"She’s going to be awake soon."

"Do you think she’s going to be fine after all these?"

After what?

"I just want my baby to be fine, thank you so much, Naomi."

Naomi?

Narika heard her mother’s voice amidst the two other unfamiliar voices that made her slowly open her eyes, to meet everyone.

By everyone?

She meant the whole family.

"M..my baby." Marya, was the first to cry out before engulfing her into a tight hug, that made her wonder what exactly was happening, since everyone had this really happy and relieved expression in their faces, which would make one suspect that something had happened.

"Mom..’’ She called, not really feeling the whole mother and daughter vibe because it’s just yesterday they saw each other, so why act as if she went on a holiday and is just coming back now?

"Yes, sweetheart. Are you okay?" Marya asked, cupping her cheeks into her hands and scanning her eyes all over her face to check if truly she was back to herself.

Two hours earlier, Naomi had walked through that door with two other men who carried her in, asleep. Truly, it wasn’t a joke when she said that the prophecy had changed and that Narika was coming back home.

In the absence of her sleeping, Naomi had gone through to explain the details about how it was difficult to separate her from Adrik. It hurt her deeply to know that she didn’t want to leave the son of a bitch, that did this to her. For crying out loud, Adrik and his father ruined their lives.

But everything is good now, Naomi, through the help of the witches council, wipes her memory of Adrik and everything she experienced after running away from home. So, it’s safe to say that she’s back to herself, she’s back to being their daughter again.

"Ofcourse, am fine, mom." She said, smiling nervously since the extra pairs of unfamiliar fazes that were watching her, made her feel bothered about them." Who are they, mom?" She whispered to her, her eyes moving back to stay on piercing green eyes that belonged to the handsome man, who for unbelievable reasons looked familiar to her, but her head was a blocked end.

She didn’t remember anything, even as she tried to remember her activities from last night to have warrant everyone behaving weirdly, it still was a block end.

Marya rubbed at her arms with a smile before looking at her mom and sister, urging them to reintroduce themselves since it’s been years since she saw them.

"Hi, sweetheart. I have been hearing a lot about you." Seline said, with a smile stepping forward to where she sat in the bed, with Rosa following behind her.

Narika looked at her mother, her eyes searching for answers from her to which she did the privilege of explaining instead of Seline." That’s your grandmother, sweetheart. She dropped by with my sister to say hello.``

Narika’s eyes widened hearing her words so she’s her grandma? Yet why does it feel like her mother’s statement wasn’t all that true?

"Hi,Am Rosa. Your Aunt. It’s nice to meet you." Rosa smiled,before looking away since it seems to her that the young girl has a lot of questions that she’s not up to answering right now.

Narika nodded her head in affirmation towards them, it felt weird being in their presence but maybe it has to do with the fact that it’s been a long time since they last saw each other."Mom, I don’t remember them arriving by yesterday, as odd as it stands i can’t remember anything i did yesterday."

"Well..." Marya tried to explain,but Naomi cut into her words since she’s having a hard time trying to cook up lies for the young lady.

"That’s because you are sick, Narika. But i assure you, you will be fine soon."

"Who is she?...the doctor?"Narika’s gaze narrowed down at her, then towards her son, before he stepped forward to introduce himself.

"I’m Hendrix Qing. I work with your father, Narika and the doctor is my mom."Hendrix didn’t like the fact that he’s reintroducing himself to her, but then it’s all for the greater good. Now that Adrik is no longer in the picture, he’s not going to be worried about making his intentions known to her.

He likes Narika, and this time he’s not planning on staying in the dark anymore about what he’s feeling toward the young lady.

"Wait, if you are his boss..." She trailed on to turn to her mother." Does that mean that Dad is back?"she asked, with this big glee in her eyes at hearing about her father.

She couldn’t wait for Marya to tell her that he’s back, before standing up from the bed." Where is he?" She asked, moving forward only to trip but Hendrix caught her before she fell.

"Narika, are you okay?" He asked, concernedly, while she looked into his eyes to see how worried he was about her. Who is this man?

The way he’s staring at her, would make one misunderstood his words, he said he’s working with her father, but then... Why did it hurt looking at him?

"Sweetheart, you shouldn’t be eager to leave the bed soon, you need to rest." Marya said, as she covered her with the bedsheets when Hendrix helped her laid back down on the bed, her gaze not leaving Hendrix’s.

"Your father went out, he will be back any moment, sweetheart until then you need to rest. Will you do that for me, sweetheart?" Marya asked, cleaning the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes.

"Don’t cry, mother. I’m fine." Narika told her, to which she smiled." I’m fine baby, I’m just happy to see you, that’s all." Marya added, making Narika’s suspicion that something was off to rise the more.

"So, I was thinking about calling Zoe, once i wake up mother. But am not with my phone, will you do that for me instead?" Narika asked, she didn’t know why Zoe wasn’t here. If she could remember, she has always been there for her whenever she’s sick but then the look on her mom’s face made her wonder what was going on here.

"Is everything okay?" She asked, looking at everyone, Rosa choosing this time to leave, scaring her further.

"Sweetheart, don’t you remember?"Marya asked, hoping that what she’s about to say won’t ruin everything they had built so far with getting her used to the changes in her life.

"Remember what, mom? What’s wrong?" Did something happen to Zoe?"

"Zoe...she’s dead, huni."
