Naruto: This Genius is Somewhat Ordinary-Chapter 347
Inside the allied forces’ command base, the Fourth Raikage stared wide-eyed at Fujimoto Tōma.
Tōma sat calmly at the table, one hand holding a teacup, posture relaxed enough to be irritating.
There was no doubt about it.
The man in front of him had to be a shadow clone.
Just moments ago, frontline reports had confirmed that the Third Raikage and the Second Mizukage had both been sealed by Tōma alone. That kind of result could only come from the real body.
Which meant this version, casually drinking tea, had to be a clone.
Even so, the Fourth Raikage frowned.
"You’re really letting one body deal with those five from Konoha?" he asked bluntly. "They were all famous monsters in their time."
"It’ll be fine," Tōma replied, smiling lightly.
"Hmph. Don’t get reckless," the Raikage snorted. "You’re the supreme commander of the alliance. And one of our strongest assets. Don’t throw your life away just to show off."
The words were sharp, but the concern beneath them was genuine.
Tōma glanced at him. Internally, he felt a quiet thrill.
He wasn’t addicted to battle. But every now and then, cutting loose felt... good.
Simple. Clean.
Fight. Win. Done.
And although this was only a spirit-linked shadow clone, every sensation flowed directly back to his real body. The rush, the calculations, the danger. He felt all of it.
If it were his real body on the field, the fight would have ended far faster. One dimensional slash and it would be over.
But shadow clones had limits.
Under extreme impact, they dispersed. That meant techniques like Swift Release: Absolute Godspeed were off the table. The physical strain alone would tear a clone apart.
Dimensional Slash could be used, but only once. Continuous use required speed beyond what a clone could sustain.
Because of that, the clone relied more on ninjutsu variants like Dimensional Blade rather than close-range body techniques.
Even so, Tōma was confident.
The clone’s raw stats were inferior, but the technique set it carried was absurdly high-end. The only real restriction was avoiding direct hits.
Wood Release clones would have been sturdier.
But researching Wood Release just for a clone felt like a waste of time.
Yes, he understood the theory. Earth, water, plus Yang Release. But knowing the recipe didn’t mean the dish would cook itself.
Right now, Tōma was still moving forward. Expanding sideways could wait until he hit a wall.
Magnet Release and Swift Release were different. They were practical.
Swift Release combined his strongest affinities: wind and lightning. Easy to develop. And speed was something he valued deeply.
In short-distance movement, his full-speed dash could even outpace Flying Thunder God activation.
Magnet Release, meanwhile, had an unexpected benefit.
Flight.
Not true flight, but close enough. Manipulating metal around his body let him move freely through the air.
The Tsuchikage’s Light-Weight Technique would have been better, but that wasn’t something the Stone Village handed out casually. Even as alliance commander, outright stealing it would have been crossing a line.
"Hmph. Do whatever you want," the Raikage said. "If you die, I’ll be promoted."
"Appreciate the concern, Chief Strategist," Tōma replied pleasantly.
The Raikage’s face darkened.
After a while, Tōma turned toward Nara Shikaku.
"Notify Tsunade, Kakashi, Sasuke, and Might Guy," Tōma said. "I’ll be sending people their way from the rear battlefield."
Shikaku froze, then smiled.
That instruction meant only one thing.
Absolute advantage.
He had worried when he heard Tōma was facing five Kage-level enemies alone. But now... maybe his understanding of Tōma’s strength was simply outdated.
"I’ll handle it," Shikaku said, heading for the intelligence division.
"Wait," Tōma added. "Also call Shizune over."
"Yes, sir."
After Shikaku left, the Fourth Raikage couldn’t hold back anymore.
"Shadow clones can’t share information in real time," he said. "The original only learns things when the clone disperses. So how are you getting frontline intel?"
"Because it’s not a normal clone," Tōma replied calmly.
"...A special Konoha technique?" the Raikage guessed.
Tōma didn’t deny it.
Strictly speaking, Konoha’s clone techniques weren’t special. The unique part was the Spirit Transformation technique.
But combined together, the Raikage’s assumption wasn’t entirely wrong.
The First Division battlefield.
Kakashi leaned back-to-back with another shinobi, breathing heavily as they faced the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
"I never expected you to join the alliance," Kakashi said.
"Tch. You think I wanted to?" the man beside him snapped.
Bandaged from head to toe, eyebrows nonexistent, Momochi Zabuza glared ahead. "If not for Haku dragging me here, and my own hatred for fake lives, I wouldn’t have shown up."
Haku smiled quietly behind him.
He hadn’t forced Zabuza at all.
"I thought I was seeing things when I spotted you in the First Division," Kakashi said lightly.
"Hah. When I first showed up, they nearly arrested me as a rogue ninja," Zabuza cursed.
"You are a rogue ninja," Kakashi deadpanned.
Zabuza choked, then shot him a murderous look.
"After the war," Kakashi continued, "I’ll report your performance. You’ll be able to live quietly. No pursuit."
Zabuza said nothing.
But his grip tightened as he stared at the swordsmen, especially the man holding the Executioner’s Blade.
That was his weapon.
Stealing a blade was a blood debt.
And deeper than that, there was only one reason Zabuza was here.
He had finally found a life worth living.
Then someone came along and tried to trap the entire world in a dream.
That didn’t sit well with him.
"I’ll skin that bastard alive," Zabuza growled, relaying detailed intel about the Seven Swordsmen.
Kakashi listened intently. With intel, a fight changed completely.
Elsewhere, pressure across the battlefield eased. Even Might Guy, holding back the Eight Gates, felt it.
Haku smiled softly as he faced two kekkei genkai users.
Scorch Release. Explosion Release.
Neither was inherently countered by Ice Release. It all came down to mastery.
"Zabuza-sama," Haku said quietly, eyes steady. "I’ll do my part."
Hand seals flashed.
"Ice Release. Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals."
"It’s over," Kakashi said later, watching the last seals take effect.
Haku had been pushed back at first, but with Zabuza’s support, the tide turned decisively.
The battlefield fell quiet.
As Kakashi rested with eyes closed, an intelligence transmission came through. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
He opened them sharply.
...His father?
Reanimated.
Defeated.
And being sent to him.
For a man who had seen everything, Kakashi’s heart wavered.
Blame?
Forgiveness?
There was no time.
The next instant, two severed halves appeared before him.
Kakashi stared.
Seeing his father again like this—
It was... complicated.
