Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 120 - One Hundred And Twenty: Someone Is Blocking My Access To Reach To Her.
Just like everyone was anxious about what the next day had in store for them. Marya was the first person to have woken up and did the same to Mario, who had no other choice but to prepare for this special day.
He didn’t want Marya to complain that he wasn’t putting any special effort, about why her mother was here and why they think that some bunch of mythical creatures were after their daughter. He still didn’t believe, just like the others and he’s sure that after today, he’s still not going to change his opinion.
Narija is in New York, and Detective Homer had sent him a text message yesterday night for him to drop by the office today, it’s obvious that he has something about their daughter but he didn’t want to tell anything to Marya, nor her family yet
"Rosa, let me have my charm bracelet." Seline called from downstairs where she was arranging her stuff. She was lighting her candles and doing a brief prayer that Mario had learned that it was a prayer to the gods, to aid her movements through the spirit realm.
"Isn’t it too early for this shit. It’s just five in the morning." Rosa complained, she rubbed her eyes sleepily before she climbed the stairs downstairs to where her mother was with the others. A lazy yawn left her lips before her eyes clocked with that of Mario’s.
"Good morning." She purred, this time it was right in Marya’s presence. She sure was stepping up on her game to ruin his family. But she would be long gone after this shit is over. Mario knew that. He would make sure of that because Rosa wouldn’t spend a day after this in his house.
"Rosa, my bracelet." Seline yelled at her, she was wasting precious time and she wanted to start this as early as possible once it’s six in the morning.
"Mother, chill. My ears." Rosa whined, holding a box in her hand before she passed it over to her who huffed at her behavior before settling down on the floor.
"Is there any other thing you need, mom?" Marya asked nervously." I don’t know...like her cloth or something t..."
"Ofcourse Marya, I would need something of hers that she treasures to do this. Although, you wouldn’t have to bother about that since you are her mother. Blood ties are really strong tracking insulators." Seline smiled at her, before clapping her hands when she was done with her work and looked up at Marya.
"I would need you to come sit in that circle over there." She told Marya, who didn’t waste any time to do as she requested. She looked over at Mario, and observed how he was trying to get used to all of this but she knew he would come through soon.
"Give me your hand." Seline demanded from her, and slightly made a cut around the base of one of her fingers. It made Marya hissed from the pain.
"You are hurting her." Mario tabled out immediately, it made Rosa burst out into laughter at how stupid he looked right now.
"Do you want me to do this or not? Because it seems you know what to do better than me, son?" Seline sassed back. She had never really liked Mario, but what would you have her do when her daughter won’t leave him even if she was dying?
"I just.." Mario paused, letting out a deep breath.
"I’m fine, Mario. This is nothing." Marya smiled at him, but he stood up from the seat he was in. Yeah, he stood up because he wanted to know what next to do to Seline, if she decides to cut off Marya’s whole finger for a bloody ritual.
A whole silence fell in the room, when Seline started her incantations. She was speaking bloody Latin with her eyes closed to which Marya did the same too. But she wasn’t speaking gibberish like her mother.
"Oh! Mother nature and the four guardian spirits to the underworld. Grant your daughter access for a safe trip, I came in peace. Show me what’s hidden from human eyes, mother nature." Seline said before chanting a song.
On the third time that she was still singing that song, the candles started shining brighter than before. It left Mario speechless because this was no magician trying to sway their way, to convince him with their little tricks.
So, he said nothing but continued to watch. Until Selina snapped her eyes open and he nearly lost his footing when his eyes connected with her bright yellow one’s, as her hands went for the bracelet on the ground while her body started to shake vigorously.
"Shhh." Rosa shushed him immediately, when it seemed that he was about to say something.
"She was robbed in New York." Seline said immediately, after her body stopped convulsing and she locked eyes with Marya and Mario. " Narina was in New York, but she was robbed and stayed in the streets..."
"My baby." Marya cried, looking at Mario who cautioned her to not start crying because that’s what was happening already.
Seline looked at a blank space in the room, she was still not talking any longer.
"What else? So, where is she right now?" Mario asked her.
"Something’s wrong." Seline spat out of the blues, making Marya’s fear rise.
" What do you mean something is wrong? You said she’s stranded in New York." Marya chipped in. She didn’t refer to the woman as her mother because she’s not her normal self.
"I can’t see her anymore. It’s like she disappeared from the faces of the earth, and neither is she in the underworld." Seline looked at Marya, who had her hand over to cover her mouth, to stop herself from crying.
" So, she just went AWOL just like that? There’s clearly something you have to do." Rosa added, since it seems that the situation was now getting serious.
"I’m try..ing." Seline said with a little bit difficulty. She looked like she was in pain and it made Rosa to sit up immediately.
"Something’s wrong." She confessed.
"Someone is blocking my access to..arrh!" Seline cried, as her head shot up while Marya went to grab her but Rosa stopped her immediately.
"No! Don’t touch her!"
"She’s.. something is happening. Rosa, she’s in pain." Marya beat at Rosa’s shoulder, and yeah her hit was painful until Mario seized her hands in his.
"You should know how to stop this, I knew this wasn’t right in the first place." Mario told Rosa, who rushed towards her room immediately and came out with another bracelet which she put on immediately.
Meanwhile, Selina screamed in pain one last time and tumbled over to fall face flat right in the circle, before the candle’s went off, as everyone sat in darkness, while being surrounded with questions that had no answers because what the hell just happened?
