Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Why Not Save All Beings since You’re So Kind?

She retracted her gaze, looking at the woman on the ground. Thinking about the scene she had just witnessed, she disapproved of it deeply. "Miss, although we have only met a few times, there is something I need to say. When faced with situations like this, we ought to help if we can. Even if you are unwilling to help, you didn’t have to make such hurtful remarks. If you can’t do that, at least apologize and let the matter rest."

Hearing Tiffany Lynch say this, the woman was stirred up again. "Yes, indeed, this lady speaks the truth. We mother and son have already suffered enough from begging. Even if you don’t want to help, why did you have to say those things? You are heartless! Do you think our situation is not already miserable enough?"

Tiffany Lynch held herself with the grace and arrogance of an honored lady.

In response, Hannah chuckled softly, studying the woman before her. "Miss Lynch, I know you’re kindhearted, but whether to help someone or not is my choice. If you really want to help, why not take this mother and son to the police station? I’m sure the child would be very grateful to you, isn’t that right?"

As she spoke, she seemingly inadvertently glanced at the boy, who had remained kneeling on the ground.

The boy suddenly lifted his head. Unlike the fierce gaze he had given Hannah earlier, he looked at Tiffany with eyes full of hope and longing.

He reached out to grab Tiffany’s skirt, but even before he touched her, she had edged away, unable to hide her disgust.

She merely put on a show upon seeing an "acquaintance", could she really have any compassionate intention?

The boy noticed this; he looked at his own hands, filthy with dirt. The light in his eyes gradually faded.

The woman next to him reacted quickly, pulling the boy away. Faint curses could be heard in her voice, "What did I tell you... no memory at all... I’ll beat you to death when we get home..."

This brutal scene exposed some unspeakable truths.

Hannah, as though she had seen through it all, smiled ironically. "Miss Lynch, why don’t you continue your good deeds?"

Tiffany’s expression stiffened slightly, but she still admonished Hannah with apparent sincerity. "Life is hard for everyone, so we should help when we can. Besides, you don’t look like someone short of money; surely you wouldn’t miss a few hundred?"

Hannah suppressed a smile, her eyes filled with malice. She stepped forward and said word by word, "Given your kindness, Miss Lynch, why not extend it to all sentient beings?"

At Hannah’s glance, Tiffany instinctively tightened her grip on the tissue in her hand. "Why are you so aggressive?"

Hannah curled her lips and smiled brilliantly. "I learned it from you."

With that, she strode away. Tiffany moved sideways and retreated a few steps, clearing the way for her.

Thus ended this fiasco, and the onlookers dispersed.

No one was commending Tiffany’s act of kindness, instead, they ridiculed her as silly and loaded with money.

This mother and son had been pretending to be pitiful and begging here for several months. Regulars knew they were fraudsters and wouldn’t give them any money.

Giving them money would only perpetuate this trend.

Someone kindly explained it to Tiffany, and she could only smile awkwardly. "Is that so? Even if they are scammers, I thought the child looked quite pitiful. A few hundred isn’t a large sum."

The person found it hard to grasp Tiffany’s mentality. He looked her up and down, as if she was some kind of anomaly.
