Chapter 649: Chapter 268 Yellow Clothes, Tentacles_3

"The plan went very smoothly, I’ve successfully infiltrated the enemy’s ranks..."

"You two should leave first, don’t get swallowed by the Golden City, I’ll be there shortly."

Wayne’s telepathic message was intermittent, leaving Verily puzzled; this was her first time witnessing such a method of infiltration. By all logic, it seemed as if he had been devoured.

The Valkyrie hesitated briefly, took Verily’s hands in hers, and raised the Knight’s Sword above her head, where a brilliant light burst forth at the center of the Golden City.

Boom!

A devastating pillar of golden light erupted, searing the air as it pierced the heavens upwards and the Black Bird’s Nest below.

With the Armor at its center, the light spread across the land, forming a gorgeous and intricate Sun totem. Wherever the light went, burning waves of intense heat annihilated everything, turning hordes of monsters to ashes.

The continuous screams were shrill and harsh, shaking the body of the Armor.

Verily turned pale, blood trickling from her nostrils, feeling as if her head had been struck by a massive hammer. Exhaustion weighed down her entire body, and all she wanted was to collapse into sleep.

She let out a low shout, her eyes emitting golden light as her body glowed like a mini sun. With the amplification of the Armor, she fanned the flames, momentarily pushing the might of Faith Magic to its peak.

Flames ignited at the center of the Golden City, the torch blazed fiercely, causing the entire Bird’s Nest to tremble and convulse.

The Venus flytraps’ engulfing motion suddenly accelerated!

At the same moment, the Priest Leader raised an arm, and his Yellow Robe began to stir without wind, channeling the telekinetic energy of thirty thousand monsters into himself, and releasing it suddenly at Verily.

Booming sounds filled the air!!

The telekinetic force imprisoned space itself, cutting off all of Verily’s escape routes, not only pinning the Armor to the spot but also locking the high-temperature flames in place.

Time seemed to have been paused, as flames hung motionless, strands of fire suspended in the air.

Crack!

As the Priest Leader’s tentacles tightened, the space around Verily’s location shattered like glass.

The mini sun collapsed, the Armor splintered, and Verily’s body fragmented.

Whoosh!

Gold specks scattered, reassembling above the plaza.

Verily, heart still racing, looked down at the Priest Leader and gripped the Knight’s Sword, ready to unleash another blow.

"Golden City is alive; this place is not suitable for fighting. Let’s get out first."

The Valkyrie took Verily’s hands, guiding her to transform into sunlight and break free from the Bird’s Nest, while the latter looked at the slowly closing Venus flytraps and anxiously asked, "Teacher, is Wayne really alright?"

"He should be fine; his body and thinking are very peculiar..."

The Valkyrie didn’t know how else to describe it. She had been frightened by Wayne’s bizarre appearance when she first saw him. Despite the oddity, his potential was undeniable. He had stood his ground against the indiscriminate attacks of an Ancient God.

If the Ancient God couldn’t affect Wayne, the Priest Leader below stood even less of a chance.

Booming sounds!

The Bird’s Nest underwent a transformation, shrinking into a solid orb over a kilometer in diameter.

Eight thick black tentacles reached out, turning into legs to support the Nest, allowing the massive black tumor to break free from the Black Mountain Range. At the top of the orb, a black rift opened, revealing a distorted, human-like face from which hundreds of tentacles emerged from what seemed to be a mouth and eye sockets.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Bird’s Nest moved forward, waving its tentacles to release telekinetic blasts, pummeling Verily into golden shards once again.

The Valkyrie didn’t counterattack but instead redeployed a kite-flying tactic after reassembly, leading the Bird’s Nest away from the Black Mountain Range and toward the distant plains.

The earth thudded, and the black behemoth advanced, dripping thick liquid along the way, with the cold wind spreading a nauseating stench.

...

"Where is this?"

Wayne’s view was engulfed in darkness, his surroundings a squirming mass of black rot whispering nonsense that made no sense to him.

