He followed her gaze—and froze.

Standing beside him was Yin Fei, the very same young woman from the Dual Cultivation clan he had just left moments ago. Her elegant features were calm, composed… and her delicate hand was resting lightly against his arm, as if she had always been there. freewebnσvel.cѳm

His pupils contracted.

'How…?' he thought, cold realization seeping in.

Had he brought her here? Why would he—?

His mind strained, but his cultivation was too profound to be so easily clouded. Willing his memory to the surface, he recalled it clearly now: she had asked to accompany him. When he declined, she had begun to undress right in front of him—an act he halted immediately. To avoid further provocation, he agreed to bring her. She smiled, thanked him…

And then—he remembered nothing after that.

Somehow, she had made him forget. That ability alone spoke volumes.

'This girl… she's dangerous.'

His gaze flicked to her subtly, expression unreadable. Yin Fei looked up at him and smiled sweetly, innocently.

"So," she said softly, "is this the granddaughter you spoke of? She's lovely. Truly."

"Yes…" he replied slowly, turning back to Luo Yue. "Yue'r, are you ready?"

Luo Yue opened her eyes and immediately noticed the unfamiliar girl standing beside her grandfather. It only took a glance. The aura, the presence, the subtle flicker of violet in her eyes the moment their eyes met, and her stunningly beautiful appearance—undeniable.

A Dual Cultivator.

Luo Yue eventually turned her attention away from the girl and looked back at her grandfather before replying firmly with a hidden meaning.

"We're ready."

Luo Yue followed close behind her grandfather and Yin Fei as they walked, their conversation mostly drifting into topics she cared little about—mundane matters, political undercurrents, and occasional references to clan dynamics. Still, she kept her ears open, wary of the ever-enigmatic girl walking beside her grandfather.

When they reached the great gates leading into the Inner Court, a pair of guards stepped forward to block their path.

"You two—state your business in the Inner Court."

"They're with me," Yin Fei answered coolly.

"I can see that, Young Miss," one of the guards replied with a smirk. "But that wasn't my question. If you were a bit more… cooperative, maybe we'd turn a blind eye."

Yin Fei tilted her head slightly, a soft, innocent smile curling her lips. "Would you really do that… for me?"

The air shifted subtly. A faint floral scent spread unnaturally through the air—illusory, dreamlike. The atmosphere grew lighter, hazy, and intoxicating.

"Would you really turn a blind eye… for me?" she repeated, her voice now carrying an almost hypnotic tone.

Her robe slipped slightly off one shoulder, revealing the upper swell of her flawless, pale tits. The guards' gazes dropped, entranced. Their minds dulled.

Her eyes flashed violet.

"Would you really gouge out your eyes for me?" she asked, her tone deceptively sweet.

The guards nodded, not fully registering the words, their hands slowly rising toward their faces.

"Give them to me," Yin Fei whispered, stretching out one soft, open palm. With the other, she clutched her hanging robe demurely. "And I'll give you whatever you desire."

Luo Yue felt a cold shiver crawl down her spine. Her grandfather stiffened beside her. In that moment, they both understood.

This girl wasn't just dangerous. She was a demon.

The guards were entirely under her spell, driven not by logic but by carnal madness. And worst of all, neither Luo Yue nor her grandfather could speak to stop it—not out of helplessness, but from sheer fear of offending her.

Then—snap.

A blur of motion appeared behind the entranced guards. A female guard struck both of them in the back of the neck in a single fluid motion, knocking them unconscious. Her movements were sharp, her presence unshakable. Judging by her aura, her body cultivation far exceeded the two she just dropped.

"I told you not to play your little mind games around here, you damn brat," the woman scolded flatly.

Yin Fei smirked. "Maybe if your subordinates knew how to speak to a lady, I wouldn't have to. Or perhaps…" Her eyes glinted again. "As their superior, maybe you should be punished in their place."

Suddenly, a massive canine beast the size of a small horse leapt toward Yin Fei from behind the female guard—only to be halted mid-air by a chain connected to its thick collar, which the guard held effortlessly in one hand.

Yin Fei stepped back, her tone cooling. "Control your pet before I slit its throat."

"Control your attitude," the woman replied without blinking, "or else my hand might slip," she pronounced every syllable slowly and threateningly, as her demon pet leaned in dangerously close.

Her gaze was cold and unshakeable. She was not to be messed with, and it didn't take a genius to understand that.

The two locked eyes in silence, but it was Yin Fei who looked away first.

Turning to Luo Yue and her grandfather, the female guard asked, "Clan?"

"Soul Devouring," the Elder replied.

"First time entering the Inner Court as guests?"

"Not for me," he said, "but it is for my granddaughter."

The guard pulled out two spirit stones with a strange etched symbol at their center. "Flow your Qi into these until the pattern glows green."

Both did as instructed, then handed them back.

The guard inspected them and nodded. "Good. You have two weeks. I recommend leaving long before that. When time's up, the scent of your Qi will be released into the environment. And the Inner Court's demon pets—thousands of them—will start hunting you. Trust me, you don't want to be here when that happens."

"Thousands?" Luo Yue frowned, glancing at the snarling beast beside the guard.

"Thank you," her grandfather said politely.

Hoisting the unconscious guards onto her shoulder, the woman called up toward the gate. A few guards above peeked down, then burst into laughter at the sight of their knocked-out comrades and opened the gates without question.

As the ancient gates creaked open, Luo Yue stared ahead, a nervous energy coiling in her gut.

"The Inner Court…" she whispered under her breath.

Deep inside her Soul Sea, Xiao Fang, watching silently through her eyes, felt the same tension coil within his being.

"We've made it."
