Chapter 69: Vs a beast commander

As they fought, it became clear that the wolves were no match for their combined strength. Anon’s strikes, filled with the essence of inevitability, seemed to dictate the flow of the battle, while Seth’s blood-infused attacks dismantled any remaining resolve in their foes.

With a final, powerful swing of his staff, Anon sent the last of the smaller wolves tumbling into the underbrush. In fact, this was the first wolf to have appeared before the group.

The larger thunder cloud wolf, now visibly enraged, released a low and fierce growl at the duo. Until now, it had yet to act against them, only standing behind and observing as its beast soldiers fell one after another.

Clicking his tongue, Anon twirled the golden staff in his hand. "I guess the real battle begins now," he said, his voice steady as he prepared for the final confrontation.

Together, they advanced.

But even quicker, the thunder cloud wolf leapt forward.

One leap effortlessly devoured the distance that separated it and the two humans.

Though their movements were synchronized, and their staves grew illusory in their motions, Anon’s face changed to one of genuine shock. In an instant, before either of their staves could strike, the thunder cloud wolf landed before them, leaping into the air in one motion.

Blood-colored traces of lightning bolt residue were left in its wake, shimmering ominously in the dim light. Anon’s staff pierced through them—not the wolf; his staff only connected with the lingering energy of its departure.

Still, Seth reacted swiftly.

It was as if time slowed for him; he readjusted the path of his staff, elevating it toward the wolf’s imposing figure, ready to counter the imminent assault.

Seth’s staff techniques began to unfold in a dazzling display.

His mastery of staff techniques was unparalleled, and it showed as multiple false images of the staff manifested while he struck out at the thunder cloud wolf, leaving it in a state of confusion.

Each semblance appeared indistinguishable from the real weapon, turning Seth into a whirlwind of deceptive strikes. The wolf, momentarily confused, hesitated as it tried to track the true source of the incoming attack.

With no other choice, mid-air, crackling lightning buzzed around its form, and its figure became more elusive. Disappearing from above, it appeared dozens of meters away, back on the ground.

It stared at Seth with pure bloodlust festering in its eyes. To this, Seth snickered as he retracted his staff and played with it skillfully before resting it across his shoulders.

At that moment, the aura that encompassed Anon became even more prominent as the earth beneath him shattered. Bursting forth with overwhelming speed, he rushed toward the thunder cloud wolf.

To this, the wolf growled, vexed by his daringness. Naturally, it reciprocated, bolting toward Anon’s incoming figure.

Just...

His golden staff was a divine treasure that could extend several meters. Even more, as it crossed the distance separating the two, it snaked through the air like a living creature.

More than that, wrapping around his staff was the power of his principle.

Especially now, in the second world, Anon’s Inevitable End had become much more overbearing, allowing his staff to bypass the chaotic lightning swirling around the Thunder Cloud Wolf and act as its defenses, unharmed and unaffected.

He felt the energy coursing through him as he prepared to land a significant blow.

Yet the Thunder Cloud Wolf was not without its own formidable abilities.

As the staff met the creature’s fur, not even given enough time to sink into its flesh, the wolf’s aura surged with energy.

An electric field enveloped it, shimmering with energy that crackled ominously. In an instant, a powerful force exploded outward, sending Anon flying back almost instantaneously.

As his hurling figure passed Seth, the latter paid no heed to him as he was already homing in on the wolf. His veins attempted to bulge through his skin as his crimson eyes glowed an even darker shade of red.

The aura that wrapped around his worldly flesh released a blood-colored heat into his surroundings, amplifying his movements in terms of speed.

His staff danced in the air as it approached the wolf, but the force protecting this creature was simply too overwhelming, bringing Seth’s staff to a halt almost immediately.

Without hesitation, Seth retreated several steps.

At the same time, Anon rose to his feet some distance away, releasing a breath of turbid air. ’That was close,’ he thought.

The lesser divine weapon in his hand was close to shattering in the previous exchange. If he hadn’t quickly retreated, though he could’ve resisted the force, his staff would’ve failed to do so.

Still, seemingly unbothered, he grunted slightly before darting toward the beast once more.

Anyone who dared approach the forcefield encompassing the creature’s body would face a painful shock, but Anon had already anticipated this.

