Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 282: Godslayer
Chapter 282: Godslayer
"Here we go again..."
Ethan frowned, his gaze snapping toward the space that was beginning to warp and twist unnaturally.
He had a hunch about what was coming.
But he needed confirmation.
"Woooooo... Woooooo..."
That guttural, beastly wail echoed once more—the unmistakable roar of the Leviathan hero. And sure enough, that massive, grotesque body reappeared before them, rising like a nightmare from the depths.
Ethan’s pupils narrowed slightly. He let out a dry, almost amused sigh.
"Just as I thought..."
"So once his level drops to 55, it doesn’t go any lower... Is this some kind of post-awakening power safeguard?"
[Thal’Zar]
Level: 55
Race: Leviathan
Tier: Crimson Ultimate Hero
Class: Leviathan Sea Sage
Tier: 13
Attack: ???
Before he died, Thal’Zar had been level 55. And now, even after being killed, he was still level 55. Which meant—he hadn’t lost a single level from that last death.
Ethan didn’t know exactly why that was, but at least now he understood what Thal’Zar was trying to do. If escaping the Soulbind Shackles only cost him two levels...
Then yeah, that was a trade worth making.
Thinking that, Ethan pressed his lips together, then said calmly:
"Take him down."
And just like that, the familiar scene of a brutal group assault played out once more.
It didn’t take long—Thal’Zar was killed three times in quick succession.
Ding!
"Player Valkarion, please note: your enemy, Leviathan Hero Thal’Zar, has died three times in a row. Escape condition met!"
Ding!
"Player Valkarion, please note: your enemy, Leviathan Hero Thal’Zar, has chosen to end the battle and leave the special space!"
...
RUMMMMMMBLE...
The Soulbind Shackles shattered in an instant, the special dimension collapsing like glass under pressure. The scenery around them warped and shifted, and suddenly they were back—adrift on the stormy, pitch-black sea, waves crashing like mountains, wind howling like banshees.
But this time, Seraphina, Cicero, and the others didn’t even seem to gain any experience.
No one leveled up.
BOOM!
THUD!
...
Then, from the depths of the ocean, a terrifying pulse surged upward. At the same time, two enormous, blood-red eyes opened beneath the sea floor, glowing with malevolent light.
Those eyes stared up at them from the abyss, radiating a suffocating pressure.
Everyone’s expression turned grim.
They all recognized those eyes.
They belonged to Thal’Zar—the Leviathan Hero.
"I’ll remember you..."
"The next time we meet, I’ll make you pay."
A cold, echoing voice drifted up from the deep.
Then, slowly, those blood-red eyes faded into the darkness.
"...So he can talk, huh?" Ethan muttered, staring out at the raging sea.
Then he smirked, confidence flashing in his eyes. "Next time? I doubt you’ll even be a challenge by then. If you’re dumb enough to come looking for death, Emerald Castle will be happy to oblige."
And just then, a flurry of system notifications chimed in his ears.
Ding!

When Ethan saw the full list of system notifications, he just stood there, stunned.
"Holy shit... this Godslayer title is nuts," he muttered, his jaw hanging open slightly. He immediately pulled up his character profile, and there it was—glowing in a brilliant, shifting rainbow in the title slot: Godslayer (Beginner Tier).
For a few seconds, he just stared at it, completely dazed. Then a slow grin spread across his face, wide and wild.
His heart was pounding like a war drum.
He’d only just unlocked the title, but he already knew—this thing was beyond valuable.
No question about it. This wasn’t just rare—it was game-breaking.
Hell, just eyeballing the stats, he figured it could boost his current power by at least 30, maybe even 40 percent. That kind of jump? That was on par with some of the lower-end Tier 4 Magic spells.
And that was just the starting point.
Not the limit.
Because the Godslayer title didn’t give flat bonuses—it scaled. All the damage boosts were percentage-based. Which meant the stronger he got, the more insane the title’s effects would become.
That was the real kicker.
"That’s what I’m talking about... First Kill rewards never disappoint," Ethan said, practically vibrating with excitement. "This is a straight-up jackpot."
He couldn’t stop grinning. With the Godslayer buffs stacked on top of everything else he’d earned, he was starting to feel like SSS-rank Orange Legendary Hero status wasn’t just a dream anymore—it was within reach.
He whispered it to himself, like he was afraid saying it out loud might jinx it.
At this point, Ethan felt like he’d finally cracked the code of Glory Lords X.
Forget regular units. Even Legendary and Mythic Units had their limits.
The real powerhouses?
Hero Units.
And not just any Heroes—only the top-tier, high-rank ones really mattered.
Whether a faction is at its peak or on the brink of collapse, one thing never changes—only Hero Units can truly carry the weight.
In times of prosperity, Hero Units are the cornerstone of a kingdom’s strength. In times of decline, they’re the last hope—the trump card that can turn the tide.
That’s why Ethan had come to a clear realization: Hero Units—especially high-tier ones—were worth more than any regular troop, no matter how elite.
And once he understood that, everything he did—every plan, every move—was ultimately aimed at one thing: making his Hero Units stronger.
That applied not just to himself, but also to Seraphina, Kyros, Cicero... all of them.
Right now, he was an S-rank Orange Legendary Hero. But if he could break through to SSS-rank?
That would be the ultimate reward.
After all, an SSS-rank Orange Legendary Hero was the absolute peak—just one step below a Crimson Ultimate Hero.
And once he reached that level...
Then Ethan would finally be qualified to chase after the Crimson Ultimate rank himself. To begin walking the path toward godhood.
At that point, it wouldn’t just be a reward anymore.
It would be a symbol.
A symbol of evolution—from mortal, to demigod, to full-fledged deity.
And that kind of value? You couldn’t even begin to measure it.
After the rush of excitement and adrenaline faded, Ethan turned his attention back to the rest of the rewards.
"Three million Light Alliance rep, five hundred thousand Main World rep, three hundred million gold, ten thousand units of each core resource, a thousand random special resources, and thirty Tier 14 Mythic Units—either chosen or random..."
He rubbed his chin, deep in thought.
"So... what should I pick for the Mythic Units this time? Should I go with the Sacred Kirin again?"
The rewards were so generous, they were almost a problem.
Right now, his Tier 14 Mythic Units were mostly split between two types: the Ancient Behemoth and the Sacred Kirin.
He only had three Ancient Behemoths.
But Sacred Kirins? Nearly twenty.
If he were choosing between just those two, the answer was obvious.
No hesitation—he’d go with the Kirins.
Add thirty more to the twenty he already had, and that’d give him close to fifty Tier 14 Sacred Kirins. Under Kyros’s command, that kind of force could absolutely dominate the entire sea region.
But then again...
Wouldn’t that leave his land forces a little too weak?
Right now, Emerald Castle’s two strongest Hero Units were, without question, Seraphina and Cicero. But both of them had the same awkward problem:
No troops.
They were basically powerful generals with no armies to lead.
Sure, Emerald Castle still had a few Tier 13 Legendary Green Dragons lying around. Under normal circumstances, they could hold the line and look impressive enough.
But that was just for show.
When it came down to real war—when it was all or nothing—Tier 13 Legendary Units just couldn’t compare to Tier 14 Mythic Units.
A true Crimson Ultimate Hero needed an army of Mythic Units at their back. That’s when their full power could be unleashed. That’s when they became terrifying.
And here was the other issue...
Emerald Castle had always been a land-based faction. But now, all of its top-tier units were Sacred Kirins—beasts of the sea and sky.
That was a problem.
If things kept going this way...
Wouldn’t that imbalance come back to bite them later?
