My Young Husband, The Assasin-Chapter 27: Defending
Chapter 27 - Defending
The atmosphere in the restroom was quite busy, but not to the point where Aira had to stand in line to enter.
After finishing in the restroom, Aira remembered that she had not washed her hands with soap and rinsed them under clear running water. Busy with her activities, she ignored her surroundings, especially the red-haired girl standing beside her, who was engrossed in playing with her phone.
As Aira was about to leave, they accidentally bumped into each other, causing the girl's phone to fall into the sink, where the tap water was still running.
"My phone!!!" the girl screamed in panic.
"I'm sorry," Aira apologized sincerely, unaware someone was standing beside her.
Feeling annoyed and unwilling to accept what she thought was Aira's intentional act, the girl grabbed Aira. She pulled her outside, not caring that the woman she was dragging was heavily pregnant, as she was consumed by anger.

More than ten minutes had passed since Aira left, making Saki anxious. She hurried to check on her in the women's restroom without waiting any longer. However, Saki found no sign of Aira when she arrived. She knocked in panic and checked each bathroom door separately to make sure Aira wasn't inside.
Saki heard Aira's voice faintly, coming from the direction of the restaurant's back entrance as she frantically searched for her. Without hesitation, Saki ran toward the source of the sound to find out and confirm if the voice she heard was indeed Aira's.
"Pay for it, or come with me to the police station," the girl threatened.
"I will definitely replace your phone, but not right now because I left my wallet at home," Aira explained honestly, as she had forgotten to bring her wallet and only had her phone.
"Lame excuse," the girl snapped, thinking Aira was lying.
"It's true."
Aira was pushed backwards until she hit the wall. "Then you'll have to come with me to the police station."
"But..."
"Stop it!" Saki shouted, rushing over and forcefully pushing the red-haired girl away from Aira. "Are you all crazy, huh? She's heavily pregnant!" Saki scolded the group of teenage girls, who showed no empathy whatsoever.
"Saki-chan," Aira whispered, clutching Saki's hand tightly, seeking protection.
"Calm down, Aira. I'm here," Saki said softly, trying to soothe Aira, who was visibly terrified.

Saki's sharp eyes glared at the arrogant girls in front of her. "What did you do to her?!" Saki yelled angrily, seeing her friend being cornered by a group of women dressed provocatively and wearing clown-like makeup. Saki stood in front of Aira, protecting her like a knight.
"Don't interfere in our business, lady."
"Your outfits and makeup make you look like flirtatious aunties."
"This makeup is trendy. You're just outdated and clueless."
Saki remained silent, unfazed by their claims of being trendy. To her, their makeup was excessive for teenagers in their early teens.
"Besides, who are you? Are you her friend?" the red-haired girl asked irritably.
"Yes, I'm her friend. Got a problem?" Saki shot back in a raised tone.
"Good, because your friend here just ruined my expensive limited-edition phone," the girl explained, folding her arms across her chest and glaring at Saki.
"You're making a big deal out of that ugly phone? How much does it even cost?" Saki asked curtly. "$4,000," the red-haired girl answered arrogantly. Saki and Aira's faces showed shock and disbelief at the amount mentioned.
"Are you asking for compensation or just trying to extort money, huh?!" Saki protested loudly.
"That includes compensation for the inconvenience and damage you caused me."
"You're out of your mind, huh!"
"How dare you insult me! Don't you know I'm the future fiancée of the famous Renji Ishikawa?" the long-haired girl said with complete confidence.
"Hahahahahahaha!" Saki heard the girl's ridiculous assertion and started laughing uncontrollably. Given that Renji's real wife, Aira, was standing directly in front of them, expecting his kid, she was astounded by the girl's self-assured boasting about their unique bond.
Saki scoffed and said, "Don't dream too high, or you'll get hurt when you fall," grinning.
"How dare you!" the girl shouted furiously, trying to attack Saki and Aira.
The girl's friends also attempted to attack Saki and Aira, but Saki fought back bravely, refusing to back down. She even counterattacked without fear while Aira stood at a distance, unable to do anything but watch and hope Saki would be okay.
A fight was inevitable. Although Saki was outnumbered four to one, she was a former delinquent during high school, so taking them on wasn't too difficult for her.
Saki grabbed the hair of the teenage girls who tried to attack her, especially since she had to protect Aira and her unborn child from their malicious hands.
Her gentle hands, usually used to make coffee, serve food to customers, and tend to flowers at her mother's flower shop, were now used to scratch, pull hair, and slap the arrogant faces of those girls. The fight was unavoidable and quickly drew the attention of many onlookers.
As a result, Saki, the four teenage girls, and Aira were now at the police station for causing a public disturbance. The restaurant had to call security to break up the fight.
The teenage girls' hair was messy, with bruises, scratches, and nail marks on their faces—all courtesy of Saki. Saki wasn't much better, though she had no serious injuries. Her hair, however, was just as dishevelled as if she'd been caught in a storm.
The police officer asked them to contact their respective families to pick them up after filing a report, as they had caused a scene in a public place.
The red-haired girl with glasses, the main instigator, now wanted to counter-sue Saki and Aira for causing her distress, significantly since Aira had damaged her expensive phone. She used her status as the daughter of the Kenzaki family to seek revenge on Saki.
"I want them to face severe punishment for assaulting us like this," she said, her face full of anger after being thoroughly beaten by Saki.
"We'll handle this case properly, Miss Yuna Kenzaki. Please remain calm."
"Thank you. Then we'll take our leave."
"Be careful, Miss. We'll keep you informed as the case progresses.
