Natural Disasters Strikes: I stockpiled like crazy!-Chapter 276: Lu Chenyu’s Death
He had seen her father and mother stay up all night, wringing their hands, thinking of ways to get money since their former friends in the city and their work opportunities had been cut off entirely by Lu Chenyu.
Because she was sick and desperately in need of money, her father had swallowed his pride and approached the Lu Patriarch himself.
Lu Chenyu’s spies in the mansion had reported it immediately, so instead of the Patriarch appearing, the butler dragged her father to Lu Chenyu.
Under the heavy downpour, he forced her father to kneel, relishing every moment of torment with a sadistic smile.
Her mother stood by the gates, holding an umbrella over Nanzhi. Though the rain covered much of the surrounding noise, Nanzhi knew her mother was crying because could feel the warmth of her mother’s tears as they dripped down her cheeks.
Her father was only spared after the Lu Patriarch came down and throw a card at his face.
Nanzhi was just a child at the time, but the memory seared itself into her mind. How could someone be so cruel to people who shared his blood?
"Uncle, I’m not as cruel as you," she said now, voice icy. "If you answer my questions properly, I can end your suffering immediately. Tell me... do you know anything about my parents’ death? About how I was adopted?"
Lu Chenyu’s expression twisted with aggression.
"If you intend to kill me in the end, then you won’t get any answers from me—"
An invisible force shattered the bones in his feet. "Argh!" With his exoskeleton cracked, breaking his bones had become child’s play.
"Lan Yunxi said the same thing. You know where she is? After I dislocated twenty of her bones, she became fish food. If you don’t cooperate, I can break every bone in your body and throw you to the same fate."
Lan Yunxi was dead too? And this brat was the one who killed her? Only now did he understand how Nanzhi had figured out who was behind her parents’ accident.
Lan Yunxi! You stupid blabbermouth! You couldn’t even keep a secret! And now you’ve dragged me into this mess!
Blood continued to spill from Lu Chenyu’s wounds as alien beasts began to gather below the shop. Their loud roars and snarls pierced his ears, and the screams of those previously devoured resurfaced in his mind.
He did not want to become one of them.
"N-niece... I’ll... talk... I’ll talk about your... parents’ accident... don’t believe what... that bitch... Lan Yunxi said... it was all Lu... Meiying’s idea! Yes, it was all her idea! She orchestrated everything... and about your adoption... what I know is... your mother and Lu Jingnan brought you back from their cruise near the sea of H Country. You were found floating... they couldn’t find your parents... so they brought you home and adopted you..."
Lu Chenyu had spies in the Lu family home, which explained how he knew about her adoption. As for the rest, well... Lu Meiying was dead, and the truth had been buried with her.
Because Nanzhi’s hair fell over her face, shadowing her features from the faint moonlight, only her sharp, piercing eyes were visible. Lu Chenyu could not read her thoughts and could only continue to plead.
"N-niece... my... good niece... your uncle didn’t know anything about the accident... it was Lu Meiying... Lu Meiying did it all... can you let me go..."
"Uncle," Nanzhi said, her voice calm and deadly, "of course I’ll let you go... after one last question. How did you obtain your power?"
Lu Chenyu thought she only wanted his power, and this question gave him a faint hope.
"Two figures in... black cloaks... gave me a vial of black liquid... after drinking it... you can awaken a power like mine... if you want... I can... introduce you to them..." he gasped between labored breaths. Of course, he had no intention of ever revealing his benefactors to Nanzhi. He was stalling, hoping to survive.
Two cloaked figures? Nanzhi’s mind immediately recalled the woman who had killed her in her previous life over an alien plant.
It couldn’t be them, could it?
The woman and her companions had unnaturally pale skin through which their veins were clearly visible, and they all had a habit of wearing black cloaks even in normal weather.
"Tell me more about them... did you see their faces? Everything!" Nanzhi pressed, stomping harder on Lu Chenyu’s chest.
"Keugh..." Lu Chenyu groaned in pain, suppressing his urge to curse. "I... I wasn’t able to see their... faces... but... they’re from... Amber City..."
Amber City?
Nanzhi narrowed her eyes. The chances were high—they were likely the same figures from her previous life.
She asked if he knew Bei Mingsi or if he was a player, but Lu Chenyu seemed genuinely confused. Aside from their black cloaks and Amber City origin, he knew nothing else.
"N-niece... I’ve told you everything... you’ll let me go, right..."
"Of course," Nanzhi replied coldly.
Moments later, in an alleyway, Lu Chenyu found himself strapped into a car, screaming.
"Lu Nanzhi, didn’t you say you’d let me go after I told you everything? What does this mean?"
"Uncle," Nanzhi said, closing the car door, her smile now ice-cold, "I’m letting you go... straight to the Underworld."
The engine roared to life on its own. With his broken body strapped in, bones in his arms and legs shattered, he could not move a muscle. Panic overtook his face.
"No! Lu Nanzhi! You can’t do this!"
Vroooom! The car accelerated, blurring the sound of his screams. Nanzhi disappeared into the shadows as thousands of alien beasts chased after Lu Chenyu’s vehicle, drawn by the mutated salacca fruit in his lap.
His face widened in horror as the swarm pursued him relentlessly.
On the rooftops above the stores, Nanzhi watched as the alien beasts thinned and closed in. Speed-type beasts jumped from roof to roof, tearing apart the structures above.
The car, an ordinary vehicle with no modifications, stood little chance against them.
Screeeech!
"Ah!" Lu Chenyu cried as a fox-like alien beast latched onto his shoulder and tore off a chunk of flesh.
More and more fox-like beasts joined, devouring him alive. "Ah!"
Suddenly, the car collided with a roadblock. "No!" he screamed.
Bang!
The C4 in the backseat was propelled forward. Before his last consciousness, he saw the timer hit zero.
"LU NANZHI!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Lu Chenyu was reduced to pieces.
The explosions sent a fireball roaring into the sky, forming a twenty-meter mushroom cloud.

As the distant explosion lit the night, memories of her parents’ accident flashed in Nanzhi’s mind. After a long, deep gaze, she leaped from the rooftop, disappearing into the shadows, a small vial clutched tightly in her hand.