Monsters don’t understand the sorrows and joys of other monsters—a profound statement by the Bird’s Nest, which to Wayne’s ears was nothing but a cacophony.

Being emotionally disconnected ≠ refusing physical connection.

After merging with The Book of Greed, Wayne’s body stretched to three meters tall, a giant eye opened on his chest, and with a loud shout, he interrupted the endless murmuring whispers. Once the area quieted down, he began to expound his grand principles.

Wubba lubba dub dub!

It was all just gibberish, but Wayne’s booming voice overpowered the surrounding noise. Wherever his tentacles passed, the black rotten flesh turned white, and the virus spread rapidly like wildfire.

The Black Bird’s Nest struggled violently, with dark undercurrents surging within. It screeched, attempting to expel the mutated area from its body.

The excessive movement only accelerated the virus’s spread, the foam of infection moved in, swallowing up patches in waves of contamination...

At the center, Wayne looked for the Priest Chief’s location, forcing him to show himself by spreading the virus.

If it were just about combat power, without borrowing the Knight’s strength, it would be difficult for him to overcome the telekinetic barrier of the opponent. But when it came to being weird, he could beat his chest and confidently say—my "style" is above yours.

Two minutes later, a quarter of the Black Bird’s Nest had fallen, and the heart of the Golden City, the Priest Chief had no choice but to appear and negotiate with Wayne.

A black and a white tentacle stretched out, entwining and exchanging information.

Priest Chief: We’re on the same side, it’s a misunderstanding, how about we just forget it?

Wayne: Who’s on your side? What are you worth? Are you even worthy?

Priest Chief: Leave this place. Do not disturb the awakening of Torgoguryr, or else you will never leave.

Wayne: Hand over the Sun Knight’s power and your body as well, or else the entire Golden City will become like me.

The logic in the conversation between the two monsters was chaotic. One second they were trying to establish hierarchy and gangland status, and the next second they jumped into hurling tough words, both spewing verbal arsenal.

While communicating with the opposite party, Wayne increased his output, realizing that the more territory he conquered, the faster the erosion proceeded.

He guessed that Golden City and the creatures living within it had a symbiotic relationship; weakening one side would also diminish the power of the other.

Under such a circumstance, there was no room for discussion—just swallow it all, and it would be over.

The Priest Chief’s telekinetic power rapidly weakened. It went from rendering Wayne helpless in the beginning, chasing after Valkyrie across the field, to now being unable to do anything to Wayne. The huge black sphere lay prostrate, its eight thick tentacles listless.

Moreover, the voice of the Priest Chief gradually fell silent, as if he were dying, agreeing to hand over the power of the Sun Knight, as well as the human body he inhabited.

As a condition for the exchange, Wayne would leave immediately, returning the freedom of the Black Bird’s Nest.

Wayne could refuse. The cost would be the destruction of the human body and the Sun Knight’s power sinking into the Black Mountain Range.

"Deal!"

"..."

"Don’t worry, I’m famously trustworthy; you can go and ask around, I definitely won’t cheat you," Wayne increased the eroding force once again.

With no other choice, the Priest Chief handed over the inhabited body.

At the edge of the black and white, a black lump of flesh was spat out, and Wayne curled his tentacle to receive it, thinking to himself that he accomplished the mission and rescued Vee’s father.

The dark monster, indistinguishable from Nate, didn’t bother Wayne. In the entire Golden City except for the Priest Chief, they all shared this look, and he had ways to help the other return to his original appearance.

However, there might be some minor flaws in the body after the procedure.

It wasn’t a big issue; life was more important. Wayne believed Vee would forgive him.

Wayne extended his hand into the monster’s body, polluting its path of evolution and then reversing the process, restoring it to a human appearance.

A brand-new body appeared.

Long legs, a slender waist, prominent curves, a Dark Elf with black hair hanging down floating quietly in the midst of the foam.

Who the heck are you?

Wayne: (¬_¬)

Vee, what’s the deal with your dad? You didn’t mention he was a sizzling dark beauty.

Wait, this is clearly a hot dark-skinned Glamor Lady!
