Netheril’s Glory-Chapter 132: Berserker Bahanger.
The spell "Kinetic Compression" created a 500 cubic meter energy field that would wrap around the enemy and then quickly applied a massive compression force to the enemy's body. But this spell was extremely mana consuming as the caster had to maintain a constant mana supply during the whole compression process.
Just as the Ice-rock worm's head was submerged in the ground, a greyish energy field wrapped around its neck and one-third of its body. Before the Ice-rock worm could react to the sudden abnormality around its body, its body was already enveloped in a twinkling purple light, and then the purple energy field began to shrink quickly. Although every cell of the Ice-rock worm was filled with energy, the "Kinetic compression" still started to tear apart its flesh slowly.
" Ow!!!"
Feeling the fatal threat from Punk's spell, the Ice-rock worm could no longer continue its drilling and had to concentrate all its power just to resist the huge compression effect. Soon a light-yellow energy appeared on the Ice-rock worm's head, then it quickly condensed into dozens of mini energy ice-rock worms and rushed towards the greyish energy field.
It could be seen that although the Ice-rock worm was an official-level magical beast, it still had more cards than just its huge body, and it could utilize energy methods.
Its body covered in the greyish energy field was greatly strengthened under the convergence of the light-yellow energy. So at least for now, the effect of "Kinetic compression" was stopped.
Seeing this happen, Punk couldn't help but frown slightly. He increased the output of mana, but the seriously injured Ice-rock worm desperately squeezed the last bit of energy in order to stop the fragmentation of its cells, and the situation developed into a stalemate.
If only Punk himself was the only one facing the Ice-rock worm at this time, then this battle might have really turned into a battle of attrition. And as the ice-rock worm had already adapted to the cold erosion mixed with legendary power, there was a significant chance that it could have won.
But now, this stalemate was destined not to last long.
Just as the Ice-rock worm concentrated every last bit of its power to counter Punk's spell; Kang Kai, Bahanger, and No. 1 all rushed toward the immobile Ice-rock worm.
The current Ice-rock worm was entirely focused on resisting the "Kinectic compression" spell, and its body had no energy defense. So obviously, Bahanger and the others would not miss such a good opportunity.
First, another "steel binding" came from No. 1 and blocked the Ice-rock worm's movement, and then Bahange's heavy hammer smashed the rock worm's remaining right eye, and finally, Kang Kai used his "wheel saw" skill on the Ice-rock worm once again.
As a result, the heavily injured Ice-rock worm, who was once again attacked by the three official-level powerhouses, finally died. Kang Kai's dagger cut off its huge head in just three seconds. Unsurprisingly as soon as the Ice-rock worm was beheaded, it lost all resistance, and Punk's spell crushed one-third of its body into a mass of flesh and blood into the size of a car.
This was game over for Ti Xiaer's little pet- the Ice-rock worm.
Three people and an alchemy golem stood cautiously on the steep rock cliff. The Ice-rock worm's body that now was in three separate parts slid from the rock wall and then fell into the valley's depths.
Although the body parts of this big guy were very valuable casting materials, but as they still had to face Ti Xiaer, it was naturally impossible to carry such a large amount of materials with them. Then only Punk and Bahanger were among the three with a space ring. But their space ring didn't have such a large space, so although they felt a little pitty, they just watched as the Ice-rock worm's corpse disappeared into the darkness.
"Oh, no, no, no, no, what have you done? You actually killed my lovely pet. Ahhhhhhhhhh! I will kill you. I will peel your skins, crush your bones, pull out your tendons one by one, and then I will tear your souls into pieces."
It was not only Punk's group who watched the Ice-rock worm's body fall into the valley but also the owner of this beast- Ti Xiaer herself.
Witnessing her pet dying so miserably, Ti Xiaer immediately went into a frenzy. This time she did not make a joke or rushed over with her projection alone but just yelled non-stop hysterical curses.
And maybe because this area was within her projection range, even if the projection was destroyed, she would immediately create a new one and continue her abuse.
Although these threats were just childish non-sense for Punk and Kang Kai, who could easily ignore it, but the irritable dwarf Bahanger was a different story. Bahanger attacked the projections repeatedly; finally, Kang Kai had to drag him away in order not to waste too much time here. The dwarf still continued to shout angrily; he was obviously unable to control his emotions. And this was not good news for Punk, at least not now.
Although Bahanger concealed his identity to keep a hidden card, under Ti Xiaer's continuous abuse, his true nature finally came out, and anyone with a discerning eye could see through him. This guy was a berserker.
Realizing this fact, both Kang Kai and Punk remembered the saying, "Not afraid of an opponent like wolves but teammate like pigs."
"You're a berserker. Why didn't you say that earlier? We kept thinking that you were just a bit irritable, but now it seems it is much worse..."
This was the sentence that Punk and Kang Kai simultaneously thought in their heart.
One should know that berserker was a very troublesome profession. One usually wouldn't see any difference in them from those violent tempered, but once they were provoked, their strength would greatly increase for a short period of time because of the berserker state.
However, this berserker ability was just like the bloodline ability of the warlocks. If they could not control themselves after activating their skill, the other party would temporarily lose their sanity and wouldn't be able to differentiate between allies and enemies.
It had to be said that berserker was a very powerful trump card, but for the berserker's teammates, there was nothing left besides the word "troublesome."
After all, a berserker teammate was just like a time bomb, which could kill both the enemy and themself.
"Bahanger, I have to remind you that it took us five minutes to deal with that big bug. And if we didn't enter Ti Xiaer's base within ten minutes, we have to go back. So, if you don't want all our previous efforts to go to waste, then stop messing around."
At this time, Kang Kai solemnly and helplessly said to Bahanger, who again started to chase Ti Xiaer's Projection. Kang Kai only tried to put a herd fact forward in a serious manner in order to avoid irritating Bahanger, who was already on the verge of exploding with anger.
Kang Kai was very worried about the residents of Dolez City. So he couldn't tolerate such a waste of time that would come if they were entangled here with Bahanger. And as a believer of Obad-hai, he believed that he was obliged to give his partners proper advice.
"Well, this Ti Xiaer is just too annoying, and I couldn't control myself."
Bahanger was aware of their current situation. Suddenly, he struck his own head twice with his hammer, and it seemed that his reason had returned to him with the two dull sounds.
He was completely unaware that his berserker identity was completely exposed to Punk and Kang Kai. So facing Kang Kai's helpless gaze, Bahanger vowed:
"Well, I think we can keep going. Rest assured, this old me can control himself."
With the trust that was born out of helplessness, Kang Kai nodded to Bahanger, then he continued to follow in Punk's footsteps, but he didn't forget to pay attention to Bahanger's mental state from time to time.
The conversation between Kang Kai and Bahanger naturally fell into Punk's ears. Although he didn't say much from the beginning to the end, in fact, Punk had already begun to curse Bahanger and his family in his heart.
"A berserker, in front of Ti Xiaer's poisonous tongue, is there really a difference between him and a ticking time-bomb? You are actually Ti Xiaer's most loyal little pet."
Regarding Bahanger's claim that he could control himself well, Punk didn't believe a single word. Every berserker would say that they could control themself at the beginning, but judging from many recorded incidents, this was nothing more than blind self-confidence.
Now Punk had to be more alert as Ti Xiaer's venting abuse had an unexpected effect. And he might even have to fight a berserker dwarf on the way.
