Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 61 - Sixty-One: He’s A Demon?
The Underworld.
Oregon’s palace, the Undertaking.
~~~
Adrik noticed the strange indifferent feeling hanging in the air, the moment he successfully passed through the gate of the undertaking, without any hassle from last time.
The looks he was getting from the ghost’s that were working for Oregon, the most important feature on their face was the fear and he didn’t know if he was the cause of it or Oregon. But anyway he didn’t care, he just wanted to visit his father and knew why he’d been summoned.
The two female ghosts he met outside the door of his palace, instantly had their heads bowed at the sight of him. Okay, now that’s weird.
He’s used to the sight of everyone having this jealous look on their face, and this big sneers on their faces whenever he was here as a result of Oregon’s partial treatment towards him. But that’s their burden to carry, and not his.
Until now, he was intrigued to find out the reason why he’s treated so differently from others, he’s sure that he’s not the first ghost to die such a horribly death and of course the overlord had pity on, and took him in as a son.
So what’s the story?
That’s the question he desperately needed an answer to, especially after the action Sakura pulled on him in his father’s house a few days ago about killing Narika.
Was the price of this special treatment, Sakura?
Does he want him to marry Sakura?
If he can recall vividly when he had a conversation with him, about getting married to the person of his choice. A wave of disappointment fell on his face when he noticed that he wasn’t even a tad bit interested in his child.
Sakura is crazy, and he doesn’t need to end up just like her by entangling his fate with the daughter of the overlord, he wasn’t up for the responsibilities that would arise up with getting married to her.
So with that in mind, he walked through the doors of the palace right into Oregon’s den only to see that it was a full house, all eyes were on him the moment the door opened.
There seated around the table was the Grand Alliance, the five main protectors of the underworld and seated at the head seat was Oregon himself, who had a relieved look on his face after seeing him.
"Well it seems i was a tad bit late, to which i apologize ladies and gentlemen." Adrik said with garlour, but the look on everyone’s face didn’t state that they were in a good mood like him. Well their problem, not his!
"But father i wasn’t informed about.." Adrik said, looking at the five elders that sat down with a stern look on their faces, before looking up to Oregon." This. is there something i should know?" He added, with a laugh ending his words.
"Please sit down Adrik," Oregon finally speaks up, seeing that if he doesn’t do so that Adrik is still going to continue his nonsense ramblings, and that isn’t the reason the Grand Alliance was here.
Oregon himself wasn’t so sure about why he thinks that it is going to happen, but he had no choice but to do this since it’s either this or his child, Sakura and he can’t have that.
"Well I’m here now, so what is this all about?" Adrik demanded now with a serious look on his face since no one was laughing, and obviously he isn’t supposed to be in his best mood too.
If one is summoned by the Grand Alliance it doesn’t mean anything good, and for the past few days he doesn’t remember doing anything that would have him summoned.
"It’s pretty simple Adrik, we are afraid to say that it’s impossible to push through with your wedding." The silver haired was the one to speak, a representative from the northern part of hell that mainly consisted of Succubus and incubus.
There was this look of doubt on Adrik’s face, as if he didn’t understand what exactly the succubus just said, because it doesn’t make any sense.
"Excuse me,?" Adrik asked, a snort leaving his lips as he looked from her to the other four that were present, then to Oregon. " Well i would say that it hurts for not being invited to the engagement part, I get it you are pissed off. So I’m going to pretend that what you said is nothing, but your jealousy showing because i refused to choose a bride from here, I get it. But chill."
Adrik said, pushing his hair back with his right hand before sitting back in his seat, trying hard to not think much about what happened until Oregon spoke up.
"This is not a joke Son, you are going to get rid of every connections you have with her and..." Oregon wasn’t even done with his statement before Adrik’s anger took over, and he banged his hands down on the table.
"You don’t tell me what to do with her! She’s mine!" He roared, his green eyes changing to fiery red angry ones that he doesn’t even understand what’s going on, neither did he care that there’s suddenly a change in the atmosphere when they looked at him.
It was degrading for one to see that the overlord, Oregon, was scared of a mere Definite ghost like Adrik. An abandoned ghost who he had picked up from the street and gave him a life. Now he was shouting at him in front of the Grand Alliance and they aren’t able to say anything either.
Why is that?
They were scared of him, Adrik. They are scared of what he truly is manifesting due to the sensitive topic that brought them here.
"Is this some kind of plan so that i can marry Sakura, well if it is i would be happy to burst your bubbles by telling you that the next time i see Sakura, she’s a dead woman for real. Her soul would be visiting hell for a trip!" Adrik warned him, with the way his anger took over him and he was threatening Oregon in front of the Alliance.
The young man doesn’t even know when he left his seat, and was hovering in the air right infront of Oregon. He doesn’t know when he had mistakenly triggered his power to come alight, because after he was done threatening to kill Sakura. His hands mistakenly touched the table and it went up into flames making him come back to his senses.
"What the..."Adrik spat, moving away from the burning table only to see everyone looking at him, waiting for an explanation for how a ghost possessed the power of a top ranked demon.
He looked at his hands to see his veins illuminating with the fire, his hands a definite shade of red and there’s no denying that he didn’t start that fire.
What di..d I do?
He asked no one in particular, and when he looked up he could see the Grand Alliance saying something to Oregon, who had a defeated look on his face. It was as if he knew that this would happen and definitely he has been caught.
But the more he tried to calm his nerves down, to stop his hands from burning so that the fire could stop. He wasn’t able to control it.
"Breathe." He heard a voice speak to him through the flame, and he had no other option but to do as he was told after a heavy intake of air. Everything calmed down. The fire stopped burning and his hands went back to normal. But his vision’s started getting blurry.
He wasn’t able to hear what exactly the bickering between Oregon, and the rest of the Grand Alliance was, and as he tried to make his way out of here it was too late.
He fell face flat to the floor or so he thought, because the last words he heard is something that would have him bothered for the rest of his life once he wakes up.
" Lucifer would be pissed off."
