Nightmare Mythos-Chapter 188 A Boring Strategy
Looking atop the walls of the Silo City, Cesar couldn't help but look around at the dreaded atmosphere that surrounded the city walls.
Who wouldn't get nervous?
They are aware that an incoming attack from a group of worse people and it came from no other than the current enemy, the Revolutionary Army.

Now Cesar was expecting an attack from them at any moment.
After talking with Mayor Trevor about their current strategy, it was a definitive strategy that defending the city would give them the highest chance of win rate.
If the military promised their arrival for over five hours which has been reduced to three now, waiting for the additional men is the right way.
Cesar put himself on the south side of the city, watching out the perimeter using the goggles that the Silo City provided.
Of course, it would be different if their enemies have Facets or Artifacts since mundane equipment will be nothing but a piece of garbage into them.
"It kind of reassuring that the current Hero of Wheels is with us,"
Cesar glanced at the side and saw the group of people that had been assigned to him.
All their demeanor screams nothing unordinary.
They consisted of normal guards and patrol units whose task was to only look at the city walls.
It was probably their first time encountering something like this. A war between people instead of focusing on one sole goal which is exterminating Nightmares is really irrational.
The idea of war really confused Cesar.
After doing another watch using his goggles, Cesar replied, "Haha, please. I thought that I was already beyond being called like that. I believe you heard how I crashed out in the Castle Hearth, right? Well, because being called a Hero really didn't suit me?"
The guards all made questioning look before one of them voiced out.
"Isn't being regarded as a hero one of the fantasies of today's children? The title also has nothing to scoff at. So it was really weird for you to do it, Student Sparrow,"
Cesar hummed before replying with a smirk on his lips, "Let's just say I'm tired of receiving the burden of some people. You know the expectations, leadership, and all that? I don't want any of it,"
Cesar didn't even get to look at their reaction after spotting weird from the corner of his eyes.
Placing his goggles onto his eyes, Cesar was able to spot a figure walking in their direction. At first, it was alone but as the seconds gradually increased, the amount of people appearing in that area went high.
'They are finally here…'
The instant they spotted the city gates, those people started sprinting towards them as if their lives depended on it.
"Formation!"
Cesar immediately began to move as the guards from the south side of the wall prepared every weaponry that had been deployed on their side.
Trevor really made use of the time they had left to prepare everything that could be used for their defense.
The cannons had two people manned up handling the fuse while the other took care of the bullet. The others who didn't have any knowledge regarding the cannons were put into the watch towers to use bows and available licensed guns.
Cesar who was the one leading their side, covered his ears and shouted, "Fire!"
Bang—!
The sounds of cannons blew through everyone's ears on their side. The strings of each bow were released as the arrows hissed through the air, trying to hit those people who ran towards them. Every magazine of those guns is released at a relentless rate as every few seconds they have to reload their weapons.
Bang—!
But the Five Hundred Strong Men running towards their direction didn't seem to need any protection as all they were doing was dodging those measly attacks.
To them, as long as it were mundane weapons, nothing will ever go through them.

Bang—!
Cesar looked around and saw that the other side of the walls was also engaged in battle.
They were a bit far from each other but Cesar could feel the intensity of the clash between the Strong Men and the people at the Silo City.
But Cesar knew the favor wasn't tilting on their way.
The Strong Men might've been planning on striking the city straightforwardly instead of doing something inefficient such as aiming for the city from afar.
That's why Cesar implemented a strategy that he talked about with Arnold and Trevor after trying to strategize their defense.
"Kekeke, is it time now, human?"
A soldier who had been sticking with Cesar voiced out, a hint of malice attached to his tone.
"Yeah, you can begin moving now, Doubt,"
The Origin Entity Doubt appeared to be in the body of a soldier that he had gotten from the Hidden Village.
He had traced Cesar's whereabouts by following the scene of a Nightmare corpse appeared in that area.
According to the Nightmare, that monster was from the Revolutionary Army's people who decided to work for them.
As for why Doubt decided to appear now, well, they just met in the Silo City.
When he realizes that the Revolutionary Army is working together with a couple of Nightmares, Cesar is planning on returning the favor by using them as well.
"Remember, they are not aware of your existence. I don't want these people to think that I'm working with Nightmares… which you know, we are. Indirectly," Cesar paused, "I'll talk about the entity that tried to tarnish your name as a reward,"
Doubt cackled as the soldier slowly crumbled away.
Because of how the situation in the city had become, only Cesar was able to see the disappearance of another monster beside him.
"Stop!"
Cesar ran around the walls to make the people stop firing their weapons.
Already briefed about this phase of their strategy, everyone began to halt down as they watched a lone figure sprouting in front of the running Strong Men.
This situation should be already happening at the other walls as well.
'A boring strategy… but still a strategy. Anyways, this should buy us a bit of time,' Cesar mused with a deranged grin at his lips.
