My Young Husband, The Assasin-Chapter 37: The flames of revenge
Chapter 37 - The flames of revenge
Tetsuya's cheeks turned red with two handprints—one from Keiko, who vented her disappointment and heartbreak, and the other from Saki, who was furious because he had claimed to have a special relationship with her and even announced they were getting married soon.
Fortunately, Tetsuya didn't end up in the hospital again because of this incident, especially since Saki was ready to explode and kill him. Luckily, Issei arrived and managed to calm Saki down.
If not for Issei, it wouldn't just be Tetsuya's red cheeks—he might have ended up with a few broken bones from Saki, a national karate champion during her middle school years. Thanks to Tetsuya's antics, the café became chaotic, and a big fight almost broke out when Issei wanted to beat Tetsuya. Fortunately, Issei managed to control his anger and not lose his temper.
Keiko, crying hysterically and looking completely disheveled, was taken home by Shiro in a taxi. Of course, Shiro's departure added to the disappointment of the girls who had overheard Tetsuya's confession earlier.
"How does it feel to get slapped by two women at once?" Renji asked mockingly.
Renji couldn't stop smiling, enjoying Tetsuya's endless suffering. Even though he had just gotten out of the hospital, Tetsuya was already hurt again—this time because of his actions. He had provoked Saki, so it was no wonder she hit him to vent her anger. This time, Tetsuya had gone too far.
After being slapped, Tetsuya also had to endure a long lecture from Aira, who scolded him the entire way home. As a result, Tetsuya had to endure the pain in his cheeks and the heat in his ears while listening to Aira's endless nagging.
As his cousin, Renji didn't help at all. Instead, he remained silent and smiled, enjoying Tetsuya's misery.
"Thanks for the ride," Tetsuya said as they arrived in front of his apartment building.
"Put some ice on your cheeks, Tetsuya-kun, so they don't swell," Aira said worriedly after scolding him harshly earlier.
"Yeah, thanks," he replied lazily.
"We're leaving now," Renji said as they bid farewell.
The car carrying Renji and Hianta drove off, leaving the area of Tetsuya's apartment building.
As Tetsuya walked through the lobby, the building staff who happened to pass by greeted him respectfully, as the building belonged to the Ishikawa family. It was no surprise that Tetsuya was highly respected here.
The atmosphere in Tetsuya's apartment was quiet and lonely, as he was the only one living in such an ample space. Sometimes, Tetsuya felt sad because no one ever welcomed him home. It wasn't strange, though, as he had been alone since childhood, growing up without his parents' love.
When he entered his room, a desk calendar on the nightstand near the lamp caught his attention. One of the dates this month was circled in red marker.
His dark eyes gazed sadly at the calendar. "Tomorrow is the anniversary of my mother's death," he sighed.
Although Tetsuya didn't remember much about his mother, as he had been left without both parents by the age of two—his father had passed away before he was even born—she was still his mother. This woman had brought him into this world. As a child, it was only right always to remember the sacrifices of one's parents, even if they were no longer alive, by visiting their graves to pray.
At a glance, Tetsuya's life could be described as tragic. However, Tetsuya hated it when people pitied him because he didn't feel his life was that pitiful. For him, Renji was his only family, and his life could now be considered happy. His grandfather didn't constrain him, so why dwell in sadness?
For Tetsuya, life kept moving forward and would never stop, not even for a second, let alone rewind to the past.
What had happened was in the past, and he chose to keep it as a memory—whether it was joyful, sad, heartbreaking, or painful. Life wasn't always beautiful; many things could happen, like the variety of flavors—sweet, bitter, salty, spicy, and sour. Similarly, life wasn't always smooth; there would always be obstacles.

Renji had lost count of how many times he had sighed heavily, watching Aira sit silently on the edge of the bed, refusing to speak or even look at him, which left him confused and worried. Since they had returned home, Aira had been like this, making Renji both puzzled and anxious.
"My wife," he called softly, crouching before Aira.
Aira fidgeted with her fingers on her lap, a sign of nervousness or frustration. As her husband, Renji was very familiar with every gesture of hers.
"Are you mad at me, honey?" he asked in the gentlest tone possible. Aira remained silent, her face sinking deeper into a frown.
Renji's hand reached for Aira's chin, gently lifting it to make her eyes meet his sorrowful gaze. "I'm sorry."
Aira's arms immediately wrapped tightly around Renji's neck, accompanied by soft sobs that she had been holding back until now.
