Chapter 309: WHERE’S BABY VALEN?

Aristia’s eyes narrowed.

[And Carolyn. From beginning to end, she never spoke up to clear the misunderstanding. It’s either this female lead really is as dull as a wooden doll, or she’s a snake. So, was that why I didn’t like her the first time I saw her?]

Aristia didn’t go back to sleep.

The grandfather clock on the wall showed that it was almost five o’clock.

She used the one hour left to analyze what she had just seen. Suddenly, she remembered what she had seen about Charlotte’s death.

That seemed to be the same as this one.

[That should be the first real memory of this world I’ve watched.]

But wait!

Her eyes widened. [It’s not! I remember the dreams I had about someone chasing me. Could it be that that’s a memory too? If it’s real, then does that mean it will happen in this world too?]

Her eyes widened thinking about this. That could only mean that her life would be in danger.

By the time she was done mulling over the events, the clock had struck six in the morning.

Adeline entered the room.

Aristia threw the worrisome thoughts to the back of her mind, instead turning her attention to Adeline.

"Good morning, princess!" Adeline chirped with a bright smile on her face.

This Adeline was much pleasing to Aristia.

[It’s much better than original Aristia’s Adeline. That Adeline didn’t smile, and her eyes didn’t light up when she saw Aristia. She didn’t call her princess fondly, and she didn’t seem close to her.]

Facing Aristia, that Adeline was like a block of ice.

"Good morning, Linny!" She replied with the same vigor.

Adeline was a bit surprised.

Aristia usually responded to her greetings with a smile, but today, she was much more enthusiastic than usual.

This widened the smile on Aristia’s lips.

"Time to get you ready for the training with the captain." She said.

Aristia nodded, getting up. "Okay."

Adeline washed her face and helped her get ready, bringing over her training clothes.

Aristia’s training clothes consisted of a shirt and a pair of trousers. The shirts were all in dark colors, but she would mostly put on black shirts.

[Dont ask, black is such a cool, badass color.]

Now, she wore a dark blue shirt and black trousers.

Adeline brushed her hair and tied it up with a rubber band.

"All done, princess Tia." She said.

Aristia nodded, striking a small pose in front of the mirror.

A knock sounded on the door.

"Come in!’ Aristia said, already knowing who it was.

The door opened and Alaric walked in smartly.

"Good morning, Tia." He said.

"Good morning, Al." Aristia said smiling widely.

Her mind went back to the Alaric she had seen in the memory of original Aristia.

That Alaric didn’t show any excitement on seeing her, and neither did he try to have conversations with her. It was a completely unfamiliar sight from the Alaric she knew.

Seeing that made her realize how much she loved this younger brother.

She couldn’t help herself as she walked in front of him and hugged him.

Both Alaric and Adeline were surprised.

"Tia?" Alaric asked in confusion, but he still hugged her back.

"I’m glad you’re my little brother, Alaric." Aristia said.

Alaric was still confused, but his eyes brightened.

As soon as Aristia released him, she pinched his cheek that still had a bit of baby fat before saying,

"Come on, let’s go."

Alaric nodded, and the both of them left the room with Adeline following behind them.

On the corridor, they met Owen and Kai coming out of their rooms.

"Good morning, princess Aristia." The two greeted in unison.

Aristia nodded.

Her gaze followed Adeline as she entered into another room.

They didn’t wait for Adeline. Instead, the four of them walked downstairs to the kitchen, taking some fruit to eat along the way to the training grounds.

In the training grounds, Captain Hugh hadn’t arrived yet.

Aristia munched on an apple, turning around in time to see Heidi and Penelope coming their way.

The two girls were dragging their feet, a little groggy from being woken up despite having washed their faces.

"Good morning, everyone." They said, just a second away from slumping on the ground.

"What are we even doing here?" Penelope asked as Kai handed her and her sister an apple.

"We’re training," Kai said.

The sisters’ eyes widened, all the sleepiness fading away.

"What?!" Heidi asked with shock, moving her eyes around at everyone.

