Naruto: Starting with Infinite Chakra-Chapter 227: The Great Battle Begins
Chapter 227 - 227: The Great Battle Begins
The enemy had five Kage-level combatants: the Mizukage, the Raikage, the Tsuchikage, and two Jinchūriki. However, the tailed beasts sealed within these Jinchūriki weren't among the strongest.
Hiruzen Sarutobi and Enma could at least hold them off temporarily, which meant Jiraiya's primary opponents were the three Kage.
The Raikage, Tsuchikage, and Mizukage were all stronger than the Third Kazekage. Back when Jiraiya fought the Kazekage, the man's attacks and defenses had barely fazed him. Now, with the power of the Four-Tails fully integrated, his strength had increased even further. A three-on-one battle would be difficult, but if he was careful, he could manage it.
...
Upon reaching the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind, Jiraiya encountered the approaching forces led by the three Kage.
Neither side was surprised—their scouts had already reported the enemy's movements in advance.
"To muster such a force and trespass into our land... isn't that a bit much?" Hiruzen Sarutobi said coldly, his gaze sweeping over the enemy.
"Hand over Jiraiya, and we can avoid this war," the Raikage bellowed.
"You know exactly how this war started, Sarutobi. It wasn't us who instigated it—it was your Land of Fire that provoked the conflict," the Mizukage added. "Surrender Jiraiya, return the One-Tail and the Four-Tails, and we will withdraw."
Of course, their words were pure deception. With the Land of Wind's shinobi now at their disposal, they had no intention of backing down. Their true aim was to drive a wedge between Sarutobi and Jiraiya, though they knew the chances of success were slim.
"What a joke. Do you think the Land of Fire is a place you can come and go as you please? Since you've stepped foot here, you might as well stay forever." Jiraiya stepped forward, his face cold.
The Raikage and the others still believed they held the initiative. How utterly foolish.
Jiraiya had no interest in wasting words. With both armies now face to face, there was no need for further discussion—only battle remained. They had already prepared a battle plan. It was time to execute it.
...
As Jiraiya's words fell, his Lightning Flame Blade was already drawn, slashing forward in a brilliant arc of lightning and fire.
"Earth Release: Rock Arm!"
The Tsuchikage reacted first, summoning a massive arm of stone from the ground to intercept the incoming blade.
The rock arm shattered, dispersing the blade's energy, but Jiraiya had already vanished, retreating toward a more open battlefield.
"We'll handle Jiraiya. You two keep Sarutobi occupied. There's no need to kill him—just hold him off!" the Raikage commanded the two Jinchūriki.
The next second, his body surged with lightning, forming the protective cloak of his Lightning Release Armor. Without hesitation, he charged after Jiraiya, while the Mizukage and Tsuchikage followed suit.
They had planned this from the start—three against Jiraiya, leaving Sarutobi to the Jinchūriki.
After all, Jiraiya was the bigger threat by far.
...
"Lightning Release: Lariat!"
The Raikage, his body cloaked in lightning, shot toward Jiraiya at incredible speed.
"Earth Release: Lightweight Boulder Jutsu!"
The Tsuchikage enhanced the Raikage's speed further, causing him to blur into an almost imperceptible streak of lightning.
Even with his keen perception, Jiraiya found it difficult to track his movements.
"Guardian Deity!"
With a surge of chakra, Jiraiya conjured a massive ethereal guardian, its form solidifying around him just as the Raikage crashed into it.
The guardian trembled from the impact, its chakra fluctuating where it had been struck.
"What kind of jutsu is this?!" the Tsuchikage's eyes widened in shock.
Every previous enemy who had witnessed this technique had perished.
"Is this an Uchiha technique?" the Mizukage muttered, frowning.
"No, it's not. He doesn't have the Sharingan, and only the highest-level Sharingan can manifest a technique like this. None of the current Uchiha possess such an ability. This must be an original technique Jiraiya created," the Tsuchikage analyzed.
"Its defense seems formidable, but what about its offensive power?"
"Water Release: Water Severing Wave!"
The Mizukage quickly formed hand seals, unleashing a high-pressure jet of water toward the Guardian Deity.
Jiraiya's guardian unfurled its divine parasol, effortlessly blocking the attack.
Without pause, Jiraiya summoned two more constructs—Thunder Giant and Flame Giant.
His mastery over the Four-Tails' power had granted him an additional treasure: a crimson gourd, its surface flowing with molten energy.
Now, he sent the Thunder Giant and Flame Giant against the Mizukage and Tsuchikage.
Meanwhile, he himself remained locked in battle with the Raikage.
The Kage's synergy was undeniable, particularly between the Tsuchikage and the Raikage. Their coordination made them a fearsome duo. In the original timeline, Ōnoki and the Fourth Raikage had fought Madara Uchiha together, their teamwork amplifying their strength considerably.
However, Jiraiya had his own methods. Though his constructs lacked independent will, he had prepared shadow clones to control them.
After entering Sage Mode, he created two clones, embedding them within the Thunder Giant and Flame Giant, respectively. With this, they could fight as extensions of himself.
In moments, the battlefield was divided—each Kage forced into their own one-on-one battle.
...
The Guardian Deity raised a massive hand, gathering Senjutsu chakra into a swirling sphere of lightning-infused energy before striking toward the Raikage.
Yet the Raikage, clad in his Lightning Armor, showed no fear.
Without hesitation, he shot forward, hand outstretched, lightning surging from his fingertips.
The two attacks collided with a deafening explosion.
The Rasengan shattered, sending a shockwave through the battlefield. The Raikage was flung backward, crashing into the ground, but his Lightning Armor remained intact—he was unharmed.

Hey everyone!
I recently found a really good fanfic called "Starting from One Piece with the Rinnegan", you can also find it on my Webnovel profile. It's about a character with the Rinnegan who ends up in the One Piece world.
He's not some overpowered guy crushing Yonko on day one, but he's definitely not weak either. He's strong enough to survive and grow, which gives the story a nice balance.
I'd say the pacing is smooth, easy to read, and packed with action. Personally, I didn't feel bored even when rereading it, which is rare for me!
Highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for something fun and engaging to read.
