Nine Nether Dragon Emperor-Chapter 201: The Arrival of the Mo Lin Army, Like Demons Descending!
Outside the gates of Tianxia City, a crowd was steadily growing. Ning Xuan’s mobile villa was already eye-catching enough, but the current standoff drew even more attention.
"Quick, look! That bizarre flying vehicle is in a standoff with Cheng Yong!"
"What an imposing machine! Cheng Yong must have taken a liking to it and wants it for himself!"
"He’s backed by the City Lord Manor, and the City Lord himself is appointed by the Heavenly Palace. It’s no surprise he’d have such ideas."
"Who knows who those people are, flaunting their wealth like that. They’re asking for trouble! I bet they won’t be able to keep that thing!"
Below, the people buzzed with discussion.
"Wait, that’s not right! Look, there’s a spear tip pressed against Cheng Yong’s throat!"
"Gasp! Who are those people up there? How audacious!"
"Look at the city walls!" someone cried out, and the spectators turned their heads.
They then saw that the soldiers on the city walls, who had previously raised their long spears and drawn their bows, were now standing completely stupefied, their weapons unconsciously lowered.
"What... what did they see?"
"I’ll go up and have a look!"
Immediately, a Martial Artist soared into the sky. The other Martial Artists quickly followed suit, taking to the air one after another.
The next moment, THUD! THUD! One after another, they plummeted from the sky, their auras unstable.
"Ugh..."
"What happened?" someone asked hastily.
"A... a fairy! There’s a fairy up there!"
"Tch, in your dreams!"
"I’m serious! The others might be masked, but the red-clad fairy holding a long spear isn’t!"
"You mean to say the one holding the spear tip to Cheng Yong’s throat is a woman?"
"That’s right!"
"Damn, she’s bold..."
Before he could finish, the man froze, utterly stunned as three bodies plummeted straight down. THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! The three impacts echoed almost simultaneously.
The crowd snapped back to reality, their scalps tingling with horror. Cheng Yong was a man from the City Lord Manor, yet these newcomers killed him without a second thought. They had the courage of a lion! When they regained their senses and looked up at the sky again, they were astonished to see the flying vehicle heading directly into the city!
The soldiers on the city walls made no move to stop it!
"There’s an open space over there, let’s land there!" Up on the mobile villa, Wu Pianpian, leaning over the edge, suddenly pointed to a spot.
Ning Xuan’s face darkened. Senior Brother, aren’t you just asking for trouble? The place Wu Pianpian was pointing to was an area where two groups were in a tense and hostile standoff.
Wu Pianpian turned and asked Ning Xuan, "Are you afraid of trouble?"
Ning Xuan shook his head. "No, but..."
"Then that settles it! Hurry up! Are you a man or not? Stop dilly-dallying like a woman!" Wu Pianpian shot him a glare as she urged him on.
Damn it! Ning Xuan couldn’t stand for that. Gritting his teeth, he piloted the mobile villa straight down.
On the ground, the two opposing groups were utterly baffled. What the hell is going on? We’re about to have a bloodbath, and something just drops out of the sky...
Wu Pianpian, having already stowed her spear, led the women out of the mobile villa. Ning Xuan stepped out right behind them and promptly put the villa away. It was only after they had walked out of the confrontation’s epicenter that the two groups snapped out of it, their gazes locking onto them in unison. Wu Pianpian and the other women scurried away, leaving Ning Xuan all by himself.
"Carry on," Ning Xuan said with a nod and a smile, then tried to make a run for it himself. This time, however, neither group was about to let him go.
"Stop!" several voices roared at the same time.
Countless murderous gazes locked onto Ning Xuan. With his back to them, he had no choice but to turn around with an apologetic smile.
Before he could even speak, several voices cried out in unison, "Ning Xuan!"
"Since you all know who I am, you should know that I’m a very amicable person. My apologies for the interruption. Please, carry on," Ning Xuan said, then turned to leave.
Behind him, countless eyes remained fixed on his retreating figure. The two groups looked at each other, but neither side spoke up again. They simply let Ning Xuan walk away.
"As expected of a big city. The people here are so civilized and kind," Ning Xuan remarked with a sigh of relief after putting some distance between them.
Behind him, the mouths of several people in the two factions twitched. They were all King Realm Martial Artists; at this distance, they could hear a mosquito buzz! Furthermore, they refused to believe Ning Xuan didn’t know this.
Is he pretending we don’t exist?! Or is he mocking us?!
The leaders of both factions bristled with anger simultaneously. Just as they were about to make a move, they recalled the rumors they had heard about Ning Xuan.
Forget it! Why get angry at a junior? He probably didn’t mean to mock us. After all, he looks so honest and simple!
With this thought, the leaders of both factions felt their anger subside. The two adversaries looked at each other and shared a smile. Only after a moment did they suddenly realize something was wrong.
Damn it! We’re enemies!
This bloodbath had only one purpose: to decide which of them was the number one faction in Tianxia City!
Leaving the two factions to their business, Ning Xuan quickly blended into the crowd. As he moved through the bustling, shoulder-to-shoulder throng, people who recognized his face would occasionally show a flicker of surprise. Clearly, these were all Martial Artists, and powerful ones at that.
Crap, I forgot to tell them where to meet! Ning Xuan suddenly slapped his forehead.
"City Lord Manor business! All unrelated personnel, clear the way at once!" a voice suddenly boomed from a nearby street corner.
Immediately after, armored soldiers riding massive Element Beasts appeared. They were all tall, clad in black armor that covered them from head to toe, revealing only a pair of cold, sharp eyes. The leader’s gaze was especially piercing, like a hawk’s, making it difficult for anyone to meet his eyes directly.
"Quick, run! It’s the City Lord Manor’s Mo Lin Army! And their leader is Mo Qi!" someone in front of Ning Xuan hissed, their face pale as they urged their companion on.
"Auntie, is the Mo Lin Army that terrifying?" Ning Xuan asked, his curiosity piqued.
The woman initially didn’t want to answer, but upon seeing Ning Xuan’s face, she immediately lowered her voice. "The Mo Lin Army is like a plague of demons descending upon Tianxia City. Their name alone is enough to stop children from crying at night. Do you think that’s terrifying? Young man, where do you live? How many people are in your family?"
The woman started gossiping, completely forgetting the Mo Lin Army’s presence. Her companion tried to pull her away to no avail and was instead disdainfully brushed off. "Go on, get out of here! Can’t you see I’m busy with important matters?"
The younger woman glanced at the approaching Mo Lin Army, her legs trembling with fear. Heedless of the older woman, she lifted her skirts and fled.
"Ning Xuan!" a voice like a thunderclap exploded from above.
The woman turned to look and let out a piercing shriek.
Behind Mo Qi, a soldier’s Element Beast was suddenly startled by the scream and bolted forward. The soldier atop it reacted in a flash. He threw himself forward, grabbed the beast’s antlers, and managed to haul it to a stop with sheer force! 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
What terrifying core strength!
The Element Beast’s front hooves reared up, about to come crashing down on the woman, who had collapsed in a heap on the ground.
