Chapter 74: A light chuckle

The three lightning snakes...

As the first clash between Anon and Felix ensued, the shockwave created from that confrontation completely dispersed their bodies into remnant energies that swirled through the lake waters.

In fact, said shockwave, taking physical form as the lake water, was so powerful that it saw the rest of the group being uncontrollably picked up by the water’s flow.

And yet, the confrontation between Anon and Felix was stuck in a strange stalemate.

As Felix’s heel met with Anon’s staff, the latter’s staff bent unnaturally under the force that Felix’s heel descended with. Yet, it did not snap, and instead, the two were seemingly frozen at the bottom of the lake, stuck in a state of confrontation.

Anon’s staff and Felix’s heel pressed against each other, neither releasing even the slightest tension.

The shockwave that spread out from their collision was only at its earliest stage.

The duo’s first confrontation was yet to be completed.

Like this, one second passed, two, and then three.

Finally,

It was quite sudden, cracking sounds.

These sounds rippled in the vicinity, in the form of small ripples in the nearby waters.

It was the sound of something finally giving out due to the tension constantly exerted by both Anon and Felix.

Anon’s staff, bending unnaturally, was still a divine weapon, made up of cosmic dust. And adding to that fact, he was an entity of the second world.

On the other hand, Felix, though his principle allowed him to bend logic, he was still a member of the first. These cracking sounds, indeed, his shin bone had given way.

The first confrontation finally ended as Anon’s staff, previously stuck in a stalemate, made ground, rushing upwards.

From this force, Felix’s right leg was pushed away, and before he had a chance to react, the dull sound of a blunt object smacking flesh, intensified greatly, spread out, sending an even more powerful shockwave into the surroundings.

Anon’s staff crashed into Felix’s chest, resulting in the latter’s body embarking on an explosive charge upwards.

The force behind Anon’s staff seemingly embraced Felix’s fleshy form and rocketed towards the surface of the lake hundreds and thousands of feet above.

Felix’s chest had caved in as blood seeped from his lips, trickled down his nose, and even dripped from Anon’s staff.

Speaking of Anon, he stood, well, floated in a standing position, almost as if there was a solid grounding beneath his feet as his body slowly sunk deeper into the lake.

His staff rested across his shoulders whilst he glanced below him, at Seth who was nestled on the lake’s bed, unaffected by the aftereffects and shockwaves of the previous confrontation.

Clicking his tongue, Anon’s eyes then turned to the near vicinity, no, his vision encompassed far into the surroundings, in random areas where he could perceive the unconscious bodies of the other members of this group as they slowly rose to the lake’s surface.

’That previous clash did indeed touch the boundaries of the second world.’ Anon pondered, ’As first world fighters, they were too close to the shockwaves, but still, Felix is of the first world, right?’

Thinking this, he assessed deeply, his brain working on overtime, ’So, after suffering injuries against the flesh ripping ants, and then against the lightning snakes, his strength skyrocketed on both occasions. But, while he only grew two or so feet back with the ants, with the serpents, he grew four more feet, thereafter, losing his mind.’

’At that time, he didn’t attack me though?’ Anon’s eyes flashed with a cold light, ’Is it because the six lightning snakes were closing in on him, and Seth just happened to be present?’ He clicked his tongue in wonder as he glanced at the red-eyed boy below him.

’But he got rid of those serpents quite quickly, in fact, he went after Seth even after the other serpents had died,’ Anon’s golden amber eyes shone as he hypothesized, ’Is it possible that in the crazed state, he also saw Seth as a beast?’

Towards Seth, Anon believed almost anything.

If someone of knowledge spoke, and the contents went something like; Seth was in fact, a beast taking human form... Anon would believe it fully.

A being of mysterious origin, daring to stand against his father, with three principles in his grasp, indeed, it was almost hard for him to believe that Seth was even human.

But currently, he didn’t have the luxury of thinking too deeply about this.

Though Anon was quite relaxed, Felix had regrasped control over his body, ridding the force that encompassed him and attempted to carry him towards the lake’s surface.

Staring towards Anon with a pair of fully white eyes, the twelve feet titan had grown once more. Although he grew more powerful, his wounds did not heal, so though his situation got "better", it also appeared worse.

The thirteen foot monstrosity taking human skin maneuvered through the water in a rowdy manner, but Anon’s sinking body had finally touched the bottom of the lake.