With a threatening smile, Yuna said, "I'll be waiting," addressing Saki and Aira, who were still not allowed to go. "Let's go, everyone."
Saki squeezed her hands hard to prevent herself from losing her temper and attacking Yuna Kenzaki. Although Yuna started the fight, she lied about the facts.
"That snake of a girl," Saki cursed under her breath. Because of Yuna's report, Aira and Saki were detained and couldn't leave.
"In this matter, Aira is completely innocent. I was the one who fought them; it has nothing to do with her," Saki said, trying to defend Aira and not wanting to drag her into trouble. But the police officer remained unmoved as if Saki's words were nothing but wind.
"Please understand her condition—she's heavily pregnant. Don't you feel any pity?"
"If she knew she was heavily pregnant, why did she cause trouble?" the officer replied curtly, which hurt Saki deeply, especially since Aira was the one being discussed.
Refusing to listen to further explanations, the officer took them to a temporary holding cell to await further proceedings.
"I'm so sorry, Aira. Because of me, you ended up..." Saki cried, unable to continue speaking, overwhelmed with guilt.
"I should be thanking you for trying your best to protect me. I'm sorry for dragging you into this mess."
Saki hugged Aira tightly, crying as she poured out her feelings dominated by guilt. Meanwhile, Fujita and Tetsuya had returned to the restaurant. However, the black-haired young man was panicking, searching for Aira, nowhere to be found in the fast-food restaurant. It hadn't even been an hour since they left to avoid Keiko.
After asking one of the restaurant staff, Tetsuya received the shocking news that the two women he was looking for had been taken to the police station for being involved in a fight with some teenage girls.
Tetsuya's heart felt like it had dropped out of his chest, and even Fujita, who was usually calm, was now panicking. He immediately contacted the young master to inform him of the situation quickly.
"We need to get there before Renji arrives and skins me alive for leaving Aira behind," Tetsuya said in a panic, rushing toward the car.
When Renji learned that his wife was at the police station, he immediately rushed there, still wearing his school uniform. He rode his motorcycle to get there faster.
It didn't take long for Renji to arrive. As soon as he did, he hurriedly entered the police station, searching for his wife, especially since she was heavily pregnant.
"Excuse me, young man, who are you? And who are you looking for?" one of the officers asked politely, stopping Renji from going further.
"Where is my wife?" Renji asked anxiously.
The police officer looked at Renji with a mix of confusion and annoyance. "Don't joke around here, kid," he scolded.
"Who's joking?" Renji snapped back.
"Fine, I'll assume you're not joking. Then, what's your wife's name?" the officer asked.
"Aira..."
"Oh, that woman," the officer quickly recalled the name of the woman who had just been placed in the holding cell.
"Where is she now?" Renji asked, worried.
"We've placed her in a cell."
"On what grounds are you holding her? Don't you know she's heavily pregnant?" Renji groaned, half-furious.
"For that matter, you can ask the officer handling the case. You can go to the desk over there."
Without waiting any longer, Renji approached the officer to inquire about Aira's condition and the reason for her detention. Renji understood the situation after asking many questions and receiving a detailed explanation about Aira and Saki's case. Still, he couldn't just sit idly by while his heart was behind bars.
"Can I meet with both of them?"
"Of course. Please follow me."
Aira's face lit up with joy, even crying when she saw Renji before her. "Anata," she sobbed, gripping Renji's hand tightly.
"Calm down, I'll get you both out of here," Renji's hand gently wiped away the tears on Aira's cheek, while Saki could only sit limply in the corner, feeling ashamed to face Renji for failing to protect Aira.
"I'm sorry, Renji-san."
"Don't be mad at Saki-chan; she was just trying to protect me, and in this matter, it's my fault," Aira said, trying to defend Saki, afraid Renji might get angry.
"Don't blame yourself, Aira. I'm the one who should be blamed."
Renji smiled in relief because, as a friend, he was proud of Saki's loyalty.
"Don't worry, I won't get angry or blame you."
"Really?"
"Yes." He gently kissed the back of Aira's hand.
Renji's soft expression turned cold as he left the detention cell and approached one of the police officers. "Please release them both, as I will vouch for Aira and Saki."
"Who are you to them?" asked one of the officers, surprised.
"I am Aira's husband," Renji answered loudly and clearly.
The police officer looked Renji up and down with a strange look, especially since Renji was still wearing his high school uniform.
"If you want to joke, this is not the place. From any angle, you look more like her little brother than her husband. You should go home. We'll wait for her real husband. Don't try to deceive us."
Renji stood his ground, feeling frustrated because of the disbelief just because of his age and the fact that he was still wearing a school uniform.
"Finally, you'll listen to us and go home."
"I just want to contact a lawyer, not go home." The officers laughed, amused by Renji's statement, thinking it was a childish lie, especially from someone so young.
"Call him and tell him to come here. We want to see the face of your little lawyer."
Renji smiled sarcastically. "Sit tight and wait for him."
"Sure. We'll be waiting," one of the younger officers responded, almost daring Renji. But Renji remained undeterred and became more determined. Renji reached into his pants pocket and pulled out his smartphone to contact someone.
(Good afternoon, Young Master Renji) The man on the other end of the line was greeted with great respect.
"Can you come to the police station in Tokyo right now to take care of something?" Renji asked bluntly.
(Is something wrong with you?) the man asked, concerned.
"Just come and don't ask too many questions. My mood is not great. I'll give you thirty minutes," Renji commanded.
(Understood, Young Master,) the man responded obediently.
