Chapter 73: Chapter Seventy-Three: Please Find Me.

New York city.

2:25pm.

~~~
Narika stirred in her sleep, until she felt the cold wind fan against her arm and she whimpered towards the roughness against her face, and fluttered her eyes open to see the damaged car in front of her.
She didn’t really have any idea if that was her imagination, or if she was sleeping because the last she could remember was arriving in NYC.
Yeah.
She did arrive safely, but the rest was a blur and that didn’t sit right with her, when she sensed a swarm of dejavu washed over her, when she tried forcing her minc to think of what happened after that.
Without needing much to say, she sat up instantly to take notice of her surrounding. She was in somewhat abandoned car factory. This isn’t the hotel room she booked.
Just then, she felt something clicked in her head, and her memories came back. The taxi driver, Luke and the water. He fucking drugged her and took away her purse.
"No..no, not this please."She cried, when her eyes met her luggage that was opened to see that her properties were disorganized. It was very obvious that she has been robbed, on her first day here and she had been robbed of everything.
Her phone.
Her debit card.
"Please.. what is all this?" She asked no one, as she sat besides her luggage on the floor, tears dripping down her face as she took up her clothes to see if there’s anyway, her phone could have slipped so she could know where to go from here, and when she found nothing. She yelled out in abject frustration.
"Why is this happening to me?" She asked, kicking her luggage away from her, as she curled her knees up to her jaw, while she sat against an abandoned car that was probably going to get crushed and used as trash.
"Why am i so unlucky?" This time, the young lady asked fully convinced that it was not just Adrik that was the problem here. Rather she was, her entire identity is nothing but badluck.
How could she be stupid, and clumsy to think that after suspecting that the taxi driver, who was up to no good, would not tamper with the water, and take away her things.
"I’m sorry if i make you uncomfortable with my stares. I couldn’t help it. You are really beautiful ma’am."
Narika stiffed where she sat when Luke’s comments came into her mind, and she stood up immediately to do a thorough investigation on herself, to check if he had done anything to her sexually.
Relief washed through her when she didn’t feel any pain, nor discomfort. She would really go crazy if she loses her virginity to that asshole.
"The name is Luke. I’m a taxi driver and a tour guide incase you need one. This is my card."
Narika remembered him giving her his card, and her shoving it in the pocket of her jeans. Her hands went for the piece of paper, and a smile graced her face when she saw that the idiot wasn’t wise enough to take it away after robbing her. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"I will get you, asshole," She muttered, before she packed up her luggage and made her way out of the place she was. Although she was still new to this place, Narika wasn’t giving up on finding Luke and making him pay for what he did.
~~~

Four hours later.

A silhouette of a female can be seen, seated outside an old building as passerbys, who passed in on the same road, would turn to look at her before going about their daily activities.

The woman was crying, and she didn’t care that she was attracting a lot of attention to herself, but none of them had seemed it upon themselves to walk towards her and ask her what the mater was.

Not that she would trust anyone who comes her way, and try to be of help to her. Why is that?

Because that woman is Narika, and right now she’s stuck in the middle of nowhere in New York without any money, nor her phone to call for help. She was broke, frustrated and most importantly angry than any other person could be right now.

" I’m sorry miss, but the taxi company on the card had been out of business for ten years."

The words of the kind man, who she had met when she arrived at the address on the card that the taxi driver/ con man, Luke had given to her, explained to her.

Not only was Luke heartless, but she would give it up to him that he is smart. Sometimes she wonders to what extends people would go for money.

Maybe Newyork isn’t that good as she proclaimed it to be?

Not only was that the end of her bag day today, she had managed to arrive at the hotel where she had paid to stay only to see that the hotel room was already paid and taken by someone else.

At first it sounded ridiculous to her, and when she tried to clear things up with the receptionist that she had made some payments for the room. This was where her phone could have come in handy, because the receptionist stated that no one under the name Narika Mary Singh had done anything, as paying up for a room.

Was life not unfair?

Not to others, but the young lady was pretty convinced at this point that she might have committed a huge sin in her past life, to deserve this pain and constant embarrassment that were knocking at her doorsteps.

Maybe it’s Adrik?

Today is the day she accepts his proposal, so it can’t be a coincidence that all of this was happening, and somehow he’s not involved.

"I can’t stay away from you, even if i wanted. I would always come looking for you."

She remembered his first words to her, on the first time they had met in her dream. So with that being said, she hoped if there was a possibility that he’s listening, so he should hear her cry for help.

It’s getting late, and she didn’t like the attention she was getting from the men, that would pass by only to turn around and look at her again.

Please find me...

She begged him, but the question is would he listen?

Would he come to her rescue?
