My Werewolf System-Chapter 1810: Two Titan’s Clash
The night sky hung heavy over Ruin City, where jagged piles of debris lay scattered like the bones of a fallen civilization. In the hollowed-out center of what had once been a grand castle, the silence was broken by the presence of two towering werewolf figures. They stood amidst the rubble, their shadows stretching long across the cracked stone.
Lupus stood defiant, clad in his full set of specialized armor, his massive shield held steady in his grip. Opposite him stood Unzoku, a creature of primal malice. They had barely exchanged their opening blows, but Unzoku had already decided it was the perfect moment to end the charade. He reached out, seeking to weave his familiar web of control.
In Unzoku’s mind, the outcome was certain. He would claim Lupus once again, turning the legendary warrior into his own personal puppet. With Lupus seemingly having gained even more strength since their last encounter, he would be the perfect weapon to level the rest of this world. As Unzoku gathered his dark powers, a familiar, sickly mist began to linger over Lupus’s armored body.
But as the mist curled around Lupus’s throat, Unzoku’s wrist was suddenly snatched out of the air. The grip was like an iron vice.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Lupus growled, his voice a low, subterranean rumble.
“What...” Unzoku’s eyes widened in genuine shock. “My powers... why? Why aren’t they working against you! This is impossible... it’s just like with him. It’s just like that green-haired boy! What have you two done to yourselves?”
Lupus didn’t bother answering with words. He violently swung the captured wrist to the side, throwing Unzoku off balance, and began to wind up a heavy fist. He drew deep from his reserves, gathering his Qi in a swirling vortex. He pulled power from the shield he had painstakingly crafted with beast crystals, from the reinforced armor he wore, and from every scrap of combat knowledge he had brought with him from the past world.
He swung.
The punch connected deep in Unzoku’s chest. The muscles around Unzoku’s stomach constricted instantly, attempting to shift and absorb the impact, but it wasn’t enough to stop the momentum. A series of explosive shockwaves and pulses of raw Qi went off at the point of contact, the sheer kinetic energy sending Unzoku flying backward.
Unzoku’s body crashed into the ground, skipping like a stone across a pond. Dust and debris erupted everywhere as he continued to bounce through the ruins, until he eventually clawed his hand into the floor to arrest his momentum. He stood back up, one arm clutched over his heaving chest.
“This damned power... how has he gotten this much stronger in such a short amount of time?” Unzoku hissed to himself. “And why aren’t my powers sticking?” He bared his teeth, ready to launch a counter-attack.
The only problem was that Lupus wasn’t planning on giving him a moment to breathe. He was already high in the air, silhouetted against the moon, winding up for another massive overhead strike.
Unzoku saw the shadow and leapt aside at the last possible second. Lupus’s fist crashed into the floor where he had just been standing, creating a massive spider-web of cracks that radiated outward for twenty feet. Lupus took a brief moment to scan his surroundings; he was thankful that the initial hit had carried the fight far enough away from the base. He could cut loose here.
Unzoku had avoided the strike, but the moment his feet touched the ground, he felt a sudden, biting chill. He glanced down and saw that his feet were stuck. A thick layer of ice had instantly formed around his feet. It wasn’t just his feet, though, the entire area surrounding the crater Lupus had made was now coated in a shimmering, deadly frost.
“The control of Qi has helped me master these strange elemental powers as well,” Lupus said, his eyes glowing with an icy resolve. “If you think this fight is going to go the same way it did last time, then you’re an even bigger idiot than I thought.”
Unzoku roared, his muscles bulging as he shattered the ice with ease. Instead of retreating, he charged forward, his mouth open in a feral snarl.
“All of your powers exist because of me! I am the source! You think a few toys and some breathing tricks can best me?”
When Unzoku closed the distance, he threw a heavy, piston-like punch. Lupus raised his shield to meet it. The impact vibrated through the metal, the sound echoing like a tolling bell across the ruins. Lupus countered with a fist of his own, but Unzoku met it with a punch of his own.
The two fists collided in mid-air. The power between the two seemed perfectly equal; a shockwave rippled out from the point of impact, but neither warrior was pushed back an inch. Unzoku, being slightly larger than Lupus, used his height to swing a massive arm down from above.
Lupus raised the large shield to block the overhead strike, the shield groaning under the pressure. As the shield took the weight, Lupus swung his free arm, firing out a large claw-strike made of pure energy. Unzoku didn’t even flinch; he simply shoved his foot forward in a brutal kick. The claw-strike shattered against his leg, unable to even pierce his toughened skin.
The fight devolved into a brutal exchange of heavy blows. They stood toe-to-toe, punching against each other with enough force to level buildings.
“I can keep this up all day!” Unzoku shouted as another knuckle-on-knuckle collision sent sparks flying. “But can you really do the same? Your tricks have a limit!”
Lupus knew, deep down, that Unzoku was right. The equipment and the Qi were the only reasons he could match the monster’s raw, natural power. Qi was a finite resource, and eventually, his reserves would run dry. He needed to find a way to end this before his energy failed him.
Just then, an opening appeared in Lupus’s defense, or so it seemed. Unzoku’s eyes lit up as he took the bait, swinging with his full, terrifying force, aiming to take Lupus’s head off with a single blow.
Suddenly, Unzoku’s arm seemed to realign mid-swing, moved by a force he couldn’t control. His fist didn’t hit Lupus’s face; instead, it was drawn toward the shield, which had been hoisted into the air. The punch slammed into the embedded surface.
“These beast weapons... they really are quite impressive in what they can do!” Lupus said with a grim smile.
Before Unzoku could retract his trapped arm, Lupus lunged forward, pounding his fist squarely into the center of Unzoku’s face.
