Chapter 40 - Out Of Canon

1 Month Later...

The month passed in a blur of sweat and exhaustion. Teriyaki trained relentlessly, pushing his body and mind to the limit, he had nothing else to do. The village still didn't fully trust him, but at least they let him focus on training rather than sweeping the streets when he requested it. His chakra control sharpened, his movements became more precise, and he finally mastered Water Severing Wave, a jutsu strong enough to slice through solid rock. A jet that he shot through his mouth. A longer, more destructive and sharp version of wild water wave.

But the past had other plans.

It was a quiet night when they came.

The Hidden Leaf shimmered under the pale glow of the moon, its streets deserted save for the occasional patrol. Teriyaki slept soundly in his small room, unaware of the approaching shadows. Two figures moved swiftly across the rooftops, silent as wraiths.

"Tch. This is a joke, yeah," Deidara whispered, perched atop a nearby building. His single visible eye gleamed with amusement. "Orochimaru's so desperate to get his brat back he sent us for a kid?"

"Orders are orders," Kisame murmured, resting Samehada against his shoulder. "Besides, I wouldn't mind stretching my legs. He says he'll owe us both a favor if we do this for him."

Deidara smirked. "Let's not keep him waiting then, yeah?"

It started with an explosion.

A clay spider detonated against the side of a nearby building, sending shockwaves through the village. Alarms blared. Shinobi scrambled to their posts. But the real attack had already begun.

Teriyaki bolted upright, heart pounding. A second explosion rocked the street outside, bathing his room in flickering orange light. Something was wrong.

A blur of motion—he barely had time to react before a kunai sliced through the wooden frame of his door. He lunged to the side just as the entire wall burst apart in a shower of splinters. Smoke filled the air, choking him. Through the chaos, he saw a figure emerge.

Deidara.

"Yo, kid," the bomber said, casually dusting off his cloak. "You're coming with us, yeah."

"Why are you here?' Teriyaki's eyes darkened. "Orochimaru..." It was over, there was no way he could fight back against them. "Why is this happening... I thought I would have a few months and Orochimaru would come himself..."

Teriyaki barely had time to form a hand seal when a monstrous shadow loomed behind Deidara.

Kisame Hoshigaki.

"Fighting back? That's cute," Kisame grinned, rows of shark-like teeth gleaming. "Let's make this quick."

But before they could move—

Lightning arced through the air.

Kakashi appeared in a blur, Raikiri crackling in his palm. His eyes were sharp, his stance unreadable. "You're not taking him. Our spy told us everything. They're not Orochimaru but they're here anyways..."

Then another figure landed beside him, striking a ridiculous pose. "HO! The Power of Youth won't allow this!" Might Guy stood ready, his eyes ablaze with determination. "Kakashi, let's show these two villains the might of Konoha!"

Deidara scoffed. "Oh, great. The spandex one."

Kisame laughed, resting his massive blade on his shoulder. "This might be fun."

The battle erupted in an instant.

Kakashi clashed with Kisame, his Chidori colliding with Samehada in a burst of sparks. Guy launched himself at Deidara, striking with blinding speed, forcing the bomber to leap back onto his clay bird.

Teriyaki tried to move, tried to run, but before he could even react, Deidara's hand shot forward, mouth in his palm spitting out a miniature clay bird.

It shot toward him. Too fast. His body flicker technique failed.

He barely had time to register what happened before—

BOOM.

His vision blurred. His body felt weightless.

By the time his senses returned, the wind was whipping past his face. His arms and legs wouldn't move—ropes bound him tightly. The village was nothing but a speck below.

He was flying.

Deidara had him.

He struggled, twisting against the bindings. "LET ME GO!"

Deidara laughed. "You should be thanking me, yeah! Orochimaru's been looking forward to seeing you again."

"That bastard!" Teriyaki cursed. "He was too weak so he asked for help..."

Below, Kakashi and Guy were still fighting Kisame, but something was wrong.

Kisame's body shimmered.

Then—it self deconstructed and splashed. A water clone.

Teriyaki's stomach dropped.

"They weren't here to fight —" Kakashi sighed, realizing they'd been tricked."But why did they want the boy so much?"

The real Kisame was nowhere to be found.

Deidara gave one last salute as his clay bird soared higher. "See ya, Copy Ninja. Thanks for the warm welcome, yeah!"

Kakashi's Sharingan burned as he locked eyes with Teriyaki, frustration clear on his face.

Then—

The village disappeared into the distance.

Teriyaki woke up to the cold, damp air of Orochimaru's lair.

The moment his eyes snapped open, a familiar voice greeted him from the shadows.

"Welcome back, my dear experiment," Orochimaru hissed, golden eyes gleaming.

Teriyaki gritted his teeth. "What the hell do you want from me now? You lost, Orochimaru. I ruined your plan. So are you going to kill me?"

A slow, sinister chuckle echoed through the chamber. "Lost? Oh, my dear boy, you've only delayed the inevitable. Do you truly believe that Konoha is your home? That they trust you? No... you belong here, with me. And now that you're back, I have much more in store for you."

Kisame leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. "You really pissed him off, kid. You should hear some of the things he's got planned. Pretty gruesome stuff."

Deidara scoffed. "Tch, honestly, I think he's more upset about having to send us after you, yeah. Not exactly a high-profile mission."

Orochimaru stepped closer, tilting Teriyaki's chin up with one pale finger. "You will understand soon enough. No more running, no more hiding. This time, I will mold you into what you were meant to be. And Konoha... well, let's just say your little vacation is over. From now on, I will no longer show mercy. Your life will become the hell you gave me."

Teriyaki's blood ran cold.

"And this is my only fate..."

Kisame and Deidara left happily.

"Don't forget the favors you promised us Orochimaru. They better be worth it."

Left alone, Orochimaru turned off the lights, his golden eyes gleaming vibrantly.

"Now, it begins."
