New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 191: Quizen’s quest
Chapter 191: Quizen’s quest
Quizen’s quest was sprawled out in front of Coco, telling her all about what she needs to do to finish it.
She didn’t expect that she would finish it in just less than an hour, but she’s not complaining because the reward for his quest seems interesting enough.
Fool’s Gold in any fictional setting means a person having a touch that turns anything they want to gold, right?
Coco hummed, recalling a certain movie from her previous world where one of the characters absorbs gold into their body and uses that gold to create golden pillars or anything they want out of gold.
There was another one where the character can turn anything they touch into gold.
I wonder which one of the two I would get? It would be sick if I got the second one. I don’t have to worry about getting money if I have it. Coco thought to herself, looking away from the scroll.
She looked at Quizen’s face, her eyes tracing every line with an intense stare that made the mediator shift in his feet.
"Quizen?" Coco called out softly and raised an eyebrow, "Are we going to talk or are you planning to stay quiet the whole time until I escort you out of the inn?"
She still has not forgotten how he assumed that she was going to cheat on them with Ruby.
She also has not forgotten how he tried to tarnish Ruby’s reputation by trying to speak so loud by the entryway of the pub.
As much as she likes how he’s staying quiet and avoiding an argument, she needs to talk to him to know what he’s thinking about the cheating allegations that he had been pulling since she came into this world.
Sure, Coco Hughes may have cheated on them, but not her.
She made it clear that she’s not the actual Coco Hughes that they had married and is an entirely different person that is now inside of their wife’s body.
She didn’t hide the fact that she was put inside of Coco Hughes’ body because she thinks that they deserve to know that their abuser is no longer alive to threaten their safety and hope that it would bring them some peace.
She wanted them to feel at ease.
So, who is she to force them to feel that way immediately when the four of them could see their abuser’s face around the village?
She understood why they can’t accept her being a different person just yet because if she was in their shoes, she wouldn’t believe the bullshit her abuser would spout about being a different person.
It’s only a matter of perspective. Coco mused in her thoughts and looked away from Quizen.
"If you don’t want to talk right now, then it’s fine." Coco said and turned in her heels, "Let’s go. I’ll take you home to make sure that no shitheads will pull anything funny."
She opened the door and walked out, her body tensing a little as she waited for the mediator to step out of her room.
Quizen didn’t say anything and just followed her out, watching as she reached out once more towards the doorknob and closed the door, locking it.
When Coco was done with locking the door, she turned towards the hall and started walking towards the staircase, leading the blanking out mediator to the inn’s lobby and making sure that he wouldn’t trip on his own feet.
"Taking your husband home, Coco?" Joachim asked when she saw walking past the front desk.
"Yes, I just thought that since I’m already here, I may as well escort my husband home." Coco answered truthfully with a small smile, making Joachim return the smile and shake his head with a laugh.
"Have a safe trip back home." Joachim said, waving her off and returning back to papers in front of him.
"Good luck with your paperwork." Coco returned the words with a genuine laugh, "You look like you will need it this time."
Joachim merely laughed at that and Coco took that chance to walk out of the inn, glancing over her shoulder to see if the blue haired mediator was still following behind her.
"Quizen?" Coco called out, her eyebrows furrowed in worry.
Just what is his deal today? He’s spacing out a lot and is acting strange. Coco wondered, waiting for the mediator to catch up to her.
He was walking so slow with the same dazed look in his eyes, making it clear that his head was somewhere else at the moment which made Coco even more worried and wonder what could be the reason.
"Are you okay?" Coco asked for the nth time since she pulled him out of the pub.
Quizen blinked owlishly when he heard Coco’s voice, snapping him out his thoughts once more— only then, he realized that he was already out of the inn and was standing before a concerned Coco.
"What?" Quizen’s face twisted into a puzzled one and looked from left to right, trying to come up with a reason why he was already out of her room.
"Are you okay? You’re spacing out." Coco, once again, pointed out the obvious.
Quizen scanned their surroundings and noticed how the other villagers looked at his wife, their eyes bulging out of their sockets and staring at Coco with undeniable look— adoration and amazement.
Quizen frowned deeply. "You’re taking me home, right? Let’s go. I don’t want to stay here any longer."
"Okay.." Coco dragged the word out slowly and blinked before she started walking again, leading the mediator out of the main street of the village.
On their way to the house, Coco looked around them to keep an eye out for anything related to Quizen’s dream.
A book about music? An instrument?
She turned to the mediator and inquired. "You work at the inn and sing for the patrons, right? Do you use the guitar that was given to you by the owner or..?"
Quizen looked at her.
