Naruto: This Genius is Somewhat Ordinary-Chapter 366
"Damn it, this thing just won’t break!"
Naruto drove the massive purple-black blade down again and again, Kurama Susanoo roaring as it cleaved toward Six Paths Obito.
Against the colossal avatar, Obito looked impossibly small.
And yet, with nothing more than the Sage’s staff in his hand, he parried every strike with ease.
More than once, he flipped Kurama Susanoo onto its back like a toy.
Obito glanced at his palm, flexing his fingers. He had almost finished adjusting. The Ten-Tails’ power flowed smoothly now.
He looked back at the giant avatar as it forced itself upright again.
"After witnessing power like this," Obito asked calmly, "why do you still refuse to give up?"
Inside the avatar, Naruto was breathing hard. Sweat ran down his face.
"Because I carry everyone’s hopes," he said with a grin. "And because I’ve never known how to quit!"
"Kurama!"
Kurama Susanoo opened its jaws wide.
A massive black sphere began to form.
The final Tailed Beast Bomb.
Obito snorted. "Struggling against Six Paths power is meaningless."
He slammed his hands into the ground.
The earth split.
The Ten-Tails’ form erupted upward, transforming into an enormous divine tree. Four massive crimson buds bloomed along its trunk, their color dark and oppressive, like something fed by endless blood.
Each flower opened to reveal not petals—but cannon-like chambers.
One of them began condensing a black chakra sphere.
Another Tailed Beast Bomb.
The two attacks launched at the same time.
They collided.
The sky was swallowed by light.
Kurama Susanoo was blasted backward, crashing into the ground with a thunderous impact.
Even with Susanoo layered over Kurama’s power, the Nine-Tails simply couldn’t compete with the Ten-Tails’ raw output.
The avatar shattered.
Naruto dropped to one knee. Sasuke did the same.
They were empty.
That last attack had taken everything.
"So this is Six Paths power..." Sasuke muttered, eyes shaking. Compared to this, even the Rinnegan felt insufficient.
Even if he could catch Obito with Amenotejikara, how would he kill him?
In his current state, Obito could probably tank Sage Art Kirin without flinching.
A black sphere suddenly tore through the fading smoke.
A Truth-Seeking Orb.
It shot straight toward Naruto and Sasuke.
Sasuke grit his teeth and grabbed Naruto’s arm, preparing to force another spatial swap. Even without recovered ocular power, he could exchange places with one of his marked kunai near the Leaf—
Then he froze.
He felt it.
Another marked kunai.
Close.
And its owner was—
"Tōma!"
Sasuke’s eyes lit up.
"I’m here."
The calm voice in his ear made all the difference.
Fujimoto Tōma stepped forward, placing himself between them and the incoming Truth-Seeking Orb.
Wrapped chakra covered his hand as he reached out and touched it.
The orb vanished.
Gone, as if it had never existed.
Sasuke smiled.
With Tōma here, the crisis was over.
Even facing Six Paths Obito, Sasuke felt a strange, unwavering confidence. In his memory, Fujimoto Tōma had never lost.
The smoke from the earlier explosion finally cleared.
Obito stared at the figure standing before Naruto and Sasuke.
"So it really is you," he said, voice low. "Sixth Hokage."
He wasn’t surprised.
The moment he lost control of the Truth-Seeking Orb, he’d already guessed it had been removed by space-time ninjutsu.
Sasuke’s abilities didn’t work that way.
Only one man he knew could do that so casually.
Tōma glanced at his palm. Most of the chakra coating had been shredded away.
"So I still can’t touch those directly," he murmured.
"Sixth Hokage," Obito said grimly, "you’re too late."
"Late?" Tōma replied, cloak fluttering. "I think my timing’s perfect."
Obito’s eyes widened. "No matter how stubborn you are, absolute power brings only despair. Even a Hokage can’t change that."
"This world is already dead."
He rose into the air.
The four crimson flowers on the divine tree began condensing four Tailed Beast Bombs at once.
As if that weren’t enough, Obito hurled six black chakra rods outward, each one wreathed in the same red flames burning from the protrusions on his back.
His hands flew through seals.
"Six Crimson Yang Formation!"
A hexagonal barrier snapped into place, walls blazing red.
Even the Four Crimson Yang Formation once required four Hokage.
And Obito had deployed six alone.
Tōma didn’t interrupt him.
He turned to Naruto and held out a fist.
Naruto blinked, then grinned and bumped it.
Inside them, the two halves of the Nine-Tails finally met.
"It’s been a while," the Yin Nine-Tails said. "How’ve you been?"
"So I wasn’t imagining it," the Yang Nine-Tails replied. "I felt you earlier."
"I need chakra," Yang Kurama said bluntly. "Naruto’s burning through it too fast."
Yin Kurama clicked his tongue. "Being asked by myself feels weird... but this is about to be Tōma’s fight."
"Give it to him," Tōma said. "I don’t need much."
"Tch. If I run dry, don’t blame me."
"You won’t," Tōma replied. "I’m not losing."
"...That confidence again," Yin Kurama muttered.
"Because it’s Tōma!" Naruto said without hesitation.
Even with four Tailed Beast Bombs forming overhead, Naruto felt safe.
Kurama sighed. "He’s right. As much as I hate to admit it... the Sixth Hokage’s already surpassed Hashirama."
Yin Kurama went silent.
Hashirama Senju.
The memory alone made him shudder.
But if both Naruto and his other half believed this man could win...
Then so would he.
Tōma pulled his hand back.
"Naruto, share chakra with Sasuke. Then rest."
"Got it!" Naruto said eagerly.
In a flash of space-time distortion, Tōma sent Naruto and Sasuke to Tsunade’s side.
Then he turned back alone.
Above him, Obito was fully encased in Truth-Seeking Orbs, leaving only the four massive Tailed Beast Bombs visible.
"You can’t teleport four Ten-Tails bombs at once," Obito declared.
"Whether I can or not," Tōma said lightly, "is my problem... Uchiha traitor."
Obito’s eyes burned.
"Then let the Ten-Tails erase every last shred of hope!"
The orbs sealed tighter around him.
The four Tailed Beast Bombs continued to grow.
