Chapter 653: Chapter 270: Sun Knight, Leo

Golden light flashed and sparkled continuously in the high sky.

Clad in knight armor, Wayne was held by the blonde big sister as they hurried along, continuously teleporting in flashes of light, attempting to analyze the formula and master this move.

The Valkyrie’s teleportation distance was not long, similar to the short-distance portals created by the Undead Warhorse Yuliya, suited for battlefields but not for long-distance raids.

"Wayne, you shouldn’t have said those things to Vili,"

the Valkyrie lamented, "She’s falling deeper, and it will be hard for her to leave you now."

That’s exactly the effect I wanted!

Wayne felt no guilt, using his life to woo girls, advancing the progress bar with his abilities—why should he feel guilty?

Seeing Wayne remain silent, the Valkyrie found herself lacking a solution. After some thought, she said, "You have already learned my swordsmanship, if there’s a chance in the future, I will offer a course on the spirit of knighthood, and I hope you will study well."

The so-called spirit of knighthood represents the eight virtuous qualities of a knight’s noble character: humility, honor, sacrifice, courage, mercy, honesty, justice, and spirituality.

Those who understand, understand; those who don’t can grasp the meaning just from the words.

Just to explain ’spirituality’, it refers to the knight’s own spirit, including reverence for the divine, zeal for contributing to one’s faith, as well as the ability to comprehend Divine Decree.

Wayne knew what the Valkyrie was thinking. He had become a reserve Sun Knight, qualified to take up the banner of the chosen one. However, his sense of justice was too subtle and did not resemble that of a qualified knight.

He needed to make up classes, to properly learn what it meant to be a knight.

"Teacher, I understand the principles, but think about it carefully, among the virtues of a knight, none of them specifically dictate that a knight must be single or can only have one girlfriend." Wayne recounted each of the eight virtues, and found no trace of abstinence among them.

From another perspective, his involvement with multiple women could be seen as a display of sacrifice, courage, mercy, and justice.

Plus, his transparent indulgence, having forthrightly informed the trio of close female friends, is considered honest, adding another virtue to his persona. As a knight, he already excelled.

The Valkyrie was left speechless by his argument, wondering where Wayne bought his dictionary that was filled with such twisted logic.

Moments later, the pair sped from the plains to the peak of the Black Mountain Range, where high above they took in the eerie spectacle below.

The dark mountain peaks, cut as though by a knife and axe, steep and tough, split the howling wind, producing the thunderous roar of a tidal wave.

From the center of the Black Mountain Range, the abyssal maw devoured all the surrounding light.

Enormous tentacles emerged from the abyss, appearing from afar like ancient tree trunks covered in uneven wrinkles and suckers, glinting with a cold, ghastly light.

These tentacles danced wildly within the abyss, sometimes entwining, sometimes stretching outward, and with each movement, the dark abyss was infused with different meanings.

As deep, ancient roars spread, the black mountain peaks subtly trembled in response, disseminating chaotic and highly contaminating noise in all directions.

Wayne estimated that each tentacle extending from the Dark Abyss was enormously huge, the shortest being five hundred meters and the longest surpassing a thousand. Facing such a monster only instilled a sense of insignificance and helplessness.

If Torgoguryr hasn’t awakened yet and it’s already this big, wouldn’t it reach the heavens once it breaks the seal!

The threatening whispers of the Black Mountain Range weighed heavily on Wayne, buzzing annoyingly like a swarm of flies. Although they were not physically harmful, they irritated him to the point where he wished he could physically confront them and argue.

This isn’t right, listen to me!

The Valkyrie sensed the location of the light and dove down as a streak of light, her knight armor reassembling on the ground, shielding a monstrous figure in its path.

Kushin!

At this moment, Kushin had mutated again due to his proximity to Torgoguryr. Standing upright at five meters tall, his body enlarged all over, his eyes, clear black and white, bloodshot and terrifying.

Seeing Wayne appear, Kushin opened his mouth at the fluffy spot beneath his eyeballs and let out a meaningless growl.

Like a beast driving away enemies, his thought process was in sync with the chaotic state of Torgoguryr. The faint sunlight preserved his last bit of sanity, as he hurried to the abyss to reinforce the seal.

This was Kushin’s task, one he had never forgotten in sixteen years.

"I’m sorry, you’re beyond saving now, forgive me for taking away your faith."

Watching the still-restrained tentacles, Wayne didn’t hesitate, taking a step to collide with Kushin’s body.

The instant they touched, Wayne cast aside his knight armor and turned into a foam that surged into Kushin’s monstrous body.

Physical transformation!

Mind reshaping!

Kushin howled in agony, and suddenly, pure sunlight blossomed from the heart of a tentacle.

The knight’s power held fast to the last vestiges of the will, but it couldn’t withstand the foam’s dreadful polluting capability, and the brightness soon dimmed.

In the painful rending of body and mind, Kushin heard a voice constantly admonishing him, reminding him of his human form.

He must remember, never to forget.

Moments later, the foam wriggled out and crept into the knight armor, gradually taking on the shape of Wayne.

Kushin’s monstrous body was disassembled and reassembled into a bald, muscular man over 1.9 meters tall, standing there panting hard. His muscles, clearly defined, perfectly combined strength and beauty, his body releasing waves of heat, the quintessential build of a Sun Goddess Devotee.

Based on his face alone, with its firm and deep features, Kushin should have been a rather handsome guy. But due to excessive bodybuilding, his personal charm skewed off course, and now he could only attract the gaze of the same sex.

Kushin, sweating profusely, looked at his shaky hands. The process of rebirth was not a joyful one, and the aftermath was even less so.
