Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 450: The heirs are back
Just as he finished, he felt a presence descending from above. It was Anderson.
Sensing this, he swiftly left his quarters. His mother and Anderson were standing right outside his door.
"I spoke with the Emperor. He could not sense anything on his end either," Anderson said with a heavy sigh.
"Is it possible that the Einsworth family was behind this?" Angela asked, unable to hide her worry.
"It is possible," Anderson replied with a cold look on his face. "There are rumors that their Patriarch has already stepped into the 7th Rank. If that is true, hiding his traces even from the Emperor might not be difficult for him."
"Those people..." Angela immediately became enraged.
Seeing their worried expressions, Grey gulped. Did he accidentally just cause a massive enmity between two major families?
"Mother, who is the Einsworth family?" Grey tilted his head and asked.
"They are our rival clan. Our main competitors in the Aeonic Divine Kingdom. Their offspring are highly prestigious in the starry sky as well."
"Their eldest heir is a genius blacksmith, the middle is a genius alchemist, and the son below the middle is a formation master who works directly under the grandmaster that forged the 7-Star Cosmic Array merging reality in the Crown Expanse."
"And the youngest is a genius Evolver who follows the Frequencial Martial Warrior evolutionary path," Angela explained.
"Frequencial Martial Warrior evolutionary path?" Grey was impressed hearing this.
His mind interface was already connected to this localized sector, hence he immediately searched it up on the newly established browser of the cosmos, CosmoWeb. Soon, detailed results appeared.
This evolutionary path focused heavily on shockwaves. It started with one gaining the ability of vibration by tapping into the path, likely using a creator invocation’s ability to vibrate their cells, nourishing and strengthening them to superhuman levels at the 1st Rank. By the 5th Rank, they became a being of energetic vibration that constantly disrupted the flow of everything around them. Even conceptual attacks lost their effects against them.
"It is not a bad evolutionary path," Grey commented.
"Of course. It is one of the majority-used paths in the Crown Expanse, alongside the Rune Mage path."
"Rune Mage?" Grey searched it up immediately.
Runes were similar to the inscriptions of a formation, but vastly more sophisticated.
One could engrave runes on themselves, such as a strengthening rune, and it could be either temporary or permanent. A 2nd Ranker could simply carve the ’Fragile’ rune they unlock as part of their path, and whatever object the rune was engraved on would crumble like wet paper, even if it was an entire mountain.
They also had elemental runes that they could form an affinity with, and usually, their 4th Rank domains were born directly out of a domain rune as well.
"Cool."
The Frequencial Martial Warrior path did kind of disappoint him since they did not convert themselves into a true frequencial being at the 5th Rank, but the Rune Mage path was highly satisfactory.
And there were countless other paths in the cosmos! It was time to thoroughly get acquainted with them.
Then, Anderson spoke up. "For now, let us set those matters aside. Both Juli and Jeremiah are home."
"They are home?" Angela immediately showed a bright, happy expression.
Anderson nodded softly. "Let us go."
---------
In the outer courtyard of the multi-layered castles, two sleek spaceships had already descended. This time, to formally welcome the two prominent heirs, the entire family, including Elder Rigard and Elder Joseph, was present.
"To think they would arrive so early," Elder Rigard rubbed his beard with a wide smile on his face.
"Our elusive brother did indeed leave highly capable descendants," Elder Joseph said with a smile as he felt the powerful presences radiating from those two ships.
The ships slowly opened up, and two distinct people descended. One was a burly man with a handsome, scarred face wearing casual clothes. This was Jeremiah. The other was a breathtaking beauty with a flawless, porcelain doll-like face and a calm look in her dark eyes. This was Juli.
The instant they emerged, the elite soldiers on the side shouted in unison. "We welcome back the heirs to the family!"
"Welcome back, Jeremiah," David came forward with his hands behind his back, his two sons, Rodrick and Mark, trailing closely behind him.
"Greetings, Big Brother Jeremiah. Welcome back from the Alien Battlefield." They both looked at Jeremiah with deep reverence in their eyes.
"Uncle. Cousins." Jeremiah calmly nodded at them. "It looks like everyone has been doing well while I was absent."
"You have also been performing exceedingly well, Jeremiah. Your military feats and deeds have already spread far and wide across the Crown Expanse."
"It is nothing," Jeremiah replied with a modest chuckle.
On the other side of the courtyard, Aunt Deborah, along with Susan and Heather, was actively welcoming Juli.
"Sister Juli, welcome back! Your new music album... I like it very much!" Susan stepped forward and said cheerfully.
"What are you saying, Susan?" Aunt Deborah scolded mildly. "Juli must be incredibly tired after traveling all the way from the Origin Planet. You kids can discuss pop culture later after she takes a proper rest."
"It is fine. I am a 5th Ranker. I do not need rest," Juli tilted her head and spoke in a monotone voice.
"It is not about your Origin Core, it is about your mental health," Aunt Deborah said while looking at her sternly. "Being one of the most popular idols in the entirety of the Pan-Cosmic Human Alliance must be heavily taxing for you."
"No, it is not," Juli replied flatly. "It does not affect me much. Miwa and Alissa take very good care of me."
Aunt Deborah’s expression stiffened awkwardly when she heard this blunt reply.
Then, an old voice spoke up. "Both of you, give the kids some space. They just came back from tiresome places. We just sit around in the castle all day, but those two kids are genuinely hardworking."
It was Elder Rigard.
Seeing Elder Rigard approach, everyone, including the Patriarch and Matriarch, bowed slightly to show their respect.
Angela, who was standing right next to Grey, noticed that he was just standing there with a highly casual look on his face, completely ignoring the elder’s arrival.
"Pay respect to Elder Rigard, Grey," she whispered urgently.
"Hm?" Grey tilted his head and then nodded. "Oh, sure."
"I greet Elder Rigard!" Grey spoke out loudly as he formally cupped his hands together exactly like an ancient immortal cultivator.
The entirety of the people in the courtyard turned toward Grey when they saw this bizarre scene, including Jeremiah and Juli. Jeremiah looked at his new brother with a look of cold indifference, while Juli’s porcelain, doll-like face cracked for a split second in surprise before it rapidly returned to its normal, emotionless state.
