Naruto: Unlocking Kaido Template-Chapter 237
Chapter 237 - 237
The night sky was breathtaking—especially from above the clouds.
Far below, Roran hummed with energy, powering the Sky City as it climbed higher into the atmosphere. The air grew colder with each passing second, but thanks to Rossinanti's protective barrier, the chill was tolerable. Just a little nippy.
Karin leaned over the guardrail, gazing down. The clouds now lay beneath them, and everything on the ground looked tiny—so small that even ants felt too generous a comparison. People weren't visible at all. Only the scars of battle—craters and shattered earth—could still be seen, serving as reminders of the war's devastation.
Feeling dizzy from the altitude, Karin shook her head and stomped back to the center of the city, pouting.
"Maybe... maybe Hatsuizumi bailed because she's scared of heights?" she muttered. It started as a joke, but the more she thought about it, the more it made sense. Heights were the one thing that rattled her. That had to be why she chose to stay behind and support Zixu instead.
She was about to go find Chinano and talk about it, but paused when she noticed her staring blankly at the moon.
"You okay? You look kinda spaced out..." Karin followed Chinano's gaze, but all she saw was the full moon—round and bright, like a massive eyeball. Nothing unusual.
"It's nothing... It's just... I feel like something on the moon is calling me," Chinano said softly. Her tone was calm, but the look in her eyes was distant and confused. "It's like... a voice, gentle but persistent. As if someone's waiting for me up there."
Down on the floor, Kabuto crouched quietly, a glint of cold light flashing in his snake-like eyes.
"Lord Orochimaru... who do you think will win this time?"
Meanwhile, Neji was organizing the city. He'd already evacuated the residents back into their homes, and now a steel shield emerged along the city's edge. With their altitude climbing, safety had to come first.
"Tell Sara and the others to push Roran engine to max capacity. Use all the power at once. We're heading straight for the moon!" Neji commanded.
The entire Sky City was encased in steel, with only a single circular glass dome at the top. Through it, the moon appeared closer—and much, much larger.
"Roran responding! Full power activated—four stages ahead!" Sara's voice rang out through the intercom, full of determination.
Everyone felt the powerful thrust beneath their feet, propelling them upward with shocking speed. Eventually, they reached a critical point—past the pull of gravity.
Before, the force of acceleration had them pressed to the floor. But now, suddenly, their bodies felt weightless. The heavy gravity that had grounded them their whole lives vanished. It was like chains had been broken—every muscle, every cell felt free. Light.
It was... surreal. And a little terrifying.
Karin, ever the curious one, summoned wings of blue flame behind her and tried to fly in the zero-gravity space. Unfortunately, her control was clumsy, and she ended up stuck on the central defense tower, flailing.
Rossinanti, as usual, was chill as hell. He floated mid-air, using his giant snake as a pillow, dozing off like nothing was happening.
Kabuto, however, was fully awake—jotting down data with glee. He was in scientific heaven. This was uncharted territory, and his researcher instincts were on fire.
But Chinano remained focused, staring at the ever-growing moon. The voice in her heart was growing stronger. Someone—or something—was definitely calling her.
Far below, Sara stared in awe. She had spent most of her life underground. And now? Now she was flying above the world. Everything she'd known had been flipped on its head.
As they neared the moon, Neji issued his next orders.
"Alright, enough fooling around. Prepare for landing!"
Neji slid down the tower like he'd done it a thousand times. On the ground, Sara pulled out the seed stockpile, laying them under the moonlight to see if any mutations would occur in this unique environment.
The previously evacuated residents stepped out of their homes. None of them had imagined they'd be part of something like this. Since joining the Uzumaki Nation, they'd expected better rights and protection—but flying to the damn moon? That was next-level. They looked around in amazement. The moon was desolate, yes, but oddly tranquil. The view was unforgettable.
"Residents, please remain inside Sky City," Neji reminded them over the speakers.
But Chinano and her group had already wandered outside.
"Doesn't feel any different from Earth," Karin said, looking around. Her body floated slightly, but otherwise, everything seemed... normal.
"It has to be here," Kabuto muttered, appearing beside Chinano. "The Byakugan's secret—it's buried on this moon."
"This is your battlefield," he added. "Go find it."
Then, without another word, Kabuto started digging into the moon's surface. He remembered an old legend—of a corpse buried on the moon, perfectly preserved, as if asleep. It sounded absurd, but if he found it... it would be the discovery of a lifetime.
Karin stayed close to Chinano. Meanwhile, Roran energy core—the "battery"—needed a break. If it died now, they'd be stranded.
Following the voice in her heart, Chinano moved forward, one crater at a time. The pull grew stronger, guiding her like a compass. Eventually, she reached a spot where the voice felt the loudest.
"This is it?" Karin looked around. "Doesn't look like much."
She closed her eyes and activated Kagura's Mind Eye. And instantly, her senses were overwhelmed.
A massive sphere of chakra blazed into view—a fireball in the darkness. The sheer volume of energy made her eyes sting. Worse, she felt like a hundred Byakugan were staring back at her. Familiar. Terrifying. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
"Chinano, be careful! There's—!"
Before she could finish, the ground trembled. A giant mechanical puppet burst from below, separating Karin from Chinano. Karin's warning was cut off as Chinano stumbled forward.
Despite the lack of gravity, she couldn't jump. Her body suddenly felt like it weighed a thousand pounds—as if gravity itself had been turned back on just for her. She couldn't resist. Chinano fell, crashing into a hidden pit—right into the heart of the moon.