"Shh, please don't cry. It's my fault for upsetting you," he said softly, taking responsibility for her distress. "Where have you been all this time, Renji-kun?" she sobbed, filled with longing. "I'm sorry for making you worry." "I missed you so much, my husband." "I missed you too, my wife." He looked at Aira's tear-streaked face. "I'm home now, sweetheart," he murmured, gently kissing her forehead.
"Welcome back, my husband," she replied with a happy smile.

Soft snores could be heard from Aira, who had fallen asleep after crying for half an hour and then dozing off in Renji's embrace.
Renji gently laid her down and covered her body up to her chest with a blanket. He didn't leave immediately, choosing instead to sit on the edge of the bed, gazing longingly at the face of his beloved wife. His right hand caressed Aira's rounded belly, expressing his love for their unborn child.
"Ngh~" Aira let out a soft moan as Renji's palm stroked her belly.
"Have a nice dream, honey," he whispered, kissing her head. Renji's entire body felt sore and sticky with sweat. Taking a bath in the bathtub didn't seem like a bad idea.
After taking a few steps, Renji suddenly stopped right next to the dressing table. His dark eyes fixed on a white envelope with the logo of a large hospital lying near the table. Feeling curious, Renji opened it and read its contents hastily, word by word.
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on ƒreewebɳovel.com.
Renji's eyes widened in shock as he realized this was the medical report stating that Aira was suffering from prenatal depression. His heart was immediately filled with guilt for not being able to give Aira more attention, as he had been too caught up in his world and the endless tasks that demanded his time, forcing him to neglect her.
Renji promptly called the hospital and asked to talk to Aira's doctor, wishing to know her condition. Upon hearing the explanation and advice of the doctor, Renji's heart was filled with tremendous guilt for his inability to safeguard his wife and unborn baby.
"Thanks a lot for the information and the advice, doctor," Renji said, then hung up.
He sighed softly and walked over to Aira, still peacefully asleep, her face calm and serene. Before he could reach the edge of the bed, Renji was startled by the loud vibration of Aira's phone. Luckily, it didn't wake her up.
Without asking for permission, Renji opened Aira's phone. When he checked it, he saw a message from Saki. As he was about to close the screen, he accidentally opened the conversation between Saki and Aira, which discussed Maki and Yuna. In the messages, Saki seemed deeply concerned and sad, worried that Aira might despair over Maki's hurtful words.
Renji's hands clenched tightly, and this time, he was genuinely furious when he realized that his wife had once again been harassed by Maki, even after being warned. Yet, Maki still dared to bother Aira.
Filled with anger, Renji called Saki directly to ask what had happened, knowing that Saki and Issei had been looking after Aira while he was away.
At first, Saki hesitated to explain the situation. Still, Renji kept pressing her, and eventually, she told him everything in detail, leaving nothing out, as she had been there with Aira when the incident occurred.
The first person Renji contacted to handle this matter was Tetsuya. Renji pressed the number 2 on his phone, which was directly connected to Tetsuya's phone. However, Tetsuya didn't answer after several attempts, which only fueled Renji's frustration.
"Where is he? Why isn't he answering my calls?" Renji muttered, still trying to reach Tetsuya. After numerous attempts, Tetsuya finally answered the call.
(What's up, Renji?) Tetsuya asked from the other end of the line.
"Why weren't you answering my calls?"
(I was busy in the bathroom.)
"Don't tell me you were..."
(My stomach hurts.) Tetsuya quickly interjected, denying Renji's inappropriate assumption. (What do you want?) Tetsuya asked in the middle of his business.
"I want the Kenzaki company to go bankrupt by today."
(Okay, but at least let me finish my business in the bathroom!)
"Don't waste time. Get it done, Tetsuya!"
(My stomach hurts, Renji!) Tetsuya groaned over the phone, his voice strained as he was in the middle of something.
"I don't care! Hurry up and do it, no excuses," Renji scolded.
(Fine, fine. Don't get mad. Just wait calmly at home.) Tetsuya replied, resigned, as he couldn't refuse.
"I'll be waiting for your update, and Tetsuya, don't forget to flush properly."
(Shut up! I don't need you to remind me.) Tetsuya snapped before hanging up.
Renji's anger had reached its peak, boiling in his chest as he learned that the daughter-in-law of the Kenzaki family had mistreated his wife. Initially, Renji had softened his stance due to his good relationship with Kenzaki Haru, but now all that was useless.
"I'll make you kneel and bow at Aira's feet," Renji hissed.