And amid this descent to the lake’s bed, he glanced at the other four members of his group. Of which, none were conscious, nor aware, bringing a smile to his face.

His amber gold eyes always had a divine shimmer to them, one of hypnotic charm.

However, as he walked atop the lake’s bed, towards Seth who sat upright, his amber eyes sparkle with an unprecedented shine, one seemingly capable of embracing the entire world.

Due to Felix’s movements, the waters were not calm, and yet, Anon was unaffected, twirling the staff in his hand as it gleamed with stellar radiance of multiple colors.

’With the others unconscious,’ Anon mused inwardly, ’It leaves only a dumb Felix, and Seth.’

What he was thinking was quite simple.

To reveal, or not.

The second world was much different from the first.

’As first world fighters, especially after being nurtured by the academy for a month, they’ve learnt to manipulate their principles to much higher degrees,’ Anon thought.

Look at Andrew for example.

What he could achieve, and the abilities that he could utilize, naturally when comparing himself from his time in military zone #91, it was almost as if he was another person.

Although the camp of ten thousand went on for three months, much more than the single month in the military academy, the military academy was designed for stellar fighters and improved their ability.

On the other hand, the camp was designed to nurture geniuses into becoming stellar fighters.

Using such logic, Anon’s versatility and ability to manipulate his principle would’ve also undergone a great transformation.

That is, only if his principle wasn’t misidentified.

Whilst he was a second world stellar fighter with a grace-related principle in the academy’s eyes, his principle was much more complex.

Utilizing Inevitable End needed much more skill than the average grace-related principle.

Without an instructor or two helping him, it should be expected that he wasn’t as versatile as the other students.

Only, he did have an instructor.

One with the exact same principle as his, something that defied an absolute law.

’Though father had directed me using tales of his journey, it really is thanks to my talent that I’m capable of utilizing Inevitable End to this degree.’ Anon assessed bluntly.

Stellar cosmic energies churned above his head as the surroundings encompassing his body grew blurred.

"Cursed Ground."

The sand beneath Anon’s feet was blown away. In fact, there a crater slowly took shape, originating from where he stood, the small sink slowly began growing, causing Seth to frown.

Squinting his eyes, although he clicked his tongue, Seth still stood to his feet and retreated, not desiring to come in contact with this growing crater.

And at the same time, Felix descended with momentous might.

As his feet landed at the bottom of the lake, whatever grounding existed was destroyed as an explosion of debris immediately assaulted Anon’s sight.

Yet Anon was capable of moving even quicker than the debris. Before it could even take effect, whilst the lake’s bed was still in the midst of exploding into debris, Anon’s staff arched through the water and assaulted Felix.

Felix dodged the first strike, but a barrage followed thereafter.

Though he was unnaturally agile with such a burly and towering frame, Anon’s staff was simply too fast. But more than that, even when he did strike back, neither his fists nor his kicks landed.

Even after Anon was completely swallowed in the debris, while Felix’s towered over, having an advantage in sight, it was as if Anon was a step ahead, effortlessly dodging all of Felix’s attacks.

He had long breached the boundaries of the second world, yet he was seemingly nowhere near Anon.

In fact, it was also because he had breached the boundaries of the second world for some time now that,

’Well, that’s that.’ Anon mused inwardly.

Felix punched towards Anon once more, punching at nothing besides water as Anon observed from the side, at Felix whose body froze up in shock.

Like the beginning of this confrontation, sharp cracking noises resounded out, but this time, there was no stress from tension to cause this.

Before Anon’s eyes, the dark green veins that tattooed Felix’s skin in their attempt to burst through it, sunk into vagueness once more.

His burly frame and towering form, with several skin-tingling cracking sounds, dwindled down in size as the battered and bruised Felix returned to his original height.

More than that, he unconsciously took in a sharp breath of water, causing him to cough uncontrollably.

But as his body began... Anon sighed, bubbles exiting his mouth. Digging his staff under Felix’s back, he flicked upwards.

A golden radiance encompassed Felix’s body as he was sent hurling towards the surface of the lake with breakneck speed.

With Felix’s rampage coming to an end, the area around Anon slowly returned to normal, as sand quickly filled the deep crater that had taken form at the bottom of the lake.

At the same time, Anon felt a presence behind him.

Turning around, he wasn’t surprised to see Seth, but what intrigued him was the object in the latter’s hand.

In unison, a slight smile formed on their lips.

Simultaneously, they both chuckled lightly.
