased, "What do you mean my way of thinking, what’s wrong with me, am I not smart?"
He wasn’t bad, okay.
The others just smiled and didn’t respond.
Samuel Hoffman felt his confidence was being undermined, "Do you think everyone has a brain like Jay Brown, who can casually study and reach a peak simulation combat score of fifty thousand?"
At first, he didn’t really like Jay Brown, thinking he was just pretending to be cool.
But later, when he realized Jay Brown was genuinely awesome, he changed his mind.
After all, having such a scholarly powerhouse as a roommate was indeed something to be proud of.
Since Jay Brown was mentioned, naturally, the conversation shifted towards the quiet Jay Brown.
"Jay Brown, what do you think?"
Jay Brown lay on his back, hands tucked under his head, staring at the ceiling, and succinctly responded, "I have no particular thoughts."
"What do you mean by no particular thoughts?" Samuel Hoffman muttered, "Well, I can see there’s an issue."
In fact, everyone could see the issue.
"Did you notice that the notice specifically mentioned at the end, the other students who are left can also optionally go to the border to participate in training?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Training, what training?"
"In the past, there were similar notices like allowing mecha academy students to watch combat up close to gain experience, or assembling teams to go out on missions, but those were things from a hundred years ago."
Mecha academy education has always been about "learning through practice as theory alone is superficial."
Lectures in the classroom are important, but gaining experience from actual mecha combat is indispensable.
If one is fortunate enough to watch top-tier Mech Pilots in combat, that’s incredibly beneficial.
Jay Brown felt this deeply.
Ever since he enrolled and encountered Hannah, he had been repeatedly watching Hannah’s combat videos, which over time, greatly influenced him.
But what others clung on to wasn’t the combat experience, but...
"A hundred years ago, what about a hundred years ago?"
It was the same male student who had asked "What training?"
The male student joined the school later and due to insufficient dorm allocations was placed in a dorm with students from the previous year.
So, there were many things he wasn’t aware of.
"Junior, you sure have a lot of questions."
Though they called each other that way, the relationships between everyone were quite good.
The junior just smiled, "I joined the school late, please seniors, tell me more."
"Alright, today your senior will explain it well to you."
The male student sat up from his bed; in the dim environment, his silhouette was barely visible.
The student in the bed next to him also sat up.
Everyone else looked over, and the atmosphere in the dorm room became filled with anticipation.
"This a hundred years ago, the mecha academy indeed had a topic requiring each qualifying student to go out on team missions for training every year, and the locations for these trainings were random, sometimes at the borders, sometimes on other planets, as long as it was somewhere with the Empire’s mecha squad, they could go there..."