His spirit harnessed the power of his principle as it once again encompassed him and his staff.

In a split second, Anon dashed forward, bypassing the force that stretched out around the creature. Thereafter, his staff extended, striking the wolf with a force that echoed like a clap of thunder.

The impact resonated through the clearing, and the Thunder Cloud Wolf staggered, its growl turning into a snarl of surprise and pain. The blow opened a wound bright against the dark fur, a sign of Anon’s progress.

Seth, sensing the opportunity, amplified his own abilities.

With a swift motion, he channeled the power of his blood, elevating his speed, strength, and healing to unprecedented levels. Bloodied tears trickled down his cheeks, yet this did not affect him negatively.

A surge of power coursed through his veins, causing his heartbeat to resonate with newfound strength. His senses sharpened, allowing him to perceive every nuance of the battle—the crackling energy in the air, the subtle shifts in the wolf’s stance, the way the shadows danced around them.

With his enhanced speed, Seth launched himself toward the Thunder Cloud Wolf, his staff a blur of motion.

He executed a series of rapid strikes, each one accompanied by the illusion of multiple staves, making it nearly impossible for the wolf to predict or counter his movements.

The air filled with the sound of Kolar-dust striking fur, punctuated by the sparks of electricity that flew with each contact.

The Thunder Cloud Wolf growled in frustration, its eyes narrowing with determination.

Suddenly, dark clouds manifested three hundred feet into the sky!

Without warning, electrified blood-colored droplets of rain cascaded down from the skies in a picturesque manner.

Each droplet was a potential weapon...

The droplets sizzled as they struck the ground or clashed with Seth’s staff, creating a chaotic battlefield filled with flickering lights and sharp sounds.

Seth, undeterred, wove through the falling rain, his enhanced agility allowing him to dodge and counter the wolf’s maneuvers.

The energy of the storm invigorated him, enhancing his strikes even further.

Still, the thunder cloud wolf did not give up, releasing a loud howl that reverberated around Anon and Seth, directly assaulting and attempting to shake their spirits.

Only the main targets of its attack were two second-world stellar fighters. Their spirits were incredibly firm, unbothered by its assault.

Instead, Anon prepared for his next move.

His principle’s power churned, allowing him to draw on the remnants of his earlier attack. The injuries of the thunder cloud wolf only served to enhance his own power.

Squinting his eyes, he focused, feeling the inevitability of victory surging through him, and prepared to strike again.

The wolf, enraged and desperate, executed a sudden leap into the air, aiming directly at Seth, its body crackling with electricity as it charged.

Anon, with a fierce shout, extended his staff, hoping to intercept the wolf mid-flight.

But Seth was quicker.

He sensed the wolf’s motion, anticipating the trajectory. With a deft maneuver, he redirected his staff, causing the thunder cloud wolf to harness blood lightning once more.

However, what it attempted to evade mid-air was but an illusory staff, causing Seth’s weapon to sink into one of the wolf’s vital points, leaving its body stunned for a moment as it fell from the air.

In that fleeting moment, Anon saw his chance.

With a single, powerful swing, he aimed for the wolf’s vulnerable flank, the golden staff glowing with energy as it cut through the air. The strike landed with a resounding crack, opening a deep gash along the wolf’s side.

The Thunder Cloud Wolf howled in pain, a sound that echoed through the forest like a storm gathering force.

Banging into the earth, it swiftly rose to its feet before staggering to its side, disoriented.

Its electric aura flickered as it struggled to maintain its power.

The connection between the wolf and the dark clouds above seemed to weaken, causing the electric blood rain to decrease drastically.

Seizing the moment, Seth capitalized on Anon’s strike.

With his heightened abilities, he executed a series of rapid, decisive strikes, each one enhanced by his current state. He moved effortlessly, a blur of motion that struck at the wolf’s wounds, each strike spilling an unsightly amount of blood.

The wolf retaliated, channeling its fury into a desperate attack.

A powerful force of electricity exploded from its form, instantly affecting Anon and causing him to retreat.

Such a sudden attack caused blood to ooze from his nostrils, eyes, ears, and pores.

Frowning, Anon exclaimed, "What the fuck?!"
