Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 41 - Forty-One: The Child.
The underworld,
Oregon’s palace.

Oregon wasn’t someone who could be swayed easily with more words, so as his niece’s consent that didn’t come wholeheartedly from her. It deeply pained his soul, that she was turning out to be just like him, a loner, that would only end up working his ass off for the Grand Alliance, till the end of the universe.
But he wanted something different for her, Sakura deserved a happy life that is filled with nothing but underlying love and tenderness from the man who loves her.
Unfortunately, that man had to be Adrik?
He has always known that the both of them had things ongoing with each other, which had made him to force Adrik to sign a contract with him, that whatever it is he had with his niece wouldn’t end up with her getting married to the likes of him.
He didn’t mention this to her while they were talking earlier today, and now he felt the need to have told her the truth about Adrik, and ofcourse the contract.
Yeah, Adrik has been in the lips of everyone since he died, to the outside world who had taken his death to be more a natural cause. It’s so unfortunate that he had to die, by a mere bullet whereas it would have taken much more than that to kill him, had it been his powers had manifested while in the human world.
Sakura would definitely realize that she stood no chance with him, if she comes to learn the truth about him and his relationship with the underworld.
Whereas, she also wouldn’t love the idea of knowing that he could go back to the human world, and continue living his life without being a ghost.
No, all these secrets were being withheld by the Grand Alliance, and it’s good that she didn’t attend the last gathering that had been mainly because of Adrik, and ofcourse, the human girl.
He didn’t want to hurt Sakura, but she was better off without Adrik so that he could fulfill his destiny, without her attracting the wrath of Lucifer for making him go astray from the plan.
Unfortunately, he knew that it was only a matter of time, until Adrik figures out his role in all of this. It’s only a matter of time until he realizes why Polina doesn’t exist here, and why he had to meet the child.
By now, he knew that the ceremony celebrating his engagement with the human girl was still ongoing.
If there’s anyone who would be really overjoyed about all these, it would have to be Lucifer himself, who was playing a game that had all of them as his pawn.
He heard shufflings behind him, before he noticed that he had company. He wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone right now, but when he turned to look into the red eyes of Lucifer, he had a rethink of what he said, since he could read his thoughts.
"My Lord," He bowed down to him, while he did nothing but smack his lips together before getting down to business as to why he’s here.
"So, is it confirmed that she’s the ’child’?" Lucifer asked, his hands folded at his back and kept a serious look on his face, for Oregon to know that he was taking this matter seriously.
The prophecy about the ’child’ who was going to be the salvation to give him the antichrist. This has been the biggest task that Lucifer, had found himself trying to find who exactly was the ’child’, and her role with him building his army to wage war against the heavens. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The battle between the two dimensions, hell and heaven have only gotten worse with the years that went by, and Lucifer isn’t planning on giving up so easily without saving his face, in this soon coming war that might wipe out the whole universe.
It all started when he committed treason by sleeping with an angel, in the high heavens. Paving way for sin to enter into the heavens, that made the Overruler to move out of his way by killing one of his kind.
He didn’t just stop at that, Lucifer had gone ahead with his Casanova lifestyles and slept with a human, who had his offspring.
An offspring that was way closer to him, a suggestion made by him since it had come of time for him to fulfill his destiny as a son of hell.
"My men are still working on it, the mark hasn’t yet appeared. So we’re still.." Oregon tried to give him his best information at hand, but what he didn’t see next was him being slammed harshly against the wall, with Lucifer’s hands wrapped tightly around his throat.
"My l..lord," He gasped, trying to pry his hands off his neck.
"Do i look like i am patient to wait for any stupid mark?!" Lucifer growled, his red eyes shining so angrily that the walls of Oregon’s palace shaked terribly due to his anger.
"I can’t do anything without confirming firstly that she’s the one, we can’t risk making a mistake...’’Oregon said truthfully, and he saw Lucifer grunt lastly before pushing him off him and he landed on the floor, coughing hard.
"I give you a week, Oregon. We all know that I’m not good at being merciful. Confirm that she’s the child or watch your niece, being taken to be one of my slaves."Lucifer threatened.
All colors drained from Oregon’s face at the mention of his niece, this made him know that he had act fast but how could he confirm that their suspect, was the ’child’ when the mark hasn’t manifested yet?
"I will do as you wish, but please not Sakura." He begged, kneeling in front of Lucifer who did nothing but scoff at him, before leaving his pathetic palace, that would soon collapse on him if he doesn’t do as he said, and give him a feedback in the next week to come.
Oregon slumped down tiredly, after he vanished in front of him. Maybe it would have been for the best that he didn’t assume the position of the overlord? Being an indefinite, would have at least saved him his mental health that was draining every single day.
A week to find ’the child’?
He heard Lucifer’s warning.
They had been searching for her for two hundred years, and now they had a clue. What’s a week that he can’t endure?
