My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 48 - 46: My Master Is Not a Fraud
But she was interrupted.
"Niece, why keep a servant who bad-mouths her master?"
The smile on Tanner Sinclair’s lips faded slightly, and his eyes grew colder, carrying a hint of Master Sinclair’s authority.
Stella Sinclair’s heart jumped, and she couldn’t help but shiver.
Jade Sinclair glanced at Sue Quinn, her tone unpleasant. "Sister-in-law, get her out of here!"
Hailey Gordon might seem domineering usually, but when the Sinclair men truly got angry, she grew fearful. Especially seeing the humorless gaze in Tanner Sinclair’s eyes, she said nothing and immediately had someone drag Sue Quinn out.
Seeing that the annoying Sue Quinn had finally left the room, Zeke Quincy immediately spoke up. "Aurora, let me see your medicine."
Only then did Aurora Sinclair slowly withdraw the "Power" emanating from her.
Tanner Sinclair secretly breathed a sigh of relief. The Power she had just exuded was so oppressive he could barely breathe.
This "Power" was something that only Martial Artists at the martial master level or above could hope to cultivate, and only by using the Martial Alliance’s internal Cultivation Techniques.
To project it outward for others to feel, one’s strength had to be at least at the Martial Arts Master level.
’How could a mere Great Warrior 9th Dan possess such "Power"?’
At this thought, Tanner Sinclair’s gaze grew extremely serious.
This was a closely guarded secret he had only learned after joining the Kingsford Martial Alliance. Outsiders had no right to know about it, let alone be able to cultivate "Power."
He continuously sized up Aurora Sinclair. ’I’ll have to take her to the Alliance for another test someday,’ he thought.
Meanwhile, Aurora Sinclair placed the cloth bundle back on the bed, opened it, and took out one of the many glass vials inside.
The medicine in the vial was a black powder, ground very finely, looking much like dark ash.
Zeke Quincy opened the vial and held it to his nose for a sniff. A faint scent of herbs wafted out. Jade Sinclair smelled it too. She looked at her daughter, who had since emerged from under the covers, and asked uncertainly, "Are you sure you want to use this medicine?"
Jean Quincy nodded firmly. "I trust Aurora!"
Nearby, Stella Sinclair couldn’t help but stand up from the bedside. Her expression was grim as she took a few steps toward the window.
"Fine, I’ll call Dr. Warren over!"
Dr. Warren was the Quincy family’s private physician and usually stayed with Mr. Quincy, but Aurora Sinclair replied directly, "No need. This will be quick."
With that, she grasped Jean Quincy’s left calf with one hand and, with the other, expertly unwrapped the gauze from her left ankle.
Strangely, Jean Quincy didn’t cry out in pain, only furrowing her brow slightly.
Zeke Quincy’s eyes narrowed, his heart filled with shock.
They had gone to the hospital together that afternoon. When the doctor was applying the ointment and bandaging her up, Jean Quincy had been screaming and wailing the entire time, tears streaming down her face from the pain. He didn’t know if it was some kind of twin telepathy, but he had felt an intense pain in his own left foot back then.
Beneath the gauze, Jean Quincy’s left ankle was swollen like a steamed bun. It was covered in a dark ointment, a sight that made Jade Sinclair’s heart ache so much she couldn’t stop her tears from flowing again.
Aurora Sinclair said to Zeke Quincy, "Wash off the ointment."
Zeke Quincy immediately went to make the arrangements.
Soon, servants brought in two or three basins of water, along with small towels.
Aurora had Jean slowly move to the edge of the bed and place her foot in the first basin to be cleaned. Then, she picked up the small glass vial and poured the black powder inside into the second basin.
A servant initially tried to wash Jean Quincy’s foot, but the moment her hand touched it, Jean cried out from the unbearable pain.
Aurora crouched down and pressed a spot on her left calf, and she immediately fell silent.
Only then did Zeke Quincy realize the reason Jean hadn’t cried out in pain earlier was that Aurora had been pressing one of her acupoints.
The servants took the opportunity to wash her foot, changing the water twice before all the ointment was finally cleaned off.
Aurora had her put her foot into the basin where she had poured the black powder.
Everyone held their breath.
Jean Quincy carefully extended her foot.
The black water was cool and a little slippery, just like gelatin.
"How is it?" Zeke Quincy and Jade Sinclair both crowded around to ask.
"It’s really comfortable. Like gelatin... It feels like it’s completely enveloping my foot..."
Jean Quincy wiggled her foot, and the water in the basin separated into layers: a layer of black, flocculent material floated on top, with clear water underneath.
"Soak for half an hour." Aurora Sinclair stood up, glanced at her watch, and set an alarm.
Hailey Gordon didn’t believe for a second that Aurora’s medicine would work. Her eyes filled with disdain as she walked over to the sofa and sat down.
’I’d like to see what kind of trick Aurora thinks she can pull.’
Stella Sinclair didn’t go over, remaining by the wall and watching them with cold eyes.
Time ticked by, second by second.
When the alarm rang, Jean Quincy couldn’t wait to pull her foot out.
During that half hour, not only had she felt no pain, but her foot had even started to feel a little itchy.
But the "gelatin" around her foot seemed to have turned into black mud, and she couldn’t pull it out no matter how she tried.
"Aurora, why is it stuck?"
Aurora poked the black mud and replied, "Too much powder. Add more water."
A servant quickly poured another half-basin of water in, and soon the black mud turned back into "gelatin" floating on the surface.
Jean Quincy carefully lifted her foot out.
"Holy shit!" Zeke Quincy cried out in shock.
The left foot that had been swollen like a steamed bun just moments ago was now more than halfway back to its normal size. You could even see the shape of her ankle bone.
In disbelief, Jade Sinclair and Tanner Sinclair crouched down to look at her foot. Jade even touched it gently and asked in delighted surprise, "Does it still hurt?"
"A little, but it’s more of a throbbing ache."
"Mm, it’ll be fine after a few more soaks." Aurora Sinclair nodded and turned to start packing up the medicine vials on the bed.
"Wait a minute, niece! Do you have any more of this medicine?"
Aurora searched through her vials before handing one to him.
Tanner Sinclair immediately took it, his eyes shining. "Niece, where did you buy this miracle medicine? Can you help your uncle buy some more? My boxing gym is in desperate need of this stuff..."
Aurora shook her head. "I didn’t buy it. My junior sister made it."
Hearing this, Tanner Sinclair’s eyes grew even brighter. "Niece, can you contact your junior sister and ask her to make more for your uncle? I’ll make it worth her while. What’s her phone number?"
Aurora shook her head again. "She doesn’t have a phone."
"What? Then how do you contact her?"
"By letter."
Everyone: "..."
The mother and daughter, standing to the side and long forgotten by everyone, had grim expressions and were digging their nails fiercely into their palms.
Hailey Gordon forced a stiff smile. "Well, since Jean is fine now, Stella and I will be heading back."
Only then did Jade Sinclair remember the other two were still in the room. She quickly stood up to see them out.
At that moment, the other three, who had been "petrified" with shock, quickly reached for Aurora’s cloth bundle, but she was faster. None of them managed to grab it.
"Hehehe, niece, we’re all family. How about giving your uncle a little more of that miracle medicine?"
"Aurora, I have an invalid at home, you have to take extra care of us!"
"Exactly! Aurora, my foot is still like this! I desperately need your medicine..."
