Myriad Devils-Chapter 220: Appreciate you taking care of my son
"The first turning point was the meeting between a little incarnation and Anon Xerxes. The path developed would be doubtful if either were to fight to the death, so the new world order and Anon Xerxes needed a common enemy, the Human Lord, the Supreme Commander."
The Core City’s City Lord Manor, the Victorious Lord’s Manor, the Human Lord’s Palace, the Supreme Commander’s Stronghold...
It went by many names; however, this was the abode of the strongest existence.
The term, strongest existence, was used to describe one man by earthlings. Within a certain territory of the cosmic space, humans used this term to describe the same man.
Even further, across the entire cosmic space, there were multiple strongest existences; however, this man had a unique status even amongst them.
There were the strongest existences, and then, there was Him.
This was the Human Lord, the Supreme Commander, the Dragon Burial Origin Ancestor...
He sat on a throne situated within the epicenter of a ruined world. The skeletons of large beasts, indescribable remains, and ruined worlds close yet far away...
This was a universe within the City Lord’s Manor.
Near the throne, there was a table and a bench forged out of an unusual substance. Sitting there was a veiled woman.
Her pale lips, the only part of her body visible, gave off an inviting power that would drive most men over the edge.
She silently listened to the figure on the throne.
"Besides the main timeline, there were multiple sub timelines able to replace the main timeline if the main timeline went astray. The turning point of one such timeline involved the Arcola household. Anon Xerxes, upon killing the boy bearing the name, Felix Arcola, would enrage an otherworldly knight, Leren Arcola, Felix Arcola’s elder brother. Consumed by rage, Leren Arcola would abduct Anon Xerxes, and away from Earth, in the vast cosmic space, Anon Xerxes would be tortured for multiple thousands of years."
"Once his rage subsided, Leren Arcola would realize that many millennia had passed, and yet, a mortal of the second world still radiated with abundant longevity. Anon Xerxes would be auctioned to the Cosmic Deity Race, where he would be experimented on for several tens of millennia. Though this storyline is the most drawn out, it still ends with Anon Xerxes achieving an unfathomable soul and nurturing a will beyond the cosmic ruling as a mortal existence, making it a feasible timeline."
The Human Lord sat on his throne and read out loud, akin to an Emperor’s Decree.
The Human Lord...
It was unknown whether this was his true body or even if it was his true appearance; however, sitting on the Lord’s Throne was a man with a strikingly ethereal appearance, characterized by long, flowing black hair that cascaded around his shoulders.
His complexion was pale, giving him a ghostly elegance. His eyes were captivating, possibly a deep shade of gold, exuding a mysterious allure.
Adorning his face were intricate gold accessories, including chains and ornate jewelry that caught light, enhancing his regal presence.
His attire was rich in detail, featuring luxurious fabrics with elaborate patterns and a deep color palette, complemented by gold accents.
Glancing at the woman shrouded in mystery, a faint smile played on his lips, and he continued to read aloud.
"Secondly, there is the timeline of him and a little girl, Elizabeth. Therein, he accepted her love for him; however, he would later kill the young mistress of the Allmond Great Family within the Blood-Drip Jungle. Unlike the main timeline, the Allmond Great Family, deterred by the Military Academy’s protection, would instead target Elizabeth, Anon’s lover."
"Objectively, this timeline saw many tragedies striking Anon Xerxes, grinding his will and shattering his spirit; however, even in this timeline, the only one in which he nurtured a useless loving heart, he ends up developing an unfathomable soul as a mortal existence."
The woman heard this, sighed, and shook her head.
"You’re completely unrecognizable."
"Your power has changed you... You’ve lost your soul." Her voice was akin to the faintest whisper. It was not a sound, but a voice that plunged into the depths of one’s subconscious.
The Human Lord remained calm.
He was not offended by her words and instead corrected her with a gentle, soothing voice, "The truth of the world has revealed itself to me. I have not changed, but grown to understand. If you could see what I see, you would come to understand."
She, upon hearing this, gently shook her head and remained silent. The Human Lord lost his smile and continued to read with an expressionless face.