Since living in the Grand Duke’s mansion, they had seen Aristia and the others train with the captain numerous times, watching from the sidelines. They didn’t want to go through that!

Aristia paused at the baffled, confused expressions of the sisters.

"Why are you both acting so surprised? I thought you both knew. Isn’t that why you asked for the clothes?" Aristia asked.

Heidi and Penelope were both dressed in a shirt and trousers.

The sisters’ jaws dropped. They had asked for the clothes because they thought they looked good on Aristia, not so that they could join in the training!

Aristia suddenly realized.

A trace of amusement showed in her eyes and she shook her head.

"Well, your parents thought it would be good for the both of you to have some basic training so that you’ll be able to protect yourselves if need be. My father said it’s necessary for anyone who’s part of my people."

Heidi and Penelope thought.

Henry and Jacqueline had indeed said something about training. But they had both been working on one of their inventions at the time. They hadn’t really been paying attention. They had just agreed without listening!

Captain Hugh arrived at that moment.

He was aware of the arrangement. He had to train the new additions.

Sometimes, he couldn’t help but wonder what all these children were doing with princess Aristia. But it was none of his business.

However, he had found out that Count and Countess Cedmond had found their missing daughters.

Since the count and Countess both worked for Wilson and lived in his mansion, it was understandable that their daughters would also love in the mansion.

"Good morning, Captain Hugh!" The children greeted.

Hugh responded to the greeting before turning to the two girls.

"You are?"

"We’re Heidi and Penelope."

Heidi and Penelope said at the same time.

Captain Hugh’s left eye twitched.

"Who’s Heidi and who’s Penelope?" He asked.

Heidi and Penelope pointed to Heidi.

"I’m Heidi." Heidi said.

"She’s Heidi." Penelope said.

Then their fingers pointed to Penelope.

"And I’m Penelope." Penelope said.

"And she’s Penelope." Heidi said.

This time, the corner of Hugh’s mouth twitched.

He couldn’t help but wonder if the twins always did that; if they always spoke at the same time.

He cleared his throat.

"You will join the princess, prince and the others in training. I can see you’re already aware of this." He said, seeing that they were dressed in training clothes.

The girls nodded even though in their hearts they couldn’t help but cry out.

’No, we’re not at all prepared!’

"Let’s begin the training." Hugh said. "All of you, finish with your stretching and run a lap around the field."

Heidi and Penelope froze while the others got ready to run.

They were supposed to... run around the field? This large field?!

After the training, Heidi and Penelope collapsed on the floor.

"Was...gasp... Was that the basic training?" Heidi asked, panting.

The sky was blocked and a face appeared in front of her face.

She looked up with wide eyes.

Owen was bending down. "It’s basic training. It’s just that you’re both not fit." Saying that, he stood up straight and walked away in the direction of the mansion.

Heidi and Penelope were speechless, but looking at the others who were only panting lightly and sweating a bit, it seemed... it was true?

They dragged their aching bodies from the ground and headed into the mansion.

After taking a bath, they felt better.

Everyone headed downstairs to the dining room for breakfast.

After breakfast, they all headed to their various classes.

Owen had a tutor to tutor him on all the lessons suitable for an aide.

All his tutors were told that he would be Alaric’s aide. No one knew that he was really Aristia’s aide.

That way, no one was suspicious.

Aristia found out earlier that her mother had headed to the Anton mansion after breakfast.

Catherine was going to the Anton mansion more frequently than usual, and Aristia knew that it was because of Evelyn.

"Oh, that reminds me. Lauren and the others including Allen are coming to the mansion tomorrow." Aristia muttered as she headed to her history class with Vasily Hemsworth.

There were still a few minutes before the time.

Vasily was not yet there.

She only arrived a few minutes later.

"Good morning, Viscountess Vasily." Aristia greeted.

"Good morning, princess Aristia." Vasily nodded with a smile, taking a seat in front of Aristia.

"Where’s baby Valen?" Aristia asked curiously.
