National Guardian's Gone and We're Done-Chapter 82: How Could Someone Like You Possibly Understand a Noble and Great Existence Like Me?
Medical personnel rushed to the scene.
On the stage, the figure known as Gong Yingshou was swaying precariously, his body covered in blood.
The severely injured Gong Yingshou collapsed on the stage, his face ghastly pale and on the verge of fainting.
The medics quickly moved forward, carefully lifted him, and cautiously carried him away.
Below the stage, the male student involved was slumped on the ground. He had wanted to urgently explain something,
but his gaze was now completely captivated by the young man standing atop the pole, and the words he was about to say were forgotten.
"Mr. Chu, I’ve heard of this Ye Gucheng, but the information I have on him isn’t very detailed."
Liu Yuzhu came forward. "Ye Gucheng is extremely powerful. He rose to fame in just the last six months, and in that time, he has challenged numerous renowned Martial Artists across the globe without a single defeat.
"He only challenges prominent Martial Artists. After losing, all of them chose to remain silent, some even using their connections to suppress the news.
"That’s why, despite his strength, there’s very little information about him.
"I just never expected him to suddenly show up at the National Road Academy."
Chu He nodded, indicating that he understood.
’This Ye Gucheng... he’s powerful, but something’s off about him.’
’To put it nicely, his head is in a different world than most people’s.’
’To put it bluntly, he’s a little nuts.’
"Chu He, what you said earlier was right."
Ye Gucheng suddenly spoke. "Humans should pursue the pinnacle of the ancient ways, constantly challenging themselves and surpassing their limits.
"But why would you lower yourself to be the dean of this little academy?
"Isn’t that a waste of your Martial Arts cultivation?
"Have you too become lost in the splendors of the mortal world and forgotten your original purpose?"
Hearing this, Chu He couldn’t help but frown and reply, "What business is it of yours?"
Ye Gucheng didn’t get angry. Instead, he started to laugh.
He drew the longsword from his back, its blade glinting with a cold light.
He pointed it at Chu He and said, "Not bad. You’ve got some personality.
"But today, I will defeat you in front of everyone and let them all know that the true number one expert on Blue Star is I, Ye Gucheng, not you, Chu He!"
After speaking, he raised his head, gazing at the azure sky and white clouds.
A gentle breeze blew past, stirring Ye Gucheng’s hair and the sleeves of his robes.
He let out a soft sigh, as if lamenting the transience of the world. "The wind today is quite boisterous."
Before his voice had faded, he had already swung his sword.
A sharp glint of sword light tore through the air, heading straight for Chu He.
In an instant, the atmosphere grew tense.
The ordinary civilians began to panic and scatter. They weren’t fools;
they knew that a clash between extraordinary figures like Chu He and Ye Gucheng would surely produce destructive shockwaves.
As common people, they didn’t dare risk getting caught in the middle, afraid of being collateral damage and losing their lives.
Meanwhile, most of the Martial Artists present chose to retreat to a safe distance, their faces filled with excitement and anticipation,
because a duel between two top-tier masters was about to unfold before their eyes—a rare opportunity indeed.
Facing Ye Gucheng’s fierce assault, Chu He remained unusually calm, standing his ground like an unmovable mountain.
He watched Ye Gucheng calmly and said with indifference, "You are not my match. Why humiliate yourself?"
Chu He had a clear assessment of Ye Gucheng’s strength.
Ye Gucheng was indeed outstanding among ordinary Martial Artists, and he even had few rivals within the Emperor Realm.
But to Chu He, all of this was nothing more than a passing cloud.
His power was far beyond what Ye Gucheng could imagine. It was like an ant roaring before a giant; no matter how much it jumped around, it was still just an ant.
Chu He felt no ripples in his heart at such a provocation. He couldn’t even be bothered to take it seriously.
As for Ye Gucheng,
the young man who proclaimed himself a top-tier master was not affected by Chu He’s composure.
One moment he was standing on top of the pole; the next, he appeared before Chu He like a phantom.
His movements were exceptionally strange, as if a frame had dropped from a martial arts movie, astonishing even the high-level Martial Artists present.
To the crowd, his actions seemed extremely choppy, yet his speed was unbelievably fast.
Facing Ye Gucheng’s swift attack, Chu He simply and casually extended two fingers.
He precisely caught the tip of Ye Gucheng’s thrusting sword between his index and middle fingers.
In that instant, the Elemental Power suffusing the sword was instantly dispelled by a much stronger force.
Ye Gucheng felt an irresistible power surge through the blade, causing him to lose control of his sword.
With just two fingers, Chu He had effortlessly neutralized Ye Gucheng’s attack.
"You truly live up to your reputation. For now, you are worthy of the title of Blue Star’s number one expert."
Ye Gucheng’s voice echoed in the air, but his body suddenly twisted into a bizarre posture,
like a dancer, elegant and swift.
A short sword slid from his sleeve, and he quickly gripped it while simultaneously letting go of the longsword caught between Chu He’s fingers.
’If I can’t use it, then I must discard it without hesitation.’ 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Ye Gucheng’s figure moved like the wind, instantly creating countless afterimages around him.
In a flash, innumerable copies of Ye Gucheng appeared at once, dazzling the eyes of all who watched.
However, Chu He saw through it all. He released the sword and shot out his hand, accurately grabbing one of the afterimages before him.
It was the real Ye Gucheng.
Chu He’s hand clamped down on Ye Gucheng’s wrist. Then, with a sudden exertion of force, he twisted the arm behind Ye Gucheng’s back, pressing his own body tightly against him and immobilizing him.
The short sword slipped from Ye Gucheng’s grasp and clattered to the ground.
"Your eyes are so sharp. To think you could keep up with my speed... Could it be that your Primordial Spirit has already reached the pinnacle?"
Ye Gucheng’s voice was filled with astonishment.
Chu He ignored his question and asked coolly, "Who sent you?"
"No one can command me. I am free."
Although subdued by Chu He, Ye Gucheng’s voice was still full of defiance.
He struggled to break free from Chu He’s hold, but all the Elemental Power in his body was completely suppressed by a force he had never felt before,
as if he were being held fast in the grip of a giant hand, unable to move.
"Are you really alone?" Chu He asked again.
"A beast walks alone; only cattle and sheep travel in herds," Ye Gucheng replied coldly.
Just then, Chu He’s nose twitched as a faint, pleasant fragrance wafted to him.
He looked down at Ye Gucheng, whom he had pinned, and noticed the delicate scent emanating from his body.
He couldn’t help but chuckle. "Your hands are so small, and your wrists are so slender."
"Your waist is very slender, too," he added, his gaze unconsciously drifting downward.
"Why is it bulging here?" Chu He asked.
"You... you... you..."
Ye Gucheng’s expression instantly became extremely unnatural. He tried to struggle, but Chu He’s strength kept him immobile.
He could only grit his teeth and say, "This is my Cultivation Technique! It allows me to store Elemental Power in various parts of my body so it never runs out. How could someone like you possibly understand a noble and great existence like me?"
Hearing this, a flicker of interest flashed in Chu He’s eyes.
He reached out and gently ran his hand over Ye Gucheng’s face as if searching for something.
Suddenly, with a light flick of his fingers, he peeled off a thin layer of skin.
Ye Gucheng froze. Once the thin mask that had covered his original features was removed, a young and stunningly beautiful face was revealed.