"The third and final sub timeline where he nurtures an unfathomable soul as a mortal existence. If he did not kill Catharina and did not offend the Allmond Great Family, anyway, the act of slaughtering the inheritors within the Blood-Drip Jungle would’ve enraged certain otherworldly creatures. Once more, he would be abducted from Earth, and once more, he would be tortured. However, the similarities between this timeline and the first sub timeline would end once he’s auctioned off to the Demon Clan instead of the Cosmic Deity race."
"In the Demon Clan, he would be exposed to a great amount of humiliation. Amongst the many timelines, besides a few in which his will was destroyed, he suffers the most humiliation in this timeline; however, even when suppressed and humiliated, even with the identity of an old demon’s boy slave, he would nurture an unfathomable soul as a mere mortal existence."
The universe within the Lord’s Manor trembled, and the ruined planets in the distance were smashed to cosmic debris in the blink of an eye.
An inconceivable ripple of otherworldly energy, originating from the veiled woman, quickly spread far and wide, threatening to destabilize the entire universe.
When she stood up, though, her eyes were covered; a pair of deep, abstruse, immeasurable eyes appeared in the depths of the universe, staring at the Human Lord with unbearable hatred in them.
"You would really allow this? Even if you chose to disown your own son, you’d actually watch him get humiliated like this?! What kind of monster have you become..." She spoke with emotion for the first time.
The Human Lord’s face was still expressionless, and his eyes showed no emotion or desire. He remained silent, further enraging the veiled woman.
"Heh, you killed sister... at that time, I could do nothing. However, you’d best be cautious with my nephew. You may be the Human Lord, but the stronger one’s desire, one’s emotions, and one’s aspirations, the more susceptible they are to me."
The veiled woman smiled coldly, "You who have succumbed to power are most susceptible."
Silence befell.
The Human Lord crossed his legs and interlocked his fingers, placing his hands on his knee before doubtfully tilting his head to the side.
He seemed to be in thought, but a smile slowly shaped across his face.
"You must look down on this avatar, hence why you speak so brazenly." The Human Lord chuckled faintly.
His voice was slightly different now.
Though the one speaking was the Human Lord sitting on the throne, his voice seemingly originated from every direction and spatial position of this universe.
His voice shook the universe.
"I admit, I am incomparable to my Venerable self; however, I am still Aegon Xerxes, the Human Lord, the Supreme Commander, the Dragon Burial Origin Ancestor."
"Do you not know who We are?" Voices questioned the veiled woman, but they did not give her time to reply.
A voice roared throughout the universe, "This King single-handedly led the human rebellion against the Dragon race back then. This King single-handedly pulled the Human race into the status of an Archaic Cosmic Powerhouse. This King single-handedly obstructed, and continues to obstruct, the Celestial Supreme and the Infernal God from descending into the Cosmic Space."
"Now tell me, do you gain confidence because you’ve transcended the ranks of cosmic beings and entered the ranks of us, Overlords?" His words ruthlessly struck down on the veiled woman. She stumbled a step back, stunned by his gaze that seemed to pierce through all secrets.
"Let me assist you in understanding. There are the strongest existences, and you’ve now become one of them, and then, there are those at the pinnacle. Higher than the pinnacle, that is where I am, that is where the Celestial Supreme is, and that is where the Infernal God is."
"All others... nonentities!"
Following his words, an indescribable pressure crushed down onto the veiled woman’s body. The eyes of the Human Lord lit up, and he waved his hand.
The universe calmed, and the cosmic debris reverted to ruined planets.
"I will not destroy a mere avatar of yours," the Human Lord paused before chuckling faintly and saying, "Anyway, our favorite child has returned, and he’s in a little bit of a tight spot."
Releasing a deep sigh, Anon’s aunt weakly said, "I’ll go and deal with the new world order now."
But the Human Lord dismissed her words with a wave of his hand.
"It’s okay," he calmly stated.
Gently, he grasped at the empty air in front of him.
Space suddenly rippled.
The purest incarnation, who was about to suppress Anon, felt a gentle tap on his shoulder. Instantly, he understood the origin of that tap, but he could do nothing...
"I appreciate you taking care of my son; however, you’ve run out of use." Such a voice lifted the consciousness of all saints, servants, and believers.
It was doubtful whether they merely fell unconscious or had now ceased to exist.
The Human Lord’s arm reached out toward Anon, who stared in a daze, unable to even twitch a muscle.
"Your period of growth has come to end. It is time for your ascension, child."
