Chapter 39: Chapter Thirty-Nine:A problem In The Future.

After a few hours more, with her sitting isolated in the cell while waiting for a savior out there to help fight her innocence in all of these.

She heard the jingling of keys, and heavy footsteps that probably wasn’t coming her way, that’s what she thought until the door was opened and a deep angry voice called at her.

"Get out!"

Detective Homer.

She raised her head up, to meet his annoyed face that didn’t make her feel bad, because he was being nothing but a douchebag lately, unlike what she had viewed him out to be.

She was too tired to say anything to him, whereas all she wanted to do right now was to go back to her house, and think of where and how exactly to solve the problems in her life.

The young lady was almost out of his sight, but he dragged her wrists into his stiff hands which made her jerk at his roughness.

"What the..."

"Don’t think that this is over, I heard that you and your pathetic little family were outlaws where you come from." He insulted her parents in front of her, and out of instinct she was halfway to slapping the shit outta him, had it been her father didn’t come into view.

"Narika," Mario called, dragging Narika’s eyes that were filled with tears and unsaid words, that contained her resentment for the human being called Detective Homer, she ran into his embrace immediately.

"I’m so sorry," She apologized, for the hassle she had brought to their doorsteps. Now, everyone probably knows what she is, a creep?

An inhuman who doesn’t bleed like the rest of other humans?

She could literally feel the stares of the whole town burning in her heart, but her imagination was cut short by her dad patting her hair to relieve the pain in her hurt.

"It’s okay child, everything is all good now." Mario assured her, he looked up to Detective Homer who did nothing but wait for their father and daughter shower of affection to end, so he could sign some paperwork.

" Dad, I didn’t kill her, I don’t know why they blame me for all these. I didn’t do.." She choked on her words, the tears falling down her face couldn’t let her talk without having her breath running out.

"It’s all good now, it’s okay. Nobody can hurt you now princess," He said, wiping her tears away with the pad of his hands before he turned to the Detective who handed a paper to him.

"Here, thank you"Mario kindly said, without having any idea that the man who was once loving to them, had turned against them instantly by saying.

"Don’t take me. This is not..."He raised his hands, and wagged it at both Mario and Narika who wanted to get out of here already, but was interrupted by an all familiar voice that had everyone’s attention.

"No, I think this is where we call a spade a spade detective," Hendrix interrupted the rude man’s words, his eyes finally connecting with that of the angel he had been searching for, only to realize that she was closer than ever.

He watched Narika’s expression morphed in somewhat surprise, to see him here or maybe a little bit fear coating this brown orbs of hers that he longed to look into.

"I’m so sorry, sir, ’’ Detective Homer apologized, slightly jumping where he stood, which made Narika shocked to see him this way. Oh! So he really can apologize, but who is this man?

Her eyes went back to take in everything of the said man, who had stopped her from taking a very bad decision that could have made her regret even while she’s dead like Adrik.

Seriously? 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

She nearly rolled her eyes at the thoughts of Adrik, how could she be able to think of him when there’s another fine specimen standing in front of her,who is smiling at her and her father?

Detective Homer was long gone, and the silence between both her and Mr. Green’s eyes made her father speak up instantly.

"I actually wanted to introduce you to someone," Maris said, rubbing at his daughter’s hand whose eyes were still slightly showing confusion at what was happening.

Narika didn’t like this one bit, that Mr. Green eyes was smiling at her, like someine who had seen his long time girlfriend, making her push the thoughts that maybe, he was here to report that he nearly found her trying to committed suicide.

Please, let it not be what i am thinking!

She silently prayed, looking at her father who had the biggest smile of all on his face. Was this an introduction of a secret blind date or what?

"I know this isn’t the best time to do this, but anyway.. sweetheart, this is my boss Hendrix. Hendrix, my child, Narika." he introduced the both of them, a shocked gasp escapinv Narika’s lips, when the dots finally merged.

Her father’s boss?

"He’s so young.." She said, the words slipping her lips which made Hendrix quite embarrassed that she thought of him too that way.

"I tend to get that often, it’s nice to finally meet you, Narika. That’s quite a rare name for a pretty girl like you,"He added, making Narika blush.

"Actually it’s a traditional name. I’m indian."she chipped in a conversation with him, clearly forgetting that her father was here too.

"That’s cool."

Mario stood aside watching the two, and he would be a hypocrite if he didn’t say that they look cute.

He wanted to give them a little bit of space, since he could literally see himself in Hendrix. He’s attracted to his child.

Although it was too early to say that now, his phone chose to go off at this time making Narika’s eyes widen in embarrassment, when she realized that her father was here all along with the both of them flirting with each other.

"I have to take this, it’s your mom." Mario smiled at the two before finally leaving the both of them.

A huge silence fell upon the both of them, on Narika’s part was mainly because of the fact that Hendrix had literally seen her at her worst.

How was she supposed to act towards the man, who had saved her from commiting suicide was her father’s boss?

Was he going to use this one little mistake of hers to taunt her life?

Oh! Stop it Narika, he’s not Adrik!

Adrik had created a room in her mind, sowing the seed of fear that everyone that was coming into her life, were just trying to use her. That they are temporary just like Zoe Wintergreen.

While on Hendrix’s part, it was nothing happiness radiating all over him that made him short of words, to finally see that Bambi was right in front of him.

With the both of them staring at themselves, unaware of the creature in their midst watching the interaction between his supposed fiance, and a whole new man that would be a problem in the future that was coming.
