Chapter 286: They’d been wiped out?

"I get it now..."

A sudden flash of realization lit up in Ethan’s eyes.

So that’s what it was—Order Dragon Asha and Chaos Dragon Urghash, the two ultimate bosses in the world of Glory Lords X. They represented the two extremes: Asha stood for order and light, while Urghash embodied chaos and madness.

That fundamental opposition had given rise to the two massive warring factions in the game world.

The Light Alliance and the Dark Alliance.

But overall, it seemed like Order Dragon Asha held the upper hand. From the looks of it, even the neutral factions could tap into Asha’s power.

Only the Dark Alliance was left out.

"But even though this fragment of Order Dragon Asha’s power (Grade B) isn’t exactly a good fit for us, My Lord, you could still use it as a bargaining chip," Auremax suddenly chimed in.

"A trade?" Ethan blinked, then his eyes lit up.

Of course.

This thing could totally be used for a trade or exchange.

"From what I know, this fragment of Order Dragon Asha’s power (Grade B) contains the Primordial Force of a Crimson Ultimate Hero. That kind of thing has serious value in a lot of powerful nations and faction alliances..."

"My Lord, don’t you have a connection with that Wisdom Angel from the Castle faction? Maybe you could ask him about it," Auremax suggested.

"Wisdom Angel... you mean Cain?" Ethan’s gaze sharpened, thoughts already forming in his mind. His sea expedition was basically wrapped up now, and with the situation in Sylvanwood getting more intense, it might be time to head back.

But just then, Balthazar suddenly stepped forward.

He looked Ethan dead in the eye and said in a grave tone, "My Lord, one of the reasons I came here was to ask you to return and take command. You might not have heard yet, but not long ago, Thalor’s Kingdom of the Elementals... was destroyed."

"What?" Ethan’s expression changed instantly. He stared hard at Balthazar. "It’s gotten that bad?"

Aside from their own Emerald Castle, the four major powers surrounding Sylvanwood—north, south, east, and west—had always been a delicate balance. And among them, Thalor, the Kingdom of the Elementals to the east, had always been the strongest overall.

And now? They’d been wiped out?

How long had it even been?

That could only mean one thing—the war in Sylvanwood was way worse than he’d imagined.

If that’s really the case...

Then yeah, he had no choice—he needed to head back immediately.

"My Lord, while the allied forces are decent, they’re nowhere near strong enough to match the Dungeon army," Balthazar said, his tone grim.

"To be honest, the Dungeon side hasn’t even been fighting seriously until now."

"They’ve just been acting independently—no unified command, no real strategy to conquer territory. It was all just destruction and slaughter for its own sake... That’s the only reason we’ve been able to hold out this long and catch our breath."

"But everything changed recently. One of the Dungeon Kings showed up in person."

"He led the Dungeon army himself in the assault on the Kingdom of the Elementals. And get this—he didn’t even lift a finger. In less than half a day, the entire kingdom was wiped out. It wasn’t even a fair fight," Balthazar said, shaking his head, his expression dark.

Ethan fell silent, eyes narrowing as he processed the news.

"And after that? The Kingdom of the Elementals is gone—what about Thalor?" he asked.

"The Dungeon army completely leveled the King’s City, shattered the Castle Heart. Without the Castle Heart’s power, everything fell apart. Thalor died with it—permanently. No chance of resurrection," Balthazar replied, shaking his head again.

Ethan felt a heavy weight settle in his chest. He asked again, "What about Vaelion? And the Archmage? How are they responding?"

"The alliance’s unity? It’s gone," Balthazar said with a sigh. "Vaelion’s already pulling out of Sylvanwood, retreating toward AvLee. Looks like someone’s helping him escape. As for Archmage Eldrin, he’s got nowhere to run. He wants to join us, but he’s not willing to give up his northern Castle..."

"So yeah, he’s still hesitating."

Ethan shook his head at that, then said firmly, "Next, I’m going to have Stellamaris Kingdom declare war on Crimsonstar Kingdom and take that territory."

"Cicero, you’ll stay here with Lilith and Kyros. I’m putting this entire operation in your hands. I’ll also leave you with nearly fifty 14-Tier Sacred Kirin. With that kind of force, can you take Crimsonstar Kingdom?"

As he spoke, Ethan turned to look at Cicero.

"No problem!" Cicero answered without hesitation, nodding confidently. "My honored master, leave it to me. I’ll carry out your will and conquer Crimsonstar Kingdom in the shortest time possible!"

He was already level 44 now—

And not just any level 44, but a B-rank Crimson Ultimate Hero at that.

At this point, a mere kingdom wasn’t even worth worrying about.

After a brief pause, he looked back at Ethan.

"Master, maybe you should take the Kirin with you. They’re ocean-based units, sure, but they’re still 14-Tier. With the situation in Sylvanwood being what it is, having them with you would ease the pressure a lot."

Ethan blinked at that, then chuckled and shook his head. "Don’t worry. I’ve got other cards to play. And your mission here is just as important. The sooner you take Crimsonstar Kingdom, the sooner we’ll have a fallback option if things go south."

"I understand..."

Cicero’s eyes gleamed with resolve as he nodded firmly.

Just then, a string of system notifications rang in Ethan’s ears.
