My Yandere Harem Doesn't Accept No-Chapter 13: The Five Most Popular Girls in the Academy Together
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
The knocking didn’t stop, and with each one that came, the tension inside the room rose a little more.
Lyan and Saoirse looked at each other at the same time without saying anything, their breathing still slightly uneven and their clothes clearly only half put back in place.
Neither of them moved for a second, as if simply staying still would be enough for the knocking to stop on its own.
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
The knocking returned. "Saoirse..."
A voice from the other side of the door echoed directly and without hesitation. Then another overlapped it, and then another, all at the same time, each with a tone that wasn’t exactly a shout but left no room to be ignored.
It was practically a tone that made it clear the people outside the room had already run out of patience.
Lyan recognized one of those voices without much effort, it was Sera.
Both of them moved immediately, without making the slightest noise, and with some clumsiness began getting dressed.
Saoirse buttoned her shirt a bit awkwardly, then adjusted her skirt with both hands, slipped one hand under her shirt, and exhaled slowly, looking at the ceiling for a moment before looking forward again.
"I’m coming." Saoirse said out loud, with a calmness she was clearly struggling to maintain, and walked straight to the door.
When she opened it, she found four girls standing side by side on the other side, their eyes fixed on her and their expressions completely dark.
They looked at her in a very specific way, no words were needed for the message to come across on its own.
Saoirse faced them with a nervous smile that didn’t convince any of the four girls, her hair still slightly messy at the sides despite her earlier attempt to fix it.
One of them, the one standing closest to the center of the group, narrowed her eyes slightly before speaking.
"Did you forget the deal?" she murmured, in a low, serious tone.
Saoirse held her gaze without stepping back even a centimeter, her back straight and her jaw slightly tense.
"No." she replied in the same tone. "And I didn’t do anything."
The other girl looked at her for a moment longer, then simply shifted her gaze briefly toward the inside of the room before returning it to her, saying nothing else.
Saoirse stepped aside, and the four of them entered.
- - - -
Lyan was sitting on the couch with his arms resting on his knees and visible tension in his shoulders when the four of them crossed the threshold one after another.
He knew Sera, but he had never seen the other three before, and as he looked at them trying to place who they were, the system appeared next to each of them, solving the problem for him.
[Aveline Duval – Main Character.]
She was a tall girl, around five foot seven, with long blonde hair that clearly leaned toward orange depending on how the light hit it.
With eyes of the same color, and a neutral expression, with a gaze that shifted between boredom and evaluation.
[Evelyne Montclair – Main Character.]
She was slightly shorter than Aveline, with completely white long hair and light blue eyes. She looked around the room calmly, without hurry or nervousness, as if silently investigating everything that had happened earlier in that room...
[Serelis D’Argent – Main Character.]
Black hair, black eyes, and a colder, more still gaze than the other three, as if none of this interested her at all. She remained standing near the door with her arms crossed over her chest and didn’t say a word.
Behind them, Sera entered, closing the door.
Saoirse stayed leaning against the back wall with her arms crossed, returning their looks without giving ground, while the other four spread out around the room with a certain silent tension.
That was when the system appeared again.
[All five girls to conquer are in the same room! Good luck, player!]
Lyan read the message, glancing at the five of them before looking back at the screen.
And in that second, with all five standing in front of him and the killing looks three of them were giving Saoirse, he fully processed exactly what situation he was in.
The five girls of the game, all together, in the same room where just minutes ago he had been doing that with Saoirse...
He blanked out for a moment.
And then all five of them turned toward him at the same time.
Lyan slowly raised a hand, greeting the four of them nervously without much more to offer than that.
Sera was the first to react, smiling widely before walking toward him and sitting next to him on the couch, pressing herself against him naturally and bringing her face just inches from his.
Lyan glanced at her. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing." she replied in the same cheerful tone, as if the fact that if she moved even a millimeter she’d kiss him was nothing, before discreetly smelling him so he wouldn’t notice. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Then she looked at him curiously. "What were you doing?"
The question fell into the room, making the other three immediately pay attention, their eyes shifting between Lyan and Saoirse.
The latter looked away with a small smile that no one else saw, or at least that’s what she hoped.
"Uh..." Lyan murmured, searching for the right words. "I was helping Saoirse with her art class." he said, pointing toward the easel at the back of the room, where the canvas with the portrait was still resting in place.
The four of them looked in the direction he pointed, in brief silence as they evaluated.
Then they began nodding slowly, one by one, calmly, as if losing some concern over something Lyan didn’t know about.
Evelyne was the last to look away from the canvas, and before doing so she murmured something softly, almost to herself.
"It’s pretty..."
