Miguel’s patience was hanging on a thin line, with the way Kaiden was acting like a douchebag who needed a punch to reinstate his brain, so that he would know who he was messing with.

But he had to remind himself that his boss, Jason, has high expectations of tonight but he would happily report back to him, that the idiot, was treating his daughter like a caged mafia wife who deserved nothing but to be treated like a caged animal.

Vanessa was right.

She shouldn’t have been here tonight, and he knew that she’s angry at him for walking her out of her father’s room this evening, without helping her to talk her father out of coming here.

But keeping that aside, Miguel had promised himself that whatever she feared was the reason why she didn’t want to come here, wouldn’t happen on his watch.

That was why he kept a close eye on her, and Kaiden was acting bitchy about it but he cared less what he was thinking. His main priority was the woman who was looking at him. Her eyes screamed for help.

Vanessa and Kaiden had been acting cozy all long, that at first he understood that she’s trying to make him jealous by flirting with Kaiden. But Kaiden was the one who was too forward, but that’s bullshit! The motherfucker was trying to get into his girl’s panties.

He would only be a dead man to allow that to happen, yes! He’s going to give Vanessa an answer once they get back home, for the kiss they shared.

Miguel could swear he didn’t see that coming from her, if there’s anyone he would have thought will be the one to make the first move, that would be him. He had left her because he didn’t know how exactly to react after the kiss, she knew him though. He had no fucking feelings. But she’s doing something to him.

That was why he felt something forming at the bottom of his stomach, when he saw Kaidens hand lying possessively around her waist. The boy was nothing but a showoff. He was trying to let everyone know that Vanessa was one of his possessions.

He looked proud, and had that satisfied look on his face when one has achieved something, but Vanessa looked like she had seen a ghost, that’s why he acted out by what he did.

Even while the boy was trying to get his father to do something about him, it only proved to him that he was nothing but a daddy’s boy who couldn’t do anything without involving his father.

"It’s time to cut the cake, Son."Melody told her son, as under Miguel’s eyes Kaiden took Vanessa’s hands and walked her right up to where the cake was placed.

Everyone was gathered as the president put in a few words for his son, before the birthday song was sung and the cutting of cake was followed behind.

The real party started after this, and Kaiden was doing the most by exposing Vanessa to the eyes of everyone. That didn’t look good the moment Adrian Singh stepped into the hall.

Everyone noticed him, as he took the spotlight from Kaiden, who had a really big smile on his face at the sight of his friend. Miguel was sure to keep his eyes on Vanessa, who looked shaken when her eyes connected with the son of the man who killed her brother.

"It took you so long to be here, Adrian. I was thinking you wouldn’t make it."Kaiden said, tagging Vanessa along with him and Miguel could sense some kind of foul play between the two.

He tried to get closer but was stopped by Kaiden’s guards, who held a gun to his waist. No one was able to see what was actually happening.

"Move." The guard, who had a tattoo across his left brow said as Miguel took one last glance at Vanessa, before he was pushed forward towards the door.

"And who is this lovely lady with you?" Killa asked, trailing his eyes up to meet Vanessa’s scared form.

Yes baby girl, you should be scared.

"Actually i think you would know her, this is Vanessa Ivanov. My date." Kaiden said with a smile, as Vanessa almost gagged at him calling her his date.

Killa wanted to say something, but he refrained from doing that when one if Kaidens guards stepped up to whisper something to him.

He watched the way his eyes widened, before he turned to him and Vanessa."Excuse me, I will be right back." Kaiden said before disappearing in the crowd even before Vanessa could ask him what was wrong.

She turned to her side and didn’t see Miguel. That made her panic. She didn’t remember him telling her that he was leaving or something, and judging from the way Kaiden had left, it could only mean one thing that he had Miguel.

Vanessa grabbed the edge of her gown, and turned to leave but Killa grabbed her arm." Where did you think you are going, princess?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Let me .." Vanessa’s fear rises up when she feels a cold metal touch her back.

"I wouldn’t scream if i were you, if you want to see your pathetic guard again." Killa whispered to her, and kept his cool as people looked at him talking with Vanessa.

One wouldn’t think that there’s anything happening because Melody chose that moment to have everyone’s attention by talking about Kaiden.

"Move." Killa said in one word, as she started leaving while trying to look around just to have anyones attention.

The moment they were out, Killa grabbed her arm while walking to his car.

"You monster! What did you do to him? Let me go!" Vanessa cried, as she started to hit him but she fell to the ground, when his hands connected with her cheeks.

Killa tried to touch her, but she acted out by kicking him between his legs before running for safety into the maze, which was the nearest place her feet could take her.

She can’t afford letting him get to her, his father would kill her even before her father gets to know what’s happening. This is all about revenge and stating from how Kaiden was acting the whole time, with his relationship with Adrian.

She was forced to believe that she had been set up.

"Miguel." She called for him, while running through the maze in hope of finding an escape through these walls. Only to end up lost, but not without hearing a gunshot go off before hearing Adrian shout for her.

"I guess we are playing hide and seek, baby girl. But don’t worry, I am going to find you, and when i do. You are dead."
